What's your favorite a mini PC of 2022?
UM690 :D
I like popcorn caramel sea salt edition but 2021 I liked the original more
Hx90g for sure.
Mine is the Deskmeet x300. It gives you the option to use a secondhand GPU and CPU and get a relatively strong build under 600.
MSI Pro with amd ryzen 7 5700G and I put 64Gbs of ram in it runs batocera well

Great review but this could be a lot more useful with price points mentioned.
Yep and also if he would have mentioned which Mini PC has Ethernet and if 1GbE or 2.5GbE and so on.
too bad...
It is the one thing he never lists... the reasons for not listing are dumb, too.
He gets them free! So not really impartial reviews.
@@jong2359 what is the reason???
@@JiSiN3000 in the videos of each of the PCs they are mentioned.
You read my mind, I was looking for this 2022 refresh roundup video yesterday. Then you go and upload it today. Keep up all the great work ETA!
I've been clocking your top three for the holidays and I can tell you prices haven't changed very much. That Nucx I5 would have been The Sweet Spot.
Been loving these Mini PC vids - keep em coming!
Love the videos, I think they could be better if you had the dimensions listed for quicker comparisons, as it's hard to tell how big or small some of these are when they're isolated with white backgrounds and zoomed in on.
You've really got me interested in the mini PC movement
thanks for the content all year, been watching so many of your videos all year, the MINISFORUM NUCXI7 is definitely my favourite as well. I was considering buying one, but i have a PC with a 3070 in it already, great content all year.
Great video! Nice to know all the options available. I'm more of a laptop guy myself, but I have family that are not PC savvy nor carry laptops. They just want to watch videos (Netflix/Hulu/Disney plus/UA-cam/Instagram), pay bills, and maybe fill out job applications online if they are looking to change. These videos increase my PC knowledge on PC mini desktop options and informing family what is the best option for their home setup.
My favorite is probably the Beelink GTR 6, We need a best handhelds of 2022 video 🥹🙏
Perfect timing. I was just about to buy a mini PC for someone for Christmas!
thanks for your consistency! i found your video from several months ago first then i searched your channel n found this. thanks for making it easy :) :)
Amazing channel 👍
The related firewall-style versions of most of these mini-PCs I think are a little bit better.
Nice video mate. I do love this channel. So many videos though! Lol hard to keep up with ☺
Some feedback though:
- Would like to see prices (rough/average) and a specification table at the end of the video comparing all 10 or something in the description highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each.
- You should consider making up a spreadsheet like Retro Game Corps of the mini PCs you review, maybe even collaborate with them on an ongoing one. Discuss a way for it to be kept updated by the community maybe (as well as the data you guys input)?
- Timestamps for your video like Isaac Olukanni provided below.
Cheers 😉
Great vid. Would be very helpful *please* to have idle, typical and full load wattage and price for each included. Still a helpful video as is. TY
this is making me remember the top 10 sbc video you did a while back
Great video, price point would help. When i looked up the pricing there was a very wide range between your list, which makes comparisons a bit unfair. But thanks for the info!
Could you make a video especially listing and showcasing the best PC's and Mini PC's for emulation from lower to bigger budget? Love the channel btw :D
I love your channel & all your reviews about mini pc’s. Among all the mini pc’s that you’ve reviewed, which would you recommend that can run adobe creative suites smoothly? Thank you. Keep on making more mini pc videos. 🥰
Got a UM690 1TB / 32GB unit on order with Minisforum. Been using their 5900HX as my daily driver and been very happy. Impressed with everything I've seen from AMD on their 6000 series APU's so decided to update.
I'm a pragmatic IT guy so live by the rule of buying the right tool for the job and as the most demanding game I play is Tower of Fantasy / Genshin Impact the UM690 will be fine. Playing at 1440p minimum settings in Tower of Fantasy I'm seeing a 32fps average, which for an APU at that rez on the 5900HX is still pretty impressive. Looking forward to what the 6900HX can do.
Having that USB4 on the UM690, its future proofed via an external e-gpu.
Love your channel. Its why I'm into this little hobby myself and really looking forward to that review of faster ram in the UM690. Pretty amazing seeing how mini PC's have come along in the past few years.
I've got the same setup on preorder with Minisforum, it should be ideal for photo editing and should be sufficient for the foreseeable future
FRIEND PLEASE HELP ME, Is the TV box mekotronics r58x better than nv shield tv pro?
Loving the last two with discrete graphics! What a time to be alive!
Hi loving your vids! Whats the latest or upcoming mini pc that got/will got the best gpu? Thanks in advance.
I built my X300 with a single slot 6400 and a Ryzen 5 4500, with 16gbs of RAM. I've ended up loving it more than my behemoth 3900X/6900XT machine. It's rock solid and a great compromise between size and performance. Yes, I know I could have gotten a better GPU but it wasn't intended to be forever in that machine. Was originally purchased as a VM passthrough card, but I can't bring myself to take the system apart now. By and far my favorite small form factor machine.

Out of curiosity, how loud are the fans when you are playing games?🙏😌
@@Mosestylez Silent.
@@KingSTARwolf wait so it's completely silent even when playing? You can't hear it at all?😮😮
What fan did buy?
@Mosestylez Correct, I play MMOs primarily so it's never under much load. I added a slim Noctua fan to boost airflow shortly after I built it. It's functionally silent.
Built and Asrock deskmeet and fried a cpu with the stock cooler. May have been a preexisting condition but the temps were too high till I dropped a noctua l9 cooler which brought the temps way down. Love the size! Run a 6600 in it and it fits fine.
Great round up for the year!
Just got my GTR6 here in China, i added the 64 GB DDR5 + 2 TB NVME myself. I am totally blown away by that little machine !!!
Finally pulled the trigger on a mini PC for the workshop, ASBS TK11 really impressed so far upgraded ram and added 2nd m.2 drive. Do not use included hdmi cable if you want 4k60. Support was very quick to respond and answered my questions. No complaints other than it runs a bit hot, but I expected it.
Iv been thinking and saving up for one and this video helped so much thank you! For a person like me who doesn't have great wifi? I think mini PCs are a go! Looking for one that can run triple A games!
I ordered the nucxi7 and hearing you say that its your favorite just made my buyers remorse vanish. Thank you for your great reviews.
I don't own one, but the Beelink SEi12 really appeals to me. I regret not buying one during black Friday. i5-1235U for mid $300 is great. I have a Lenovo laptop with a i3-1215 and it's pretty impressive for the $299 I paid. It made me want the i5-1235U.
I'm watching closely for their new models with the i5-1240p/i5-1260p. Supposed to be super quiet.
This is the video I’ve been waiting for. I have a rec room masters sit down cabinet running a ps4 but I really want to get a minipc for it so I can run SF6 when it comes out
Very interesting video, thanks for it ! Just a little thing : the prices are very different from one model to another...
Nice! I built a Desk Meet with a 5700G and a RX6600. Does fairly well playing most of the games I want to play. Just wish i could squeeze a RX6700 in.
I recently got a beelink sei 8 and it absolutely rocks!
The video I have been waiting for!
Very interesting review.
I hope can see a preview of the new Minis Forum NAD9 with the Intel i9-12900H, like the preview of the really interesting UM690 AMD powered (i can't decide if one or another it's the best, and the Morefine S600/M600 are very interesting too, but with much shorter warranty for Europe...).
Anyway, good job 👍

That Flat NUCX i7 pc is really awesome !
I agree on your top 5 buddy !
FRIEND PLEASE HELP ME, Is the TV box mekotronics r58x better than nv shield tv pro?
I got the Deskmeet X300, and put a 5700X and RX 6600 in it. I love it!
Which exact RX 6600 do you use? I might want to do a similar build but did not find a RX 6600 ITX with a reasonable price...
We love love love when you do these videos !!!!!!
After years of watching these mini PC videos. Picked up a UM580 and liking it a lot.
@ETA PRIME ...thank you for all of the videos. Have you ever used any of these mini pc's for virtual pinball? I have a tabletop two screen virtual pinball cabinet that I currently have to hook up to my desktop, but I would love to make it more portable with one of these mini pc's. I am trying to find the best and most cost effective one for Pinball FX3 and Visual Pinball that will run those programs well knowing that is all I would be running on it.
I wanna know your recommendations of these Mini PC's peripherals as a "mobile pc" like a laptops for a portability side, other than being a stationery Home Theater mini PC or Console-like machine in your home
I'd be nice to have a running rank of best Mini-PCs for high end emulation(Switch, PS3, 360) without resorting to an eGPU.
That Minisforum UM690 looks great !!!
Anyway, just looking for an AMD powered one that supports Microsoft Playready. My current mini pc (doesn't do Playready ) is the same you reviewed on your channel a while ago ( Asrock X300 with AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G )
I have a SER5, and I use it as my main gaming pc. And I can play a few hefty games (for me) which include Darktide, Back4Blood, SW: Battlefront 2.. (Darktide has to be played on pretty much at it’s lowest graphics settings but the game play is relatively smooth)
I bought the Minisforum NUCX i7 32GB RAM model based upon your review, and, let me just say, it's an absolute monster of a machine. Incredible performance, but, better still, my wife & I both work from home, desks sitting 5 ft apart, and this thing is deadly quiet, even with the "gaming button" wattage boost active. The only negative seems to be that there are apparently some strange latency issues on occasion, as confirmed by notebookcheck. Don't know if it's the SSD they chose, or what, but, I can't say I've noticed anything restrictive. Would be curious to know if you've run into any stuttering or slowdowns. Thanks for what you do, and, happy holidays!
I haven't noticed any latency issues on my NUCX i7.. I bought the barebones so I could pick my own SSD's and ram so it might be possible that is part of your issue. I am using Crucial p5 plus (1 and 2 TB versions) plus Crucial ram.
The only time this PC isn't quiet is when you use the Intel NUC software studio and toggle the fan speed to max using the benchmark mode.
As for temps seen over long hours of gaming with the system set to performance in Windows 11 and the gaming button pressed I never see temps higher than 68C. The fans even help keep my drives cool with temps hovering around 40C from both drives during use. There is definitely room in the system for drives with heatsinks on them.
My only "complaint" about the system is the lack of USB ports, but considering that it is a repurposed Intel NUCX laptop kit motherboard that has the exact same daughter boards on it that is to be expected. There just isn't any way to add extra ports to the system internally. I solved my problem with a nice thunderbolt dock
FRIEND PLEASE HELP ME, Is the TV box mekotronics r58x better than nv shield tv pro?
I have the HX90 which I enjoy very much. I wish I waited about 3 months because the HX90G was released soon after. But I cannot really complain since the machine is pretty darn good
محتواك جميل واسلوبك بالشرح جميل ومبسط
@ETAPrime which machine would you suggest for content creation? Mainly basic video editing
Any recommendations on which one would be good to hook up to a monitor for basic internet use and download/watch 4k movies? I'd like to be able to put a decent sized SSD in it and run Linux Mint(can't stand windows). The cheaper the better as long as it can do those things.
I love my NucXi7 and it's an absolute beast. I've been playing some 3DS in 3D with the aid of a quest 2 headset on mine lately. 3D on a 120in Virtual screen is one hell of an experience
How do you get 3DS working with VR? Is it built into Citra?
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep Yeah there is an option inside the emulator to put the image into SBS mode.
@@BonJoviBeatlesLedZep You obviously need a VR headset or something else that can show a 3D image. I use a Quest 2 headset connected via USB C on the NucXi7 (3DS games with 6x upscale). Will need Steam, Steam VR and something like Bigscreen Beta (it's what I use) and once that's all set up, you can play 3DS games in 2K/4K in 3D on a massive cinema screen.
how long did the shipping take?
@@kasra5700 A Month because it was pre order and then it was delayed by two weeks
I want to add a mini pc to a full sim rig setup for old school arcade driving games.
Right now I'm using a ps4 for gran turismo with a logitech wheel, so I'm looking for that Outrun, Daytona, emulation setup.
What's a good recommendation and something that can handle the peripherals and emulation without being expensive?
One thing that's really a priority for me is fan noise. Would love to hear more commentary in your reviews for these at idle/under load, and actual recordings of sound.
I've been commenting this for 1 year now. He doesn't listen 🤦♂️😑
@@Mosestylez I think it's because most of these manufacturers don't actually offer good fan support or profiles at all.
The B550 is pretty much silent, thanks to the big fan and proper low profile heatsink with heat pipes. (not the blower-type cpu cooler most of these minis have...)
agree completely, noise output always comes higher on my priorities list than CPU / GPU grunt. if it's going to be noticeably audible and therefore irritating the sh1t outta me, then it is simply not a consideration
@@neilquinn i know but he should at least show us how many decibel each device is. I don't want to spend like $600 on a mini PC that looks good when he reviews it (since we can't hear the fans), but sounds like a Jet plane or a vacuum cleaner when I use it... Taki always include and show us how loud the fan is, something ETA lacks off for some dumb reason 🤦♂️
QUESTION ⁉️ Good morning Mr. Prime. I own an AtGames Legends Pinball machine and I am looking for an affordable gaming pc. Due to limited space in the room the machine occupies, I've chosen to use a mini pc for seclusion. The question is do you have any suggestions for an affordable pc that would work perfectly with the ALP as well as stay within my 250 budget? I like your vids and think that your knowledge would be great 👍. Thank you for your time.
Ok Prime, which ones of these mini's in your opinion will be able to run most modern fighting games at 1080p/60 on-line? I've bought a arcade shell from rec-room masters, I'm trying to create a dedicated plug and play cabinet for fighting games online without the ps5 or Xbox.
Can you please tell me you which one you will pick now, NUCX I7 or the Neptune HX99G? please can you help me thanks!
Just got my NucxI7 and I’m impressed with the performance, saw your videos before the purchase, only downside with it is just having three Usb ports
Get yourself an usb hub or KVM Switcher. I use a KVM Switcher by cable matters on my NUCXI7.
@@TBMartin will look to it! Thanks!!!
I heard the only downside to the Nucx17 is that you can’t upgrade the graphics cards. Is this correct? 🤔
@@alanl9497 Yes. It uses a mobile GPU.
@@alanl9497 It's not a downside in my opinion because you never had the option to upgrade in the first place, just like a laptop.

What mini pc you can recomend for real estate office that is powerful enough to edit videos fast. Maybe with a 9i proccesor, 32gb or more of RAM, and a 1Tb ssd card...Thanks.
The asrock deskmeet can fit a 3060 ti if you check the dimensions. Maybe worth a revisit to this underrated computer
just installed mine with a asus 3060ti mini, I strongly recommend you to install it first, before ram, because how tight the allowance is
I got the minis forum b550 I like it. I haven't disconnected the computer from the card because i haven't need to take it anywhere. I am ordered the UM690.
Please a video regarding to fanless mini PC 👍🏻😉🙂
👍 👍 👍 🍀 Yeah, this mini computers are amazing! They remind me a bit old 8 and 16 bit computers! Probably it would be possible to use them for emulating those retro machines! Cool videos as always on your channel! I'm also learning from you how to make video recording and editing. Well done!
If you only want to emulate 8 and 16 bit machines, these mini PCs are all overkill. You can emulate everything up to and including a Nintendo 64 with a sub-$100 Raspberry Pi 4... assuming you can find one in stock.
@@wasitacatisaw83 True, but 1) it's more universal if you change the idea 2) you can also emulate newer consoles ex. Sony Playstation...
Of these, which would you recommend for a Steam remote play client attached to a TV to stream 1440p or 4k?
Could the nucx i5 version be considered on par with the HX90G?
Great review but I haven't had good experience with Minisforum. The one I bought was SUPER noisy, the fans went off literally every 5 seconds, even while sending emails and not under load. Also the headphone jack didn't work and had constant interference. They got in touch with me and their customer support team is great, but it's a pain in the but* to buy something new and have to return it.
Hello ETA Prime. Did you get the steam os working better for the Minisforum Neptune HX90G?
I got the number one recently. No complaints. It freezes on rare occasion, but I think that is just a driver issue. It is fresh out of the factory and will need some driver updates. I use mine flat thou, so I have to buy a few feet for it for ventilation.
Is it good for gaming?
@@iatesomefrieslol All the games I have played on it have had no problems except for the Spiderman Remastered I just downloaded. I think that game is not optimized for this rig, so it is chopy AF. So I will have to play it on my AMD rig upstairs.
What would you recommend? The HX80 with Ryzen 5800 + amd 6600m or the UM773 Lite?
Still saving money and still deciding on what to buy... Which is the best for emulation(yuzu,ps3)?
My favorite is the ASUS mini pc pn52, use it mainly to cloud game with Geforce Now Ultimate, it´s nice to be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 with everything at max settings and zero fan noise :D
I currently have the meLE Quieter3c, but I am upgrading to the Morefine M6 from aliexpress. I would enjoy keeping the fanless design in 16gb, but from my research the m6 draws up towards 24watts with the 16gb design, and I am trying to stay below 30watts with a USB C pd Charging feature. I find that there's only 5.3gb of free ram available after windows is running, and Photoshop takes about 4.5gb, which doesn't leave much for running background programs or leaving tabs on firefox.
I like this mini pc because I am a digital artist, and can run a meLE quieter3C from a Anker 30w battery, and then have a Huion 16" Kamvas charged from one cable off the meLE.
This whole setup cost me about $500 total and has given me so many more opportunities to practice art constantly, instead of being forced to stay in one area with my stationary computer and 24" wacom tablet that I don't want to risk damaging.
Thanks for all you taught me ETA Prime, I wish the best in your future and enjoy your videoes even though I've already found the computer I need.

What minipc can you recommend for gaming?
Do you have a video on what the best emulation mini PC is?
ETA’s calling you out, Zotac! You coulda been here, today…
… joking apart, I’m intrigued by those machines too. The specs of the 2022 Zotacs are too similar to those of my desktop machine for that scale of expenditure (not gonna buy the same PC twice…), but I’m confident that 2023 will be the year.
It’s nice how things go smol nowadays but I still love my Conswole. 👍
I wonder if the HX90G is loud under load. It looks like the most interesting to me and i'm thinking about picking one up but not if it is going to be loud.
Good list, but probably better to give a list of the best by categories instance of just which has highest specs.
I see … you prefer the 1600€ PC over the 300€ PC … who'd of thought 😮 … great info.
We've bought dozens of Meles, they're pretty good mini pcs and no fans to go bad.
I got the mele quieter3q and it's pretty good, don't know how to get the @symbol up on my qwerty keyboard though so I'm limited in using it so far.
A better card that fits is the powercolor fighter 6650xt, tested it myself. Also the evga 3060ti
Could I use the MELE Quiter3C to run a security camera system like blue iris or would it be too much for it to handle?
i currently owned beelink gtr 5900hx (not the newest one that you put on this vid). and its been amazing so far! i want to upgrade to the gtr6 to see if i noticed any performance boost than the previous model but its still plays and handles really good performance. been loving every reviews you put out there :D keep it up!
