I love these guys. I saw them a week before Going Out in Style came out, and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. It was a small venue in Chicago that was filthy inside, but my god was that a fun night. Beer was flying the entire show and although I didn't drink I came home smelling like beer. These guys are great. They're such bros.
great listening to these old stories from this band. should be more questions and a longer segment when you get hold of these guys, can listen to them for hours man. lets go murphys!!
Love that "The Factory" was brought up. That's where I discovered DKM when they opened up the "Boston Invasion" tour with The Ducky Boys, The Cuffs and The Bosstones (headliner).
DKM has always been and treated the Northeast and myself as they seem. Honest,Loyal and all around solid crew. You can never fake Honesty and that they all are!
My friends and I got to meet Ken after a show in Nashville. He was funny and gracious. I always loved the Murphys but they went even higher in my estimation.
Philadelphia boy right here and LOVE they know the old electric factory and about south street. The Starbucks they’re talking about is on the corner of 4th and south caddy corner from Jim’s cheesesteaks. I can’t wait to see dropkick again! My second favorite city next to philly is Boston and always will be. 🤘🏻🍀
About 10 years ago as a 16 year old I saw Murphys play a small club in my town. I got up onstage at the end, busted a rib, was accidentally punched in the face by my own friend in the pit, and fell down with everyone on broken glass at the end of Barroom Hero. I managed to snag the set list and get Ken to sign it for me afterwards outside the venue, to which I obviously said “Thanks man that was the greatest fucking show I’ve ever seen.” His response “You oughta get out maw.” I fucking love these dudes even if I don’t listen to the new stuff as much. You can tell they have so much heart.
If you have experienced Dropkick Murphys - live and in person. Please do so before it’s too late. Please. Trust me, it will change your life and your experience will not be forgotten. There is a powerful sense of brotherhood and celebration that cannot be described with words. ✌️
There's this really nice video that just went up a few weeks ago, Dropkick Murphys went to this 3 year old who has cancer's house and performed for him. It was really, really nice, if you wanna go watch it.
Ike Beelzebum face down in the gutter wont admit defeat thought clothes are soiled and black hes a big strong man with a child act dont you take his booze away HEY
Dropkick Murphys are great, they're one of the more interesting rock acts, even for a punk rock band. I actually have liked them a long time but I always assumed they were Irish. Or pirates.
Been following these Boston bar room heroes since they first played Detroit. That fireman rumor lead to a couple arguments! Still have my DM scally cap in grey and everyone wanted to trade me for their green ones. 1.) I'm not Irish. 2.) Everyday is not St Patty's Day.

Man, everyone says this, but (and especially after watching this) they say it for a reason: I'd totally love to throw back some beers with the Dropkick dudes!
Fun TRUE story My local record store is owned by Als best friend and I was in one day and he came in and they started doing some business and I'm thinking to myself "Christ he looks familiar but who the hell is he?" and after they do their stuff maybe ten fifteen minutes he says "Al can you sign this stuff?" and I immediately went "HOLY SHIT that's fucking AL BARR!" and I went up to him and I said "Dude! Your Al Barr!" and looks up smiles and goes "Yeah last time I checked." I'm like damn man Als got jokes and I asked him if we could take a picture and he said sure but only if I didn't sell it for Leftwing propaganda and I told him it was to make my buddy jealous and he smiled and said absolutely let me finish signing this stuff up.
I mean...there was internet in 98 but it was expensive and slow as anything (I'd say this video at full quality would take anywhere from 30 minutes to a full hour to load on late 90s/early 2000s high speed internet. At least for general consumers)
I saw the Bruisers @ The Elvis Room in Portland, Maine with Big Meat Hammer.. I think it was 96 or 97.. We did the Rocket chorus line with both band's on stage.. I think there might have been 7 people there.. Both bands killed it though.... FUCKING SLAYED!!!
Love, love, love this series. Every episode is always so interesting!
Such a good time at the show with them and Rancid, I've never seen such big smiles in the pit.
They should have been interviewed in the nearest Irish pub.
@Kev Mcd They could get wicked bah-bacue.
Ken owns McGreeveys Sports Bar in the shadow of Fenway.
You know it's "should have", and not "should of". This made me happy.

It would be insanely cool to see one of these with Henry Rollins
Joe Allen or Jello Biafra
Jello Biafra would be a great episode!
