    There are unbelievably simple things you can do for your voice throughout the day to keep it primed and ready for use, particularly when singing. Let's take a look at one of the main ones I use every day to stay in great vocal shape!

    Here are things that I do to warm up my voice every day!
    1. Be healthy - Drink water, don't overeat, get good sleep, stay positive.
    2. Lip rolls over my entire range. I keep it light - especially in the higher ranges.
    3. Belly laughs. I learned this exercise from you! Really helps to engage compression - especially if I haven't been singing for a few days.
    4. Humming, just as described in this video!
    Thanks for all your good work, Chris.

      I think I do the lip rolls in the right way, but I don't know why it makes me wanna scratch my nose Lol
      It's something really uncomfortable, I need to stop everytime or change to another exercise

      @@eli0753 Could try trilling R's instead; I have the same thing as you with lip rolls, but I feel like trilling R's performs the same function as an exercise minus the uncomfortable things.

    I love that you bring the meditation aspect into it, I've been meditating for years and have always taken the approach, it's not about silencing your mind but looking at what happens and really examining what your mind/body does. I have done auditory meditation with bi-tonal stereo sounds, I was able to completely focus on one side, one pitch, one sound, and from that guide my focus to a specific place. I love exploring my own mind, there is a huge overlap when you really find your voice. Thanks as always Chris.

    Oh man i was doing this. Then singing along with some songs in a lower octave before doing the exact notes that are usually hard to hit. I try to relax my hands, neck, chest and face. And i started singing in the normal notes. I did not even notice. Amazing. I feel so much more bandwidth and control in my hi register now. Its kinda freaky. It really brings out my voice's full tone. Its almost like the tone and caracter of my talking voice is coming through while singing. Its way easier to hit a note now with my voice not wobbling around the note from the tension.

    humming teaches your muscle memory to stay nasal. it simply is wrong especially for beginners. instead, you can "bbaah, bbah" or "yyyyou, yyyyyyyou". if you humm, you will feel your resonance on your nose, it is called false mask. but "bbbbah" or "yyyyyyou" vibrates your forehead which is the true mask.

    • @eli0753
      @eli0753 4 роки тому

      This "yyooouuu" sounds reminds me to some poliphonic singing exercises I was practising since a few months. But I tend to tense my tongue to make that sounds. Now I think I can combine this two in order to relax every muscle, thank you :)

    • @vegeta1885
      @vegeta1885 4 роки тому

      That is just simply not true. Humming is not nasal, nasality is when you DONT use your nasal cavities. Humming leds the voice where it should be resonating. But i understand what you are saying. its the teachers job to correct it. If you humm I would suggest biting on it, it helps more but bah is good as well.
