    FLIGHT CHOPS DISCLAIMER:
I am a "weekend warrior" private pilot, I fly for fun with no intentions of going commercial. I have had my PPL for over 15 years, but still consider each flight a learning experience - I generally take detailed notes after each flight to remind myself what went well or what I could do to improve.... Having the GoPro cameras to record flights like this is invaluable. I find these self analysis videos very helpful in my constant quest to improve, and am happy to share. Feedback is invited; however, please keep it positive.

PC-12 ...Chosen by the Royal Australian Flying Doctor Service as the best single engine turbine sub ten seater on the market regardless of price. An awesome, fast, rugged, safe aircraft. Its so stable you can trim it and with the auto pilot turned off you can move around the cockpit and it sits still like a concrete cricket pitch.

I love the PC-12 more than the TBM since it can land in unprepared surfaces and better payload and roomier. Slower and more expensive but a wider range of capabilities. Thanks for this episode.

Was really great to hear you reminisce about the beginning of your channel. I found you when I was beginning to get serious about a career in flying and just before your Patreon project. I used to work for an FBO at KBDR and we used to have PlaneSense's PC-12s come in all the time. They are the largest operator of the type in the world. I always loved watching them come in and land super slow, that and their paint job was a very awesome blue and white, and their pilots were all pretty friendly and treated myself and my line crew as people and not just line guys to be bossed around like some of the other companies pilots would.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm currently
looking at a gig flying Pilatus so I appreciate
y'all running checklists out loud while pointing
out the relevant stuff in the cockpit. I also like
how you demonstrate the connections between the
laptop and the aircraft software, I learned to fly
in the '80s so that digital stuff is still kinda
    sci-fi.

@@FlightChops I just want to thank you for this video. None of the other videos I have seen show anyone using checklists (SteveoKinevo, Guthmiller et al.). Every instructor I've ever had did not consider checklists an option. And radio calls were perfect. Clear, no jargon - excellent. I watch these kinds of videos to practice radio communications which is my weak spot. So great to hear pilots say, for example, "squawking ident" instead of "here comes your flash". Thanks again.

Steve, that's awesome. I did most of my initial pilot training at Sportys. They've got quite the program going there. On a good flying day it was not uncommon for their to be 5 or 6 planes all circling around in the pattern. The radio calls were interesting, although my favorite was one day were at the end of 04 waiting for another plane to clear the runway. He calls "Clemont County Traffic Advisory, there is a cat on the runway." and without hesitation another pilot gets on the radio and says "Meow!". LOL.

Interesting and enjoyable flight. But, if you permit a suggestion from and old aviator that learned from even older ones: a good measure to maintain cockpit organization is write down METARs and ATIS at HORIZONTAL, and take note of clearances at VERTICAL. It may sound foolish but provides an enormous support to the cockpit crew in terms of standardization (everybody can read somebody else's notes) and organization. Moreover, piece of paper and a pencil can be anachronistic and old-fashioned, but they are efficient and infallible, especially when the good old electrical energy of the batteries runs out... simply can´t rely on a tablet or a smartphone for simple (and vital) tasks as take notes without redundancy. My two cents...

Watching the way those larger complex types are flown always fascinates me. - and how true, no one can ever know it all, we are all ignorant to something.

There's a PC-12 that goes right over my house a few times a week. I've been watching it for years. They have a distinctive look from below - a wide, dead-straight wingspan with no sweep aft whatsoever, and narrow wings. As a non-aviator (at the moment), that, and the TBM-850 are my favorites. If I ever hit the lottery, I'd be on the path to getting my license tomorrow, and I'd have one of those planes in my fleet ... in addition to a Premier 1. 😁 Ahh, it's nice to dream!
Great video, as usual! Thanks for bringing us along on your epic adventures! It's fun not knowing where you're going to end up next, AND what you'll be flying in. Plus, I ALWAYS learn something in each video! 😎

Smitty Smithsonite I have about the same set of dreams, but I'm thinking if I'd switch the Premier for a Phenom 300... I'm also a bit bugged by the PC-12 and the TBM being singles, which isn't optimal if I want to fly a lot around the Mediterranean (I live in Germany) which has lots of flying over water...

Love pilots that actually use checklist in their videos. Too many do not.

I only know the PC12 from the sim, but it's definitely one of my favorite to fly :-)

Great video! We are based in the Cleveland area and fly out of Burke all the time. Let us know next time you're flying in, we'd love to take you on one of our flying adventures!

Nice vid! tI seems like that first video was yesterday! I've seen warbirds, twins, turboprops, and jets on FlightChops channel.
May I offer some suggestions for future topics:
    - Northern Territories
    - Eastern Canada (Halifax/NB/Nova Scotia)
    - STARS/Medi-Flight
    Thanks and Keep 'm coming!
