I love listening to Dennis’ introspects on his inner connection with mother nature, spirits, and his desire for simple, honest and true love. Probably not many of the expats know, not even the locals are consciously aware that Philippines is a matriarchal society. It’s inherent in every Filipino family that the mothers are very norturing in every levels of the society. I think it is genetic or a spiritual thing. It is not taught. It comes out naturally from centuries of tradition. It is not feminism, it is not political. It’s as organic as nature can be and our men listen to what we have to say without feeling threatened or insecured about it. I am a former filipino citizen and now live and a U.S citizen. My mom lives in the Philippines. I took my 3 week vacation to visit my mom in the Philippine at that time she is in the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU ) and after 2 weeks she passed away. She was waiting for me before she died. God is good I was able to see her before she died. It was not easy for me but that's life.
I'm not gay but I love this guy. I'm not even "spiritual" but Dennis is so "there" with so many things I resonate with that I relate to his adventure. Namaste.

Good Job keeping the conversation moving along Mark, it takes some skills to keep from getting bogged down in the details. Dennis is an interesting person and it's easy to chase those side stories.
I will be 50 yrs old this year, but I work with younger guys who by minimum are only interested to what’s going on the moment, like having fun in the weekend or how to pay there bills, this channel and your content is very interesting since you have people who are experienced with life and actual failures that they learned to cope and continue to live and enjoy.
4:05 growing up in the Philippines, I've heard of the word "Diwata" or 'Dewata' as something of the Spirit in Filpino mythology, didn't realize it has Hindi origins. One diwata that I've read in Filipino story books is Maria Makiling.
Wow when he talks about the Himalayas I was getting chills down my spine. I am going to be honest and say that I had a very negative impression of Americans/European older white men who move to countries like Phillipines and Thailand, for all the "reasons" we are told. After your interviews I had no idea how interesting and wise some of these guys are. And how those stereotypes are so ridiculous.
Agree with Dennis with regards to John Perkins, the elites that slaving people and the illusion of this all! :D Multiverse, parallel realities, extraterrestrial beings, things above our limited perception, Yogi in the Himalaya's that doesn't eat and is around 130 years old up to 1000 years old, spirituality, humanity, and connectedness with each other through love. I am happy that my motherland Philippines has brought him love, motherly caring that he didn't experience anywhere even in India. That motherly love and care is really natural to Filipinos. I did travel to India for month and India gave me that deep spiritual connection to God and Philippines gave me love and spirituality comes naturally.
dennis im sorry about your mom, i saw you get realy emotional and it reminds me of my mom in that same situation except we were all in her room to see her go cause she was given a morphin and some other medication for her to go. she was in the state of coma. i do live her in anaheim california and when we use to take a trip to sanfrancisco we would take the 5 freeway and after we hit the grapevine in bakersfield its all farming stretch. now i see alot of mexicans working in that area, nothing wrong with that they are a very hard worker.....love your story thank you for sharing.

I remember my father told me a story when he was still alive, about a DIWATA living in Mount Makiling which is located in Los Baños Laguana. My father told me that there was this group of student that went into the forest of Mount Makiling and made a small party in there, with a loud music and making a lot of loud noises. After a few minutes a heavy rain start pouring on the top of the mountain and creates a flash flood heading down to where the students are. I don't know how true the story is, but every person living in Laguna knows, you don't wanna mess up with Maria Makiling, the known DIWATA in Laguna.

14:00 ish. After 15 plus years of living in US. Part of the reason why I still feel awkward saying "how are you?" I am used to that eye contact, eyebrow and nod without words while connecting to people. Saying how are you here in US has been said casually and way too much it that cheapens it. Asking How are you here on US doesn't mean much.
