Stopping at every red light and a few green ones that look like they might be about to change, and stopping to help little old ladies across the road. But all without a crash helmet to add an element of danger.
according to his blog the ride organizers hated how he wasn't wearing one for the 5 boro promo... ah well. it is quite funny how they go to the last place you'd ever need a helmet: safe, calm, offstreet paths and the ride requires them.
Giving away all the secrets of my home area. I have ridden trails from Pennsylvanie to Maine and everything between. This is still in my top 3 for scenery and quality of the trail. And it is a paved off road trail all the way back to NY city.
Nice one man!! What a fun ride. And I really love you're Title for some strange reason 😉. My gf and I were checking out the Walkway Over The Hudson just the other day. We missed peak foliage which kinda sucked. Anyways, fun ride, like 840, full watch and you just got a new subscriber. Good stuff. Cheers. 👍💯🔥
Just did the 55 today. Awesome ride and run by the same people who do the TD Five Boro. IMO do the TD Five Boro once to ride the city nearly car free, but the DHV is the superior event. Like the video states you have 15, 33, 55, 75, and even a 100 mile ride options, breakfast & lunch included, free mechanical help though they will charge for this like tubes, and the rest areas have bathrooms and tons of hydration and food. My wife and I stay at a hotel maybe 8 minutes away so we can go out the night before and not have to wakeup super early to drive (hour) up there. If you don't want to do the event or can't make it I still highly suggest getting up there and riding the rail trail since it's super beautiful and car free. If you are feeling very adventurous you can ride from South County/North County that starts in Riverdale (Bronx) and then jump on the Dutchess Rail Trail.
Very cool! Lived in Hyde Park, Hudson Valley, for 10 years as a young kid. It was a long, long time ago. I remember when Pres. Kennedy came to town when Eleanor Roosevelt died. We used ride our bikes through the Roosevelt estate. As an old man, but still riding, I’ve always had great memories of the area and now I’ll be heading back!
The ride requires them and Bike New York asked me to wear one for the video, which I was more than happy to do. If I sign up for a ride or event that requires helmets I have absolutely no problem with it. Thanks for watching and thank you Terry!
And truly the trails starting outta VCP are a game changer. A peaceful, safe place to ride bikes or jog. New yorkers could use some nature. Check them out
We need a hotline with Eben. Stopping at red lights and everything.
Now that's a great idea
U my friend just gave us banger upcoming video. Thank you 🙏🏻
100% agree…without the helmet ;)
I would watch the crap out-of that. And choose an elegant Chopin piece to go with it.

the Bob Ross of cycling.
Terry made Bike Snob wear a helmet. Lmao!
😂 personal choice always. No judgement from me 🗣
Yeah, noticed it too, after last video, featuring him & full of helmetnazis in the comments!
Haha, thought similarly when I saw him wearing a helmet

@@rancidmarshmallow4468 Prob more of a liability thing for the organizers
Grew up riding these trails and since recent years there's more than ever. Lovely and placid, highly recommend.

I would love to know the route back to the city - is that the aqueduct trail?
The joy of riding a bike
Great production, Terry.
The end created a feeling of nostalgia for a place I've never been. Good vibes.
