We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
As someone who lives in the Hudson Valley, you definitely hit up some amazing spots and loved the video. You also came at the right time to explore the northeast in the Fall. There is a ton of history in the Hudson Valley of course, and its impossible to see it all in 2-3 days, but if you ever make it back and you're history buffs, I would totally suggest hitting up some of the famous houses like Kykuit (Rockefeller Estate), Sunnyside (Washington Irving's Estate), both of which are right near where you were (Sleepy Hollow). There's also FDR's Home and Presidential Library in Hyde Park. Of course, most of thee homes have tours and require reservations to get the whole experience, but totally worth it.
My sister is in-law is from Chappaqua. We stay in Tarrytown every summer and the Estate is fabulous!
Thanks for the recommendation. Next time I'm in the area these will be on the list. I'm pretty lukewarm about all US presidents but my friend is a pretty big FDR fan lol. But you don't really need to like someone to learn something valuable from visiting their historic estate IMO.
@@DaimyoD0 I forgot to mention, I'd you go to Hyde Park, NY to see FDR, also go and see the Vanderbilt Estate. It's literally down the road.
Yesss I agree! Also they should stop at the Eveready, best diner food in the valley
@@DaimyoD0 FDR guided the USA through the Great Depression and WWII. His home is largish. The museum is good. It is a nice place to walk around. Most presidential homes, are not worth the effort, but a few are. Mr. Vernon, Monticello, and FDR estate are. At the same time, you can vist the Vanderbilt Mansion about 2 miles up the road where you get the best view of the Hudson Valley.
There is another castle in New York, called Boldt castle, near Alexandria Bay , NY. in the 1000 Islands. It is now closed for the season but you could look it up. Quite the love story behind its build. I was able to take a ferry ride from the Canadian side to visit it. Even needed a passport! Can't wait to see where you go next.
Yes quite a love story, it was interesting reading about it. My stone-built house here in the UK, is actually older than that castle. It's great that it has been fully restored, because it would have been a shame, for an interesting part of history, to be left in ruins.
There is also Singer Castle down river! Singer Castle was actually lived in and you can stay in it now. Summer is great, but fall is beautiful in the 1000 Islands!
Love Allison's quick wit.👍😊🇮🇪🇺🇲
At 20:07. Aww, low-blow Eric. ☹️ You’re awesome Allison! 🙌😊 Safe travels y’all! 😁
Thank you so much for showing the world that New York has so much than just the city. I’m from up by Saratoga Springs. Love your videos. You all are awesome!
You didn't even scratch the surface. Please come back and stop at West Point, Bear Mountain and New Paltz to name a few.
We absolutely love the Hudson Valley, especially in the fall! So glad you enjoyed your journey through NY.
As soon as I saw Mohonk Mountain House I was like "That's Lakeview!" Upload. So good.
As a lifelong Mid Hodson Valley resident, I truly appreciate this video. I honestly believe there's no other place on earth that is as beautiful as it is here in the fall. Thank you so much for showcasing our beautiful part of the world
So excited you got to see so much fall gloriousness! I about lost it when the train whistle came out. I guarantee we would be doing the same. Can't wait to see where else you guys visit next!
I beg to differ with you Eric, we are all useful and both of you share your trips with us which gives us knowledge, joy, and hope of places to go. We love you guys!!! ❤
YES! 👍🏻👍🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️♥️♥️♥️
I lived at Mohonk as a child in the 1950s - no driving on Sundays, electricity was 120 volts DC- lights and heaters worked, but not TVs. Limo to the school in New Paltz. Final year, we got AC current and had a television.
I’m from North Jersey & Love the Hudson Valley. Mohonk is great, it is pretty steep $$ to stay there, but the grounds are world class.
I’d say only things y’all missed on were seeing West Point.
As pretty as the finger lakes, Catskills, and the Hudson valley are, the Adirondacks are the most stunning scenery in NY state. Recommend a stay in the Lake Placid area sometime.
As a Jamaican viewer I was happy to see a bit of my culture on display...
Ok, it's settled, my husband and I are definitely going to do this whole trip! How the heck do you guys find such cool stops!! Thanks you guys ✌️
Awesome, you'll have a blast!! This trip was many years in the making, but mostly just hours of scouring Instagram and blog posts 🤣
You should be going to Beautiful Pennsylvania for fall colors, famous Pocono mountains and Lancaster Amish country.
Wow I miss hudson valley my former home...great job sleepy hollow high school bball n football last couple years
I'm adding the Hudson Valley to my places to visit, thanks for sharing! And Alison, IMHO your life is very useful! You are just a ray of sunshine and this channel always makes me smile. :)
Aww thanks, Molly 😊 We hope you get to visit one day! It's such a quirky/beautiful area.
My mom took me to Mohonk Mountain for my 10th birthday and it was absolutely amazing. It was such a gorgeous place. I did a horseback tour & the fish in that lake are GIANT.
I live in the Hudson Valley and fall is truly one of the most magical times of the year here!
You guys did some of our favorite local fall activities! The Pumpkin Blaze is always so much fun for us.
Glad you enjoyed our beautiful area of NY State!❤
I want to move to the Hudson valleys with my 3 kids it’s my dream
Having an awful day then the Endless Adventure pops up on my UA-cam, instantly improved my day 👌
Beautiful Hudson Valley. I lived there more than 40 years. I miss it.
One of your best vlogs guys. I’m loving this series. Introducing me to places I will never have a chance to visit. Thanks.
Thank you! So happy we got to take you out and about with us!
The pumpkins are Amazing! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Beautiful! You did it right! ♥️♥️🇺🇸♥️♥️🇺🇸
Come on Allison.... You should have said. It's going to be Lit!
Wow you guys timed your trip to the Hudson Valley perfectly! The fall colors look so majestic! The little island on the lake with the castle reminds me of Lake Bled in Slovenia. But without the yummy custard cake! Loved your vlog there with Travel Beans years ago!
10:25 Technically, poi usually refers to balls on the end of ropes, which can also be used in fire dancing like this. Poi is originally from Maori of NZ and wasn't a form of fire dancing originally, AFAIK, but has since been adapted into a contemporary flow art, which includes fire spinning. I think the term is now sometimes used more widely to refer to fire dancing in any capacity, particularly when it is seen at tourist resorts in the Pacific islands. Inside the flow arts and fire performance community, the flow seen here on the video would be called staff / fire staff, and depending on the style, contact staff (in addition to fire breathing). Fire performance can include a variety of other props, like dragon staff, S-staff/baton, rope dart/meteor/puppy hammer, fans, hula hoop, leviwand, sword, nunchuks, orbital, juggling, fire breathing, and countless others.
At any rate, the distinction is a bit pedantic and I don't think anyone in the community would call your statement outright wrong, they'd get what you mean, and the use of the term here is actually pretty neat IMO. I was excited just to hear that you've heard of us lol
Source: I spin poi, sometimes including fire poi, and a little bit of rope dart and staff.
P.S. If y'all ever see this, huge thanks for the Harvest Host tip, I am super excited.
Thanks for showing off a whole area in one vid. Looked very cozy w/the fall colors.
I live in the Hudson Valley area (Castleton-on-Hudson). I my area we have a strawberry farm, apple orchard, and buffalo farm that you can visit. There's also a winery at the apple orchard. Plus there's the Schodack Island State park with a boat launch on the Hudson and camping. Spring in the Hudson Valley can be just as beautiful as the fall when a lot of the trees are in bloom.
Great content as always. Just keeps getting better and better.
This was fantastic! So much fun.
Can’t believe i’ve lived in the Hudson Valley for 26 years and haven’t been to any of these places 😅
Those pumpkins were incredible! Great vlog, guys. Safe travels.
I loved this episode so much!! I go up to that area to see family so it’s wonderful getting to see you two enjoy it!!
Thanks for bringing us along!
Great tour of my old stomping grounds! Traveling up RT 209, did you guys stop at the Hasbrouck House in Stoneridge? And if you stopped in Woodstock NY, just a few miles out side town up the mountain is an authentic Tibetan Monastery and Temple. Across the street are some pretty great hiking trails that take you all the way up to an awesome view of the entire area. With the Mohonk Mountain House, not sure if they still offer along with a trail pass, you can purchase a meal ticket and take advantage of their dining hall. And yes, great eats at Top Taste!
Another great Eric and Allison video. I especially like the food segments. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Gorgeous scenery vlog! Thank you!❤️🧡🍂🍁

The Jamaican food looked delicious and the quality of your content is superb. I had no idea the Hudson Valley was so gorgeous with it’s resplendent fall hues.
👋 Hola from New Mexico! Thanks for taking us on your adventure. You're so much fun😃. Love the fall color leaf's.💖
amazing you guys explored right in NYCs backyard and made it seem so countryside. Love this area. I live in queens NYC and pretty much everywhere you went is my hiking zone in New York! and great time of year to go as well! hope you enjoyed!
One of your best videos ever. Thank you. Lived in the Hudson Valley for 40 years. You did it justice.
Lit. It’s gonna be lit. That was the punchline for the jack-o-lantern event.
Ahhh Bread Alone! I love their sourdough they sell it at my local grocery store! It's really cool getting to see y'all visit places in my area. There's a hike over by the tower called "lemon squeeze" and when I was little I used to call the tower "the lemon squeeze smiley tower" that I can see sometimes in the distance when driving nearby
Those pumpkins are amazing. Never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing this in your video.
Great video tour!! Love seeing the HV :-)
Was so stoked to see you saved the best for last...top taste Jamaican restaurant...yeah man
You both live a useful life. You bring joy to people's lives through nature and your bright personalities. Keep on shining my friends.
Great Video. Thank you for posting.
Great episode! Thank you for sharing. It makes me miss upstate New York.
Thanks for showing off my back yard! Wish I ran into you both on the trails this fall but maybe next time!
So excited to see more New York adventures, and in my new neck of the woods! Did you guys check out the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery? Thanks for giving me more places to add to my NY bucket list! ❤
We did visit the cemetery, but almost immediately got kicked out. 😅 Apparently it closes super early and a grounds keeper had accidentally left a gate open. What little we saw was awesome though! It's HUGE!
@@Theendlessadventure Lol that's too funny - at least you got to see a piece of it! Sleepy Hollow is next on my list to visit and I'm very excited about the cemetery. Good to know to get there early, thank you! ❤
My thoughts exactly! Some very famous Americans are buried in the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery!
@@Theendlessadventure there's a ton of famous people buried there. I spent a whole afternoon exploring it and well worth it!
That was some beautiful scenery. Ox tail is delicious in soup also 😋.
Thank you! I enjoyed your trip to upper NY.
You guys are sooo fun i been binge watching with my husband and we cant wait to hit the road and show our daughters everything 😍😍... 💕💕💕💕
I really want to visit New York next year it is top of my bucket list
Please keep doing your food tours, I watch your videos just for that, luv you guys😘
Loved that pedestrian bridge - in from the area and my friends and I used to take socially distanced walks there almost every day.
Like your channel and love your enthusiasm for life
I've watched some of your earlier vids of redoing the RV, Clementine. I can see why you miss her, but I LOVE that camper you are in now.
You can set it up and use your truck to travel to the store and etc. I think I'd like it better than an RV, but that's just me. :)
Happy trails. See you in the next one.
You guys find such cool things to do. I’m glad you enjoyed New York and thank you for showing New York in a good light. When we travel and tell people we’re from New York we get the eye roll 🙄 and the, oh you’re from New York look 😬. Safe travels!
I have stayed at Mohonk Mountain House a couple of times and hiked those trails to the top on foot and also on horseback. Sleepy Hollow is also a great town to explore. Glad y'all had fun!

Wow, it is truly an endless adventure watching your channel. Thanks for sharing this with us that watch your channel. Outstanding work both of you do.
Thanks so much, Edward!
This was awesome ❤ The Blaze festival in particular was next level! 😍 I've added several of your featured spots to my list of things to check out in the US if I ever get there 🥰 Thanks for the tour guys! ☺
I love that you are doing USA, I would have never thought USA had these places.... Always wishing to travel but watching you weekly makes me feel I ain't missing out 🙏🇺🇸
From that fire tower you can see 6 states on a clear day. But even on a cloudy one the scenery is majestic. Great video!
My home town! I watched the Walkway Over the Hudson be built and Sleepy Hollow has the best haunted house. Feeling nostalgic! I live across the country in Oregon now. Awesome to see the area highlighted. New York is SO much more than the city!
Useful life indeed! Entertaining, informative, a good person. We like her.
I work at Mohonk teaching yoga on Saturdays!! Love this review of the beautiful HVNY!!
