What cameras are you using, Grant? Among the sharpest of the many flight videos I’ve seen. Would appreciate more panel closeup shots.
Thanks Bruce! I started out just using an action cam I got several years ago at Menards of all places. It’s now my wing view since it’s the lowest quality of the three I have. Panel view/time lapse is an Akaso Brave 7 LE that I bought recently just for the channel, and the cockpit view is a borrowed GoPro Hero 5 Black. I’d love to add more views, but cameras aren’t cheap and my pc is about capped out in how much it can handle. If you want to help speed up that timeline you’re welcome to throw a dollar or two my way via my Buy Me A Coffee link in the description.
This veiw you have is a learning experience to knowing what to say before and after to repeat back the words from ATC communication in all your flying and George is observing everything you are doing and I am to
I'm a PC12/45 and /47 Captain out of PHX. It was pretty cool to see this video for sure.
Awesome! For Cutter? I saw several of them on the ramp there.
@@GrantBaker no I work doing part 91 corporate flying for a private company
Great Video. Enjoyed Watching. Thanks for Sharing.
My favorite aircraft
Really appreciate the narration as you perform each task. Very educational. Thank you.
Thanks! All that talking to myself is coming in handy!😂
Those avionics look outstanding! Situational awareness is awesome!
Yes, situational awareness is amazing with today’s boxes!
Friends. Perfect song. Thanks for the ride, Friend.
Great flight vlog!👍🏼
Good morning Grant and always available to fly right seat on any of your flights in any adverse weather conditions of exception of thunderstorms and another reason why because of your Professional Pilot experience in my favorite single engine turbo prop aircraft that you flying and say hello to the SIC in where I would want to be. Thank you for the ride along and we all are so blessed
Great video! Long flight! You guys are blessed to be flying comercial at such young age! Enjoy!
Thanks! One of the longest I’ve ever done. The older I get, the less I find myself wanting to do these long flights!😁
Entertaining and awesome as always! That time lapse was beautiful!
Thanks Matthew! I thought it was really cool to see the country change shape below us in fast time!
@@GrantBaker it was really cool!
Great video, very educational for a person just learning how to fly a PC12NG.
Thank you Mike! Glad you could learn something from it. 🙂
Grant , I just bought a PC12NG last year and my goal is to one day be able to fly it as good as you or at the least close to it . Thanks
Nice landing again Grant. That indeed was a long time riding the seat. Thanks for letting us ride along !
Thanks Larry!
Hi Grant
I’ve totally enjoyed watching your flights. Just finished watching your “chasing the sun” video out of Newton KS.
I REALLY like the Pilates PC12. Had a lot of experiences around that bird. A company I worked for had one out of Chicago. I got to ride in the co-pilots seat. Then I recently got to know a pilot who served in the USAF that flew the U-28A (the AFSOC version) in Afghanistan. Most of my life I have dreamed of being a pilot. (Never happened) but that bird would be my top pick.
I was born at an AAF base in Salina KS & my dad was in the Air Force for over 20 yrs. Then I joined the Air Force out of high school & spent quit a few years in during the Vietnam Era. I was in security and guarded B-52s & the SR-71. Anyway I’m really enjoying your channel Grant. Keep it up mister.
Watching you vids in preparation for the PC12 to finally come to MSFS soon!
Hopefully it’s a good model! I don’t flight sim much, but I might have to get MSFS2020 and try out the 12 when it’s released!
@@GrantBaker you gotta! A tutorial vid from an actual type rated pilot would do numbers once it releases!
Great video guys
Thank you!
Nice landing
Great video, keep’em coming! Greetings from the birthplace of your great machine 😎 🇨🇭
Thanks Andreas! I’d love to visit the factory over there sometime. 🙂
@@GrantBaker Yeah me too! Thanks for the ride along, Always.
Ayeeee KPHX! Home base!!! Hope you enjoyed the 100 degree weather!
Oh man, I had time to go mountain biking when we came back to pick the passengers up. I about had a heat stroke! 😂
Left the heat, smart ! Lol
Yep! But it was even hotter a couple weeks later when we went back to pick them up!
@@GrantBaker I know, I live here unfortunately.
Thumbs up 👍
Nice departure camera angles Grant.
Good music also.
Another great video 👍👍👍
Thanks Mark! I’m glad you liked the music, I usually spend quite a bit of time finding songs. 🙂
Clean, uneventful.
Excellent....
Beautiful approach to landing
Thanks Bernard! It was a bit challenging with the much lower than reported weather.
Keep posting bro the algos csptured ur channel if u keep posting ur gonna grow big, reminded me of @stevo’s channel💪🏾
Thanks Aaron!
What cruise power settings do you use I have the PC12 in FSX by Carenado but mine is not the NG mine is the Legacy PC12
I use the PC-12 Calculator iOS app to find the Max Cruise power setting. The app has data for all PC-12 models. In the NG, it usually ends up around 780 ITT.
Great video, any chance of a forward view when landing? Just asking.
Anything is possible! 😁 Do you mean a different forward view than the one I used in this video or just a longer shot? I need more cameras to be able to diversify my angles more. Currently I only have 3 cameras.
@@GrantBaker Was talking about a camera facing out the front windshield not the side view . Thanks for the fast reply
If your airtime was 5 hrs, what is your fuel range? Thanks for your videos, really enjoy watching.
Depending on altitude, I can get close to 6hrs + 1hr reserve at max cruise power. That’s at least 1,500nm in still air,and using max range power would extend that.
@@GrantBaker Thanks for the info and your time/effort in doing the videos, it's appreciated.
Hey Grant, was looking forward to this return flight and thanks for sharing.
Noticed the improvements in your camera work - really nice. This flight gave us the full range of weather the PC12 is capable of handling - CAVU on takeoff and then blistering rain and snow on approach. Seemed like a walk in the park for the airplane (of course, thanks to your expert handling of the aircraft).
Out of curiosity, what was the flight time back to Goshen?
Thanks benakay! The plane handled it like a champ. Flight time was 5.1 hours.
@@GrantBaker Hey, Grant. Quick question and pardon my ignorance... Min 17:30, you used the phrase 'Impact Snow'.
Can you clarify what you meant by that?
Cheers.
@@benakay that’s snow that’s hitting the leading edge of the wing and sticking. It only sticks on the small spot where the air is hitting the leading edge and not flowing over or under it (called the stagnation point). It can look like the start of rime or mixed ice building, but ice will get thicker and extend further back along the leading edge.
how long does the flight take? and is it direct or do you stop for fuel?
Omar, this flight took 5.1hrs and we didn't need to stop for fuel. On the way out to PHX with a headwind, we did have to stop for fuel.
@@GrantBaker thanks for the reply, at that point do jets become better than turboprops? 5 hours seems like a long time. I know turboprops are the best for short range travel.
Omar, yes 5 hours is a long flight! Our typical mission is 200-600nm which takes us 1-3 hours, so a turboprop fits us perfect. For most people, I would guess if they regularly fly 3+ hour legs, then they would think about getting a faster airplane.
@@GrantBaker Thanks for the reply Grant! Very informative.
Personally wouldn’t have done the visual in those conditions , RNAV rwy 9 woulda been the choice.
what year is your pc-12?
2019
That’s awesome. My goal is to purchase one in 3 years and then take the entire year to travel every week to a new state for 1 year. Tips would be helpful
@@OMPrograms that would be so much fun! You can pm me on Instagram or reach out via email and I’ll answer your questions the best that I can. Links to both are in the about section of the channel.

One day we will meet up
I’d enjoy that!
some one stole Stevo`s intro....
Not liking the "music".
