I have a few lakes/reservoirs i go to. The best lure for non-kokanee trout are blue foxes. Panthers and roosters work too. Wedding rings work but not as well. Spoons, i have not have much luck with. The spin fish thing definitely works for kokanee. But flatfish have been the best for both trout and kokanee. They just kill kokanee. You are correct. Blue fox. No1
Thank you Brent. For trolling in the upper 10 feet of water, I like a 7-9 foot rood, light to medium. If you need to get your trout trolling gear and bait into deeper water via weight dropper or down rigger, do with medium or medium-heavy rod, 7-9 feet.
How do you prevent line twist with the bladed baits and spoons? I’ve tried doubling up with 5 ball-bearing swivels, so 10 ball bearings total, and my mono still gets twisted beyond repair. I usually give up on those and troll something that doesn’t twist my line up.
There's many different swivels Michael! If you are trolling, look to use a 5 bead chain swivel near the dodger or flasher and a swivel attaching your bait to the leader line. It's not 100% guarantee. You might also look to change reel line because it's old, worn out, and maybe not as high quality that's causing the twist. I hope that helps Michael!
Smash the 👍if you love trolling for trout!

What’s the rod size / weight you like when trolling ? Great video bud

Use a steelhead rod. 4 oz of weight. 40-60 feet out. Or use like a 2 and go out like 80 or 90 feet.
Tasmanian devils', great fish takers! 70 meters out the back of the boat.
