Where can I get a bicycle like the one you have and how much does it cost?
Thank you Terry, i am a guy from Moldova siting in my room and learning something new about your city.
✌️ peace from Cali
You are very welcome
Moldova is a small but beautiful country, with great people. Been there in 2005 and had good time. Moldova strana chudova )
@@silentcyclist yeah! thanks! 🌳
Join if you let me
I am an ordinary guy from Russia and I also sit in my room and also learn the world from your videos.
Thank you Terry!!!
The hidden feature of Williamsburg bridge, especially during morning / afternoon rush hour is insane amount of fumes you inhale from all the cars and trucks stuck in traffic on it.
What doesn't kill you makes you angrier.
Can you wear a mask with an exhale valve to filter out the particulates? I do.
wear a pollution mask especially if you cycle everyday in traffic fumes are no joke for your health
Most of which could of been avoided if those people just took the train instead.
@@incognito3743 what kinda mask?
For those of us who are unfamiliar with NYC, thanks for the geographical and historical context to all of your past bridge footage!
Wow, this is great. As someone who has never been to nyc, i'm ready to watch someone just ride and explain the city for hours. More vids like this one if possible for sure!!
Thanks for the video, Terry, love the cycling guide format!
Riding on the Manhattan bridge feels like riding on the sidewalk because of the bumps. It's paved like a sidewalk and not asphalt. Also, the exit into Manhattan has some sharp corners on a steep decent, could be fun or risky
The exit on the Brooklyn side has a sandy patch on a steep turn. I always have to go extra slow cause there is absolutely zero traction
Always proper terry, thanks for your work.
Lots of inspiration for cycling filming.
Also this has been my main outlet since the injury that made me switch to freewheel.
Yesterday I made my bike fixed rode around the block, sore as hell today
But I think I can finally get back to fixed.
Much love Terry keep bringing the fire.
happy you're back on the bike
Terry B, I love this video! I grew up in queens and left 20 years ago, but loved walking the bridges when I was in HS. Can’t wait to get back there with my bike and ride them. Thanks so much. Love this.
As someone who has visited NYC once, this is so refreshing and informative to hear - big love for the city and the people who use these bridges on the daily.
loved this video, very nostalgic! I remember riding all 3 of these bridges living in NY when I was younger riding bmx and for me, bklyn bridge 👎 but sometimes fun being dangerous! I liked Williams because of the space and not too much traffic and it was a scenic ride just to get to it and I LOVED coming across the Manhattan at night!
Love the video. I grew up in the city and this makes me really nostalgic. When I visited not too long ago my friend and I crossed the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg, and queensboro bridges in one go, amazing day. I actually found the Williamsburg bridge the most fun because there was so much life on it. People using niche modes of transit, it almost felt like a fashion show. Commuter-wise I agree Manhattan is the best and what I actually used on a day to day basis. The Brooklyn bridge was absolute hell and made me want to throw every tourist off of it, the new path is a huge improvement event if it’s shit.
I'm a big fan of your wild shredding throughout NYC. But as a bike commuter, I really appreciated this video. Thanks!
Great video. Im in Texas and have always wondered about the bridges into NY, how ppl bikes and cars shared these bridges. Very informative and some historical info as well. Thanks for sharing!
Superb shots, superb editing and superb content. Love the direction you are going with your channel. Cheers!
Thanks a ton! Looking to continue this informational style
Your videos bring me so much mental peace. Thank you, Terry💯
Was super pumped as soon as I saw the title of the video. Can't wait for more informational style videos like this. You have a knack for it.
The aesthetics of the Williamsburg make it my favorite bridge to ride across. Great views of the city when you're coming across the river.
Thanks so much for this video Terry
Great to see a part of the world I will be unlikely to see.
Came for the hotlines, stayed for the random riding round.
Ride safe.
As a fellow New Yorker Myself. Great information Brother.
Riding Brooklyn bridge was definitely crazy back in the day compare to now.
Yep, famous StarWars tune singing dude. With those wild, brainless crowds.
Very interesting and informative Terry. The local authority here in Galway, Ireland recently endeavoured to create a temporary cycle lane by our sea front. It was shot down due to an enormous adverse reaction from locals who feared a potential future without the motor car dominating our habitat. Kudos to your city planners
appreciate u for making this video, i dont live nowhere near the US. this feels a little bit of a tour guide for cyclists around the world
we're basically explorers as bicyclists, and seeing new places that arent familiar to us with context gives us context on how other cities should improve their bike laws or bike lanes or anything bike related within the city.
i live in poverty, so we're not fortunate enough to have certain bike lane barriers like yours and other fortunate cities. basically risking our lives commuting.
One of the best videos ever made. I smell 200K coming your way. Chill, calming relaxing vibe, Terry. You continue to impress me with your storytelling and warm tone. You are truly a model human that we can all learn from. Thank you sincerely for sharing your gifts with us. It means a lot to me what you have done.
i commuted BK bridge for years. I loved riding across the top. The mornings were never crowded. I will always treasure those early commutes into Manhattan. Coming home was another story, usually I was on east side by end of the day so would take Wburg back. Incredible what they've done to the landing in Manhattan. Nice vid, love to see the updates. - former Brooklyner
Amazing footage! thank you for uploading. As a person who commuted bicycle 26 miles RT 3x a week for about 30 years (SOCAL), I would merely add for collective benefit-
Ears are a very complex system, lots of small parts, hard to access! Damage done today often does not show itself until 30 years later! Due to riding right shoulder with cagers whooshing past me for 30 years. I have tinnitus in the left ear. I find when I put a ear plug in on that side, it helps reduce further impacts and does not excessively hamper ability to sense left side threats.
Your ride is big time urban combat stuff! Makes me want to visit NYC to go riding! Extra tubes and hard case tires , and max head on swivel time.
Oh man, how I love those videos :) And I still remember your humble beginnings 😉. You're YT beast now, keep it up Brah!!! 🤙
I always wanted to pack my bike on trips to NY but was fearful I'd not know how to get around. You just gave me a bunch of options to get to so many spots. Great video.
If you use Google maps bikes it works pretty good. Sometimes you run into a lot of construction but it's not hard to navigate.
absolutely beautiful. Thanks for your time and dedication.
Thanks for the summary. I love the driving shots. Keep it up. 🙋🏻♂️
The shot at 5:23 along with the music is so freaking good
Great video Terry! And awesome aerial shots!!!
Three beautiful bridges!! Great video!! Love those bikes lanes coming off the Brooklyn Bridge.
This is a great format Terry. Greetings to Andrii.
thank you
I just love this channel. Thanks Terry.
I lived in Bushwick over 10 years ago and rode the Willyburg bridge both ways on the regular. Only ever tried Manhattan or Brooklyn once or twice on a lark, as they weren't useful for my commute to Union Square. Totally agree on the hectic exit at Delancy too, and I can't believe they haven't worked it out yet! Miss that ride all the same!
This was great. Very insightful and so cool to see everything from your persepctive. Keep up the good work :)
Loving the Fixed Terry mood
Really enjoyed this bike infrastructure focused video, I live in Paris and it's interesting to see what it's like in other big cities. Cheers!
Only crash I've ever been in on my bike was exiting the billyburg bridge on Manhattan side. People loveeee coming up that little one-way hump without checking to see if anyone's coming down first lol
Nice dude! Would love to see you chat about Queensborough bridge. The pitch on the entrance from Manhattan is just brutal. Would also like to see you on the triborough bridge. It literally has stairs at some points.
Technically, you're not allowed to ride the Triborough bridge, you're supposed to dismount and walk, not that many do. . In addition to the stairs, it's also really narrow. I have heard of people getting ticketed for riding, it never hurts keep on eye out to be on the safe side.
Thank you Terry.
I'd bet I speak for most viewers. That was very interesting and well done. I really enjoyed it. San Francisco, where I often frequent, resembles a miniature New York Ciry. Those of us in The Bay, can somewhat relate to the challenges, and cool sites seen, in regards to commuting on bike in, and about the city. You seem like a down to earth guy who loves to cycle, people, and his town. We're looking forward to more videos from you. Btw, excellent music selections too. Good job.
Thanks Terry for this detail insight, I'm in Dallas and planing an AmTrak run with my roadster ( Roubaix )
Another awesome edit! Very informative!
Thanks for covering this. I got a 2” screw through my tire on the BK Bridge last week, so much trash there.
"its not safe" -> proceeds to run a red light
Helpful video thanks Terry. Great video as always
Glad you enjoyed it
They've made so many improvements. I used to ride back in the 90's and you couldn't stop pedestrian are riders from doing whatever they felt like
Love this film. It's about cycling over some bridges, thats it. Looks beautiful, simple story. Love it'!
What a cool tour, thanks!
💙💛
as a longtime cyclist in NYC, i'll say your assessment of the bridges is pretty much spot on: well done
that said, williamsburg bridge is my fave ;)
Thanks for the tour Terry! :)
I don't know if I'll ever go to the States, but I sure will know which bridges to ride. Thanks for being a window into one of the cooler cities of the world.
When I lived in Brooklyn I used to ride on those briges. Super Cool. Good to see that it become better.
It’s getting there
Thanks for the info. I have to try the BK Bridge. Must be fun not having to dodge pedestrians on those planks. I had a lot of fun on the Rumble Bridge (Billy). I would stop on that crossover and watch the trains go by. East River Bridges on my bucket list.
The first summer of Covid19 I rode Hudson River bridges from NYC to Kingston, walked the Rip Van Winkle. The new Tappanzee is pretty good.
nice.. i like this format Terry
The other week I was riding home from work and there was a full blown DJ techno party where Terry cracks a beer at the end. I was duly informed that spot has been nicknamed "sky bar" by my Greenpoint hipster buddies. I'ts' a perfect spot to chill before returning to the southside after a long day in the city.
WOW thats was crazy seeing people walking the Brooklyn Bridge bike path. LIKE WHY?? LOL... Love the video. Manhattan Bridge is my favorite bridge to ride, but working in lower Manhattan, I'm so grateful for the Brooklyn Bridge bike path. Saved me so much time
terry : casual explaining bike lanes in bridges
me: got lost appreciating graffiti
Beautiful bicycle. Gorgeous lines.
I was looking out for the Blues brother's in this episode.....informative content!
great format!
Ahhhh man. I miss these bridges. Noiss one Terry!
Loving the new videos Terry!
More of these kinds of videos! Love it!
Great city great views and great bridges
Its awesome for cycling and walking
lol outro was hilarious, I almost spilled my coffee 😁
Great breakdown as someone who used to bike from BK to Manhattan everyday
I love these history/informative videos
Awesome video Terry!
Great Video Terry!! 🤙🏻
Thanks 👍
So glad they finally fixed the monstrosity that was the bike path on the Brooklyn Bridge
Now I just wished that maybe one day in my life I could once go through those bridges and really feel how nice it is.
This is sooo good! 😊
Bike in NYC, tough business no matter how ya slice it. Its was nice to see the williamsburg bridge actually has a paved bike lane, a far cry from the the loose metal slabs, full of holes and sharp obstacles, that ended in a staircase.
The vibe of this video is awesome)
This takes me back to my 20’s. Thanks brother
This video was great!! Woudl love to see more content like this... Like... "From one cyclist to another... here's things you should know about my city" kinda vibe. Shoot, i might make one for Austin
Sick vid iam from long island I remember riding those bridges when we'd take train into city BMX all over real cool
Wish I could have a ride through the NYC with you guys one day. Cities for bicycles! Big up!
As you said you can be happy & thankful that you can ride over the bridges at all, here in New Orleans you can't over any of the ones crossing the Mississippi which sucks, there is only a Ferry for 2 bucks that don't run late at all. Not even on the weekends.
Thanks very useful. Wish more people around the world would make useful informative things like this. Doubt I’ll ever ride in NYC, but if I did….
nice levels when going around that dark corner on the Manhattan bridge
Would love to see you do something similar for SF! (obv not bridges, but maybe popular commute routes or something idk) thanks Terry! Great vid
I love this video. Was that a dolly zoom with a drone on the Williamsburg bridge? Sheeeit.
I’m envious of Brooklyn commuters, us Queens folk only have the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, long steep climb from Queens side and a right turn car exit on the Manhattan side.
Thank you Terry!
the simple fact that you had all green lights coming off of brooklyn bridge while sharing your examples is great timing.
Actually he didn’t. The first light was red for cyclists because the traffic on the right side turning left had green. He didn’t even look, just kept going…
Great video Terry, very informative! I just shared with my non-cyclist friends and family
Coming out to New York in August, this makes me want to ride my bike A LOT...
Nice thanks for the video
Awesome vid, thanks
Great video and context for your live streams! Nice to have different options
Glad you enjoyed! Hope it helps if you ever come out this way
@@TerryBthanks!
I will say any videos of you guys hauling ass on the Williamsburg through the chicane are top tier for me
r1chard
Thanks Terry!
I'm glad they did something about the brooklyn bridge. Riding up there with the pedestrians taking pictures on the bike path was a nightmare
Thanks for the video. I've recently started commuting by bike on the 59th St Bridge from QNS to mid town. On my first ride I was surprised by the number of ebikes, scooters and everything else that whizzes past at hyper speed! I've since learned to be more aware of what's around me & anticipate other riders. Just wished everyone would give the old "passing on your left" now & then. What're your thoughts on this other bridge?
Thank Terry for little lecture about cycle live of New York ✌️ Hello from Moscow 🚲
awesome. 1st time seeing your content. subscribed. Bike people are the best people. cheers!
Welcome
agree with your breakdown, only thing I would add is the increasing number of mopeds on the Manhattan bridge can be unnerving as well
New subscriber here, appreciate the film, narration, and insight. Thanks sir or fam whatever bro idk
