The change to game cards is just another dystopian nightmare where we can't even own copies of games. I hate the idea of game cards from a retro game culture and game preservationist standpoint.
Unless you find an employee who is willing to lose their job, they are not going to sell $0.03 games. Best case scenario is if you take games to self-checkout, and price goes thru without alerts.

Download cards are so dumb if I wanted a digital copy I’d get it online. Other than as a gift they are basically pointless, but a store/shop card is a better choice by far. Gives the recipient a choice rather than maybe receiving a game they didn’t like/want.
they are also trying hard to stop people from trading their old games or borrowing games from friends. this is a dark day for gaming because soon no one will own anything.
@@kevinbernatek7875 I do. I'm a value minded consumer who rarely pays MSRP for a game. So getting games for $1-5 and up to $10 is a good thing, especially since the games are the same whether you buy them at launch or six months (or more) later. Actually if you wait until long after launch you get the fixed versions since by then they usually have any issues patched out. That's also why I prefer buying long after launch since so many games release in an unplayable state at launch nowadays. So why support a company that has released a defective product with a full price sale.
I was just in my local Walmart and saw some good deals. The only reason I didn't get anything is because I'm doing a money challenge this month plus I'm trying to take steps to be debt free.
I ended up going to 3 different Walmarts and picked up Id guess 20-25 different games for about $200. I didn't get the best games though as they had already been picked over. Missed out on Nier, World War Z, etc. I had showed up to my local Walmart Wednesday morning to check, the employee acted as if I had no clue and was wrong, and show back up 2 mornings later to find it all picked over. I wouldn't put much stock into what that employee told Wrightway about physical games though. Unless he was the store manager, he likely doesn't have a clue and even if he was, he still may not have a clue. This could easily be a situation of Walmart clearing stock of inventory that isn't selling to make room, shrink inventory, change layouts, etc.
Can concur that each Walmart is different, especially with Clearance prices. Had one in my area in Florida mark games not on their mod to $5 or $10 a couple months ago. And you got lucky with those 3-cent games, those are not supposed to be sold.
Case in point…just found about 30, 3-cent games. Store would not sell them, which is odd because was told they are just going to get thrown in the trash.
I know Walmart stores will only consider price matching online prices if the online listing says shipped and sold by Walmart. They won’t price match 3rd party listings

They are only carrying the top 10 sellers for xbox and making more room for PS5 & Switch . Sony and Nintendo always Saud the Game Pass is not sustainable and it isn't. Microsoft are losing money on it and it's not expanding it user base to make AAA games viable on Xbox.
Hell yeah! I super appreciate these PSA type videos you make man. I watched this last night and decided to venture out this morning to check my local Walmarts. Ended up hitting four in the Phoenix area and was able to score around 20 games which was a mix of Switch, PS4/5, and Xbox. A majority were in the same $5-10 you found. Even got some newer/higher value games like Armored Core VI and Pikmin 3 for half off. Wouldn’t have thought to go unless I saw your video so thanks brotha for the hookup! Also, was chatting with one of the Walmart employees and he was making it sound like they were going to keep putting out more stock of other titles periodically over the next couple weeks. Not sure if that’s true for all Walmarts but I’ll prob be stopping every couple days to check. Keep up the good work Steve! 🤙🏽

That World Of Outlaws game at 1:13 is quite decent if you enjoy racing games, but the damage model isn't perfectly realistic, but they are 900 horsepower beasts with very little grip that are hard to hang onto at first.

Yeah i work at walmart and came in on Wednesday and got unicorn overlord for $30 new and star ocean second story r for 20 new and a couple other games for $5.00 each. Any time you can get a new atlus game for $30. Not bad. Got them for the switch

I hope that it's not what they are planning to do , because I've always been a case disc owner at least 90% of my games are all discs , the rest is digital because gamestop didn't have the games in stock at the time I actually miss the time when I didn't have to download the disc game into the console to be able to play it , it was simple when all you had to do is put your disc in and just start playing and you didn't have to worry that much about storage space in your console

cool you got those, but i'm not going to bother... Walmart's near me never put them on clearance. I've checked in the past when these clearances come up and they will put them on sale but never clearance. I have also learned these clearances are usually regional and never price matched.
Gran Turismo is not worth getting a physical copy since GT4. GT5,GTS,GT6 are all offline now and access to some content is gone. GT7 is even worse because most of the game is not available offline. PD have really dropped the ball on modern GT games it’s very disappointing.
My best Wal-Mart find? Sin and Punishment 2 for three cents. Heck yeah! (Technically they weren't even supposed to sell it for that price, but they did it anyway!) BTW, that Strike Bowling game is pretty decent. It helps to like bowling, of course.
Got two Walmarts by me and both of them have gutted electronics sections. Shelves are always pretty much bare. A couple newer releases but that’s it. 😢

My local Walmart routinely puts games in the clearance aisle. I’ve gotten games like Hades for Switch at $5, five nights at Freddy’s collection for switch $10, South Park stick of truth $5, and so on. Look in the clearance section that most Walmarts have. Just as a side note and question: does anyone else have a Walmart in their area that has prices on older pops and games set at eBay prices? I know of one in Alabama that has older pops and other collectibles set at eBay prices and I wonder if anyone else encountered this?
Oh also check targets as well and get a red card and link your debit to it. If you encounter a sale for a game and use your red card to pay, you get an extra 5% off. Sadly Target in my area gets raided for Switch games.
I regret buying digital games for years I want to start a game collection. Should I start with old games I’ve played? Or old consoles and games I never to played like the Pokémon’s on the 3DS?

When I saw your video for this it was 3 days later. I then went to a few Wal-marts out of curiosity and it was toooooooo late. All the Switch games on sale were practically cleaned out. 🥺 Just Incredible. ( BTW with the Switch games they even had Unicorn Overlord priced at $30 and the new Star Ocean game for $20!! 😲)

Those 3 cent games are supposed to be sent back to the distributor and selling them can get the employee in trouble for doing so.

Man, I’m a say you must’ve lucked up on one hell of a Walmart employee because them three cent games as many people have said aren’t even supposed to ring that I try to get a few myself and the system straight up denies it both a regular register and self check out.
I hope that it's not what they are planning to do , because I've always been a case disc owner at least 90% of my games are all discs , the rest is digital because gamestop didn't have the games in stock at the time
I actually miss the time when I didn't have to download the disc game into the console to be able to play it , it was simple when all you had to do is put your disc in and just start playing and you didn't have to worry that much about storage space in your console
I headed to couple Walmarts as soon as I seen Wario64 tweeting about this but my Walmarts where all picked clean 😢

cool you got those, but i'm not going to bother... Walmart's near me never put them on clearance. I've checked in the past when these clearances come up and they will put them on sale but never clearance. I have also learned these clearances are usually regional and never price matched.
I found Tony Hawk pro skater 1+ 2 for .03 cents and they wouldn’t sell them to me.
You’ll never properly own a game ever again. Just buy a lease to play a game with a digital card for a full price.

Gran Turismo is not worth getting a physical copy since GT4. GT5,GTS,GT6 are all offline now and access to some content is gone. GT7 is even worse because most of the game is not available offline. PD have really dropped the ball on modern GT games it’s very disappointing.
My best Wal-Mart find? Sin and Punishment 2 for three cents. Heck yeah! (Technically they weren't even supposed to sell it for that price, but they did it anyway!)
BTW, that Strike Bowling game is pretty decent. It helps to like bowling, of course.

4 walmarts and all sold out. But i did end up finding Fire Emblem for 20 so its all worth it.

Got two Walmarts by me and both of them have gutted electronics sections. Shelves are always pretty much bare. A couple newer releases but that’s it. 😢

I just went to my local Walmart for COD Vanguard. They wouldn’t sell them to me. Said there was a recall.
I found Super Mario Strikers for the Switch for 3 cents but they wouldn't sell it to me. I was bummed but I found a ton of the same ones you found in your hunts.

My local Walmart routinely puts games in the clearance aisle. I’ve gotten games like Hades for Switch at $5, five nights at Freddy’s collection for switch $10, South Park stick of truth $5, and so on. Look in the clearance section that most Walmarts have.
Just as a side note and question: does anyone else have a Walmart in their area that has prices on older pops and games set at eBay prices? I know of one in Alabama that has older pops and other collectibles set at eBay prices and I wonder if anyone else encountered this?

Oh also check targets as well and get a red card and link your debit to it. If you encounter a sale for a game and use your red card to pay, you get an extra 5% off. Sadly Target in my area gets raided for Switch games.
