Not least to people that they deem a threat, or feel is getting too close to their pack leader - in this case the male owner. But most importantly if this couple want kids at some point, this level of over-attachment in an animal is a cause for concern. Bronson's jealousy and attachment would put any animal behaviorist on edge when a child comes into the 'pack'. In Bronson's mind his dad's the Alpha and he's the Beta, dogs have such a rigid pack hierarchy. They need to be encouraging Bronson to become more independent, less needy and most vitally not to 'guard' his father 24/7.

@@ddandymann Yes, I agree. Bronson clearly defers to the male owner as pack leader. What we don't see and would be interesting, is his behavior when he's alone with his female owner. Does he defer to her? Does he guard food/toys etc I'd also like to see how he behaves with his brother pit bull when the male owner isn't here. He's clearly deeply possessive of the male owner, at least, with his brother. The worrying thing is his possessive pawing, and also allowing him in the bed - they have to cut that out. I do think that they have to make him aware of his place in the hierarchy - in the video Bronson gets attention first when dad comes home, is this a regular occurrence? If so, they should absolutely make his girlfriend the first person to be greeted and get attention. I also agree this is just a snippet - but it's a snippet which is being presented as the regular house dynamic and if this is so, then Bronson clearly sees himself as second in command, which regardless of his behavior or aggression (and he may have absolutely no propensity for violence), is an absolute no no and mistake for ANY dog.

I wish everyone would be like this guy with their animals. All animals deserve this kinda treatment. I hope this rubs off on anyone and everyone who watches this adorable video. Loved it :) :)
I agree 100 perc...
I disagree, Bronson is overly attached to his male owner - this can be dangerous, you saw how he was when his sibling dog approached their father - yes, on one level it's 'cute' when presented in a cute video; but dogs who become overly attached, protective or guarding of anything, be it food, toys OR owners are a risk.
@@oliviakirby1409 yes 100% agree
@@oliviakirby1409 Only when the person they have become attached to does not have strong canine leadership abilities. If the owner that they are attached to has good leadership abilities however then that dog will always be looking to them for leadership and will obey their every command. In short, as with all things dog related, it depends on the owner.

@@missg.5940 GROSS!!! I cannot stand little dogs and chihuahuas are the worst! Always yipping, always shivering, always annoying like their owners. I don't wish any harm to the breed or small dogs. I would get a cat before getting a K9 that can fit in my bag.
@@CC-si3cr youre stereotyping most small dogs arent like that. Maybe a higher percentage of small dogs relative to big dogs but the majority of small dogs are cool if trained properly.
@@johnkaminski7605 IF trained properly is the key word which is not the case. I volunteered in an animal rescue for over a year and the majority of small dogs were yippy chihuahuas and mixed breeds. Most small dogs were adopted faster than large breeds bc ppl were uneducated on large breed dogs. Volunteering in the animal rescue is where I gained my love of pit bulls. In the beginning I was terrified of pits until I had to walk them. Then I learned they were the best most loving dogs in the rescue! I love small breeds too! Cocker Spaniels, Maltese, Shih Tzu, the list is endless. My least favorite are Corgi, French Bulldog, and Chihuahua. It's their temperament for me. Just bc I say they are my least favorite doesn't mean I want any harm to come to any dog.
Not sure if I agree with you, could you imagine if this couple decided to have a baby, how do you think this dog would react to a baby getting all the attention from the father, one yell from the baby is enough for the dog to act on instinct and attack the baby killing it in seconds,

He seems like a once in a human lifetime dog. Those lucky enough to have had one know what I mean by that. I sort of had one that parents had before I was born and grew up with her during my early years of life. But had a pit that I got for my daughter and he ended up being almost everything you would want in a dog and more. He acted more like a person than a dog most of the time. Unfortunately he ended up with liver cancer and had to be put down a few years back. We were lucky enough to have a bit over 7 years with him though.
I know exactly what you mean man
