Yes. It seems that people are very torn on this. If you're camping and you can put it in the back of a car and just feed a cable out, you'll be fine. Equally, if you're pulling hundreds of watts, expect noise. You're never going to avoid that with current tech. However, it can be loud with fairly low draw which is a problem for me personally. It is otherwise a superb device 👍🏻
@@tdcattechThe new Delta versions, especially the Delta 2 are much quieter running (I sleep with one next to me in the car. The car fridge actually is louder). I do agree with you about the huge problem of not being able to charge any of the Delta extra battery range separately (including the new "2" versions). I often need to keep devices (such as the fridge) operating while it's connected to a battery station, at the same time charging a depleted battery via solar panels. This is just not possible with the smart battery (not so smart 😂).
So glad I saw this. Excellent review, saved me making an expensive mistake. The fan noise is beyond unacceptable, it would have rendered the Delta max next to useless for my needs. I will not be placing my order. Going a different road now. Many thanks for making this review, it was well balanced, told the good and the bad, the truth.
Thanks for that. I think they make solid, quality products but if you want to use this in a quiet environment, this is not the one for you. Delta Mini is quieter (but not what I would call quiet) and the Delta 2 reports seem mixed around noise but I can’t really comment as I don’t have a unit.
@@tdcattech I assume all of these Li Ion power stations or solar generators have very similar cooling requirements so fan noise is a big factor. Funny enough it is hardly mentioned in any of the main manufacturers "buy me" stuff. I might spring for a smaller capacity and much quieter Li battery unit, I am looking at power oak, but now that you have put us all staring, I am investigating the noise levels on everything first. Keep your eye on this sector because people want to know the truth and good reviewers will be in high demand going forwards. I suppose they will fix the fan noise in time, but the chemistry as it stands is what it is, temperatures must be kept down for safety. Last thing you want is a silent unit that burns the house down. regards.
Absolutely. Moving power and converting voltages etc. is just massively inefficient and creates heat. Safety has to be first. I doubt EcoFlow will like this review, even though it's largely positive but I welcome your feedback! 👍🏻
@@tdcattech This is the essence of a good reviewer, you never worry if the manufacturer likes or dislikes your review, so long as its professional, balanced and truthful, which your review absolutely was. EcoFlow know that the noise issue will put a lot off their products (like me), so they have a good incentive to keep the product safe whilst significantly reducing the aircraft hangar sound effects!
When you need power during outages, there are no questions about noise. Same for fuel generators, compare their noise levels. but yes, some vendors now care about noise as well, for example Anker with their PowerHouse series.
I also really liked your very clear and thoughtful review. You brought up several points that I wouldn't have recognized until I was using one. Thanks!
Glad you found it useful. As I said in the review, it's a great product (that I still use every day) but there some things to watch out for that EcoFlow are never going to promote in their sales pitch.

Hi. I have both a delta (not max) and a delta pro. I agree with you in respect of noise. I do not have problems with the solar when leaving it connected all the time, nor do the units make any noise while trying to connect. But lets be honest I am in Spain and in most cases sun is not an issue here. As for switches to the AC plugs I use remote operated plugs and that with one remote allows me to switch on and off several devices. Thank you for you review!!
EcoFlow has now got back to me about the minimum solar power issue. Apparently, the unit consumes 25-30W itself, so any solar input below this cannot be used. That seems a lot, but I guess it makes sense.
It is really noisy. There's no denying that. Safety is paramount but I really wish they could implement my 'Silent Profile' as discussed in the video. Some people say the Delta Mini is very quiet in comparison but I am yet to test that.
I saw a video testing the EPS on the new delta 2, and i saw that it was pulling in 50w while outputting 40 W. The 10W difference for the invertor/unit itself, i found very large. It would be kind of neglectable if you would use powertools and run the whole battery in like 2 hours or so (just losing 20 watts of the total of 1024 to just the unit itself) but I find it a shame if you would have a low powerdraw situation of 50 watts and it kicking in, and thus being a relative 20% of your consumption and thereby losing your potential of drawing 50watts for 20 hours and now the realistic picture being 50+10 for 16ish hours. Like you said in your video it would be great to have a limiter to not kick the fans on even above 80W, this should also be discussed to see the real WH you get out if it with this draw of power. (Excuse me my comment is based on the delta 2)

Sorry for the long winded comment, but here it goes anyway .... First off - Wow, that is an impressive review video right there, very high quality and good, honest. unbiased information. Thank you! .... But, unfortunately it also confirmed my suspicions/worries about whether or not the Delta Max was going to have those same loud noise issues that the new Delta 2 units have. Hobotech & multiple other dissatisfied owners have already confirmed that fact for the D-2's.... Darn - after I cancelled my recent Delta 2 order (primarily due to the noise concern) my first thought was to wait for some price reductions, and then buy the Delta Max 2000 instead. I don't think so now. And the other thing that caught my attention in your review was the solar panel connectivity issues when it's left plugged into the panels overnight. I had seen that that was an issue with the Anker 757, but had never heard of it being a concern with any of the Ecoflow products. I have a Delta 1300, and it does not have that problem that I'm aware of. It starts delivering even very low amounts of solar (5-10w) to the power unit as soon as the morning sun hits the panels, w/o any interactions from myself whatsoever. And lastly, my Delta 1300 appears to be far less noisy (approx. 40 db when I/O loads exceed 200w) than either the Max or the D2 @ 60-65db each. As a result of all this, I am now strongly considering adding a 2nd Delta 1300 to my arsenal, and I'm also thinking of it's lack of app connectivity as somewhat of a merit rather than just as a liablity. Been using delta max in my home office with a number of computers conected to it. The fans are alamost never on, only when its charging whicb is like 30min long and only once a day max. Can confirm, fan noise is not a problem at all for me
You're the first review to mention noise... I guess that's why all the others are reviewed with it off. The extra batteries complete rip-off; you can buy an entire new unit for the price of a battery.
What models are the fans? There are huge variations in the noise levels of various types of fans, even at the same output level. Are they fdb (fluid dynamic bearing) type? Is there vibration isolation?
Not Delta max, but Delta 2 arrived today. Straight away I'm loving it vs the Anker 757. (12kg, not 20 kg 💪) Came 30% charged and leaving for Wales in a few hours. Charged it initially to 90 % in savagely quick time in 35 to 40 minutes on 1200 watts. It was really loud, but I didn't care as all I was bothered about was getting it charged before I go and I was in the shower anyway, then pottering about and packing up to go. Tried 600 watts, considerably quieter. Under load, also way quieter than anticipated . I plugged into solar as curiosity got the better of me. 187 watts going in in hazy sun. ANKER MAX was 160 in full sun. Happy to say completely silent taking in 187 watts. The fan did slightly kick in but I was up close and it was barely audible. Need to test if it takes in low 10 watts instead of chopping it off. Ap is brill realising WiFi and Bluetooth. Sorry to bore you, but I'm relieved... Extra battery and case apparently still on it's way, but I'm now sat in a vw camper, using it and glad to be happy with it so far👍
Not boring at all. This is exactly the feedback I was looking for. The noise issue is so subjective and people’s tolerance for fan noise varies enormously but it’s great to hear that there is a quieter mode. My Delta Max is currently charging from solar at 60W (it’s grey and miserable here in Bristol) and it’s silent 😁 🎉
Yes let me know the lowest level of solar the Delta 2 will accept. I often have 10w or so coming in and my current Anchor 535 takes in 6w 8w 10w solar no problem and over days and days it is useful. If the Delta 2 takes low level solar I'd love to know.
I love my Delta 2000w fan and all. I never thought about the noise until I saw this review. Charges very fast when needed. Probably better on the battery if one uses it when is an emergency. Combines with 2x 220 bifacial panels and a 2200w propane generator. Bring on the hurricanes. Ecoflow thought of everything. I encourage you to look at other reviews before you walk away from this.
Not sure if this is directed at me personally but I am certainly not walking away. It’s a great, solid product. These are just some things people should be aware of. I actually charge a smaller battery from the Delta Max and use that when I need silence. The Delta does the heavier lifting.

You would be crazy to purchase a lithium ion battery powered generator at this point (unless you are looking to score a deal on an older model). LiFePO4 is the new standard and should be prioritized when selecting a new unit!

Could this be used as an net stabeliser? Here we have lots of issues of electronics going bad because of net fluctuations def when we have a power outage and it gets turned on again.
Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to keep dust and dirt out of the outputs? I was thinking of putting in those outlet socket plugs on the AC outputs but haven't thought of anything for the rest of the unit. Any ideas?

I am fine with the fan noise when the battery is being used, whether it is charged or discharged. Cooling the battery is my highest priority. Having said that, when cool, they are cool. My biggest problem is when AC-in is connected and AC-out is used. If the Delta would have a real transfer switch it would have no need for so much cooling, instead they do some kind of AC->DC->AC chain which forces the fan to start cooling. I ordered a real transfer switch and will connect my Delta 2 to the generator connection of it. 150 euro for something EcoFlow should have build in. The solar input problem you might be able to solve my using a small separate 12 volt battery and a mppt controller that has a programmable load port. I use a Victron 75 15 to charge an external 12 volt battery and when voltage on that is high enough the load port is opened and stream electricity until a certain low voltage is reached. You don't need a large 12 volt battery for that and can also use the victron Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 (12/24V) which has 10 amps output. Yes external battery's...... the are expensive and have no way to charge them or use them other then connecting to the main unit.... might as well buy another unit
Really useful review, thanks. I have just bought a Delta Pro and can say that the advantages and disadvantages you have highlighted here apply equally to the Pro. Overall, I like it, but have to keep it in my (somewhat dusty) tool shed because of the noise the thing generates which is less than ideal as I worry about dust getting into the device - causing issues later on.
have to agree noise is an issue. i finish work about 2am each night and use it to power my office until 6am added a timer to the mains input so start charging from my houses solar after 9am i brought a plastic garden box lined it with car noise suppressing sheets take the edge off can watch UA-cam or a movie with it in the room power was then the issue office uses 260w. so was getting about 5 hours (haven't done your calibration) so having a 48v lithium scooter battery i rigged up a 48v to 24v 20amp converter to the xt60 increase battery life to over a day may get the extra battery and the generator in the future if needs change but working fine for now
Brilliant! Exactly what I needed with respect to noise. I looking for a unit for a van-camper conversion. Also, noted that EcoFlow batteries use NCM battery technology. Most of the Bluettis use LFP batteries at a much lower price point. Any ideas what product may be the quietest? I'm building out a Toyota Sienna camper and my wife will be using a CPAP. I was hoping to enjoy the quiet of the outdoors, not the techno-noise of the indoors.
Very interesting and informative video, with your open and relaxed style you could easily move to television presenting. This is the first none biased video on the new Delta range and the fan noise is barely mentioned in other reviews. I am considering the Delta 2 and it's not hard to assume it has the same issues, ideally when considering the price, it would be good to see and hear one before buying. Will subscribe and check out your other videos.
All fair points for me personally the noise is too much for my use case it’s in my van that I live in full time having the fans fans running at full speed the majority of the day is horrible, if you are using this for back up power or camping you can plug in an extension lead and stick it in another room this is the reason for the difference in opinion on the noise I think I’m planning on doing a fan swap in a few weeks with will hopefully get it to the same noise level as the delta 2 but unfortunately it won’t alter the fan curve it’s self
hi, you say solar charger is limited to 13 amps, but if you see the rear cautions says max 100v 10A, mine is a delta max and thats the same label, is anything we dont know to can go to 13 amps? thanks, regards.
Great video. It’s also useful for charging other power generators while you are using your 100v solar panels to charge the delta max. This throughput charging allows lesser powered generators to charge while you charge the `delta Max at the same time.
Hi Im live in a Barge in Uk .Ive got all ready solar Panels with battery Bank.Im thinking to by the Ecoflow 2000 .I was wandering if you can use in parallel with solar panel and charge my Lesure battery is well.Anyway great video
Others may know better but I don't think that would work. The EcoFlow has an MPPT controller on-board. I would imagine that connecting another battery or controller up to that would mess things up. You could, of course, just charge your leisure battery from the output of the Delta Max but that would be less efficient. I often do something similar but not with a leisure battery.

What DC load causes the fan to kick in? I’m hoping to run a 5amp / 60w load on 12V DC and it will be a non-starter if that causes noisy fans to run. Will be running a fridge in a camper van and I’ll be sleeping right next to it. Thanks!
Yes! This is one of the most annoying things. You would expect it to bypass heat generating stuff when in UPS mode (AC in and fully charged) but it still comes on all the time. The best product I have used for a true UPS is this on from Anker - geni.us/solixc1000 - Though this will still power up a fan when you hit 400-500W AC bypass. That's good enough for me though. As long as it's not making a noise at 100W AC, I'm happy.

Fridge, yes. Oven, depends. Our main kitchen oven uses too much for this but you could happily power a table top. Dishwasher, maybe. Ours uses 2.6kW during a heating cycle so that would work fine.
hi i found your review while i was looking for an ecoflow power bank we have a narrowboat so it would come in handy when we are out cruising ,but at home i have an xtool laser [120.watts ]i think its output is and a macbook pro for the software would this be suitable as i am hearing negative reviews from people saying that they need constantly charging as the unit discharges quickly [i guess it depends on what you plug into it ]so any info would be usefull as you seem to be using yours daily also things like toasters kettles air fryers have you tried these things please , take care stay safe , thanks.
No. The only input is the connection to the main battery. The charging is fairly sensible. The solar power goes into the main battery at e.g. 400W and it will split the charging so the Max will charge the spare at about 200W and itself at 200W.
If you buy a 'ring' model 12 volt dc to 240 v ac watt, low wattage inverter of a couple of hundred watts max output, from halfords, it still has noisy fans. What do you want it do work without overheating or be cooled, which will always involve fans ? A petrol generator is many times louder.
I agree. Of course it's fine for most use but it would be nice if the output power could be capped to keep fan noise to a minimum. It really depends how you use this type of product.
Really loud to me is my husqvarna backpack blower screaming in two stroke. My 8000 watt generac is quite loud. The delta max does sound loud, thank you for sharing that. I haven’t heard it mentioned. Sort of reminds me of a big bathroom fan maybe? I’d just leave it in the garage or other room and run a cord from it to my appliance haha.
Yes. There are ways around it and for many people the noise will not matter at all but it's worth being aware of so you can make an informed decision. That's my job 👍🏻.
Ive been wondering this for a long time before buying it, i live in a apartment so im looking for something that doesn’t make a lot of noise, is the Delta 2 quieter?
I haven't tested it but from what I have seen in other videos, no. There is little if any difference in this regard. I have since tested the Delta Mini. It's considerably quieter than this Max but it is not, as someone put it, "whisper quiet". The sound is very noticeable in a quiet environment.
Do you recommend getting the eco 400w Solar or sauce another brand for cheaper? I’m about to get the delta max but weighing up about either 200w or 400 w for camping.
The EcoFlow solar panels are overpriced. What you get depends on the space you have but for the price of 1x400W EcoFlow, you can get 1.3kW of Renogy rigid panels. Clearly that would take up loads and f space etc etc but you get the idea value wise.
I will purchase EcoFlow Delta Max because it is portable, versatile, and has enough wattage to support almost everything. It is much cheaper and lighter than Ecoflow Delta Pro. It is also expandable. I will put it on my time machine for my backup power. It will crank the power to time travel. A noisy fan from EcoFlow Max helps to deter sabotage from intruders. If the case of a mishap disaster when I am stranded somewhere in a time and place, the EcoFlow Delta Max solar generator with solar panels will be my lifesaver. It helps me to escape alive from the nightmare of the Twilight Zone! 👍🤣👍
Just waching your take on this. Like you, I wanted to leave this hooked up to Solar full term and it charge without intervention every day. I just ordered delta 2 and a spare battery in favour of returning Anker 757 as this ends up with a clicking noise on dusk and needs unplugging and refuses to charge from sun up without unplugging the xt60 and plugging it back in again but will charge at even 2 watts of a grey day. Am I wasting my time you think if the eco flow won't charge unless its getting at least 30 watts of solar?! What seemed clear is becoming a pain and more of a mind field than I thought. Your take on this would be cool... You also have me thinking should I have ordered 2 main units instead of the battery add on 🤷
@@tdcattech If you have the time to test this, do you think you mind doing a test (just a mention in the video) on battery leakage through time? Like fully charging the device and letting it sit for a month to see if the batteries hold their charge. I wouldnt know if there is a standard difference or just a normal amount on lithium ion batteries. (once saw on a package of normale rechargable AA that stated there should be 75% left after a year of sitting on a shelf, discharging through time alone)
Depends if you want the extra 400Wh of capacity. The 2000 also has better battery cycle life (800 cycles vs. 500) and a slightly better inverter (2,400W vs. 2,000W).
Yes. As it has a mains in, you’d need to use the mains inverter but it only consumes 41W so you could probably run the Pioneer for at least 24 hours (factoring in losses and inefficiency). If you’d want to run speakers too, you could but that would reduce your run time.

Yes. The Delta Max has 4 mains outputs so you just plug it in and turn it on. You could run your whole setup for 8 hours+ from this (plug both your speakers into the mains too) but if you only want to power the Pioneer, a Delta Mini would do great and is much more portable.
The inverter would handle the power (even a 12,000 BTU air conditioner wouldn't need more than 1.4-1.5kW) but it wouldn't last very long. Maybe 2 hours max.
I completely agree about the fan noise, I emailed Ecoflow asking them if it was possible to control the fan or restrict the performance similar to what you asked them , they said it could not be done, I even moved the device from my office to another part of the house to get way from the noise, in the end I sent it back as its just to loud for my environment, I’ve bought a delta mini which is silent and I am waiting for the delta 2, hopefully it doesn’t have the same fan noise issue.
That is a real shame. It's fantastic to hear that the Delta Mini is quiet but it's also much less capable than the Max. I do hope this is improved in the new higher power models.
I've received by Delta 2 and it is much quieter, the trick is to charge it at anything below 900w, anything above that will put the fans on but nothing like the noise the Delta Max makes.
Good Job! I been seen a lot reviews about those products where people are going way beyond their Wattage capacity to "prove their running power ability". In other words. This people are abusing those products specification just get viewers hits and likes on You Tube!
Great review, I have been looking at these for a couple days and this is the first time that it being loud has really sunk in. The delta 2 is interesting, but I wanted to 2000w of the delta max. I was hoping to catch this sale, but now I don't know what I want to do....
Mains inverters always need cooling but there are good and bad ways of cooling and shifting air around. These seem to be louder than the competition. Good product though.
Yes, I have done that for a few devices. Most smart plugs won't fit directly into the device if you try to use more than one but that's no problem. I actually lean more towards avoiding the mains inverter completely due to noise and use USB, PD and DC12V for everything I can.
Oh i see; you have a delta max; that's not the same as the delta 2 max - is that right? ecoflow Delta 2 with extra battery included the fans on the delta 2 max are quieter? extra battery is super high. walmart in the us is selling the delta 2 max unit itself for $1,399.00 and the extra battery is about the same in some stores - over $1000 usd. for that price i could just link 2 units? @@tdcattech yea on the time remaining. I'm from South Africa so we use it for something called loadshedding, where the government has scheduled blackouts every day. Around 2 to 4 hours at a time and around 2 to 4 times a day. So this thing is keeping all my work equipment and WiFi up during these blackouts. I also had my fridge plugged into it before I moved. The battery accuracy with all my computer's off and just the WiFi and fridge on, is within 10 to 15min time remaining before it goes out. And with my computer's on its about 30min to 45min off. It's also only loud when its charging right after loadshedding and if the day didn't have any, it's only loud for like 15min a day as it just keeps itself topped up. I also have it set to not charge more than 95% and not go lower than 10%
I have the Delta pro and I like a lot of people store these things in the garage or basement by the electrical panel. Mine in the basement is no more annoying than white noise for me. There in my basement and with the fans running I could watch TV without really having to turn the volume up at all. Your recording of the noise is misleading because you probably had the mic right next to the unit. Compare this to a generator and most other units that put out this kind of power and I doubt you find anything much quieter.
Now I'm stropping about loud fan noise on the ecoflow. The Anker is pretty quiet even if 1000watt charging it. I want to carry on with about 180 watt solar which might keep the fans to a minimum without 1200 watt mains making it cry?? I get you can adjust the app to charge at lower wattages. I agree that in winter my 180 watt solar will significantly drop. All I want to do is minimally power my working from home, broadband router, a bit of led lighting and a couple of monitors with a surface pro hooked up for an 8.5 hour day. Is this too much to ask 🤷🤣
It's possible to use it by connecting directly to the EcoFlow (so the EcoFlow becomes the Wi-Fi access point) but this still requires an app. It requires it to support current operating systems and exist on the app store.
Thank you for this information, I have been looking at these all in one power supply options, but I have come to the conclusion that for me (in a mobile application) that a setup with separate components is a far better option, solar panels that are connected all the time/ mppt solar charger/ 240v battery charger / 2000Ah lithium battery / a generator when needed / inverter. I run on solar all day and batteries at night, with this setup I can charge out each component as required, I don’t need any firmware updates ever, also my smartphone and iPad I carry in a faraday pouch (eBay), so big brother tracking is avoided. But the worst thing about all of there’s all in ones power stations is the OUTRAGEOUS COST and don’t even talk about trying to get any sort of warranty or repairs. P.S. with this setup it is costing about £300 a year for petrol, stuff being connected to mains power 🤪.
So the fans comes on, big deal... It's still much quieter than operating a generator. It doesn't sound like an aircraft taking off, nor landing... I have mine placed in my downstairs guest room and it sounds no louder than the bathroom vent so no complaints here about the db created by it. I'm glad I have a backup power system which I can use (if needed) for outages at night.
Hang on a minute, the device draws power when solar is plugged-in but not charging?! I was hoping to have it plugged into solar indefinitely at my off-grid cabin. Will need to re-think this purchase...
This is more of a problem when the batteries are already low. So if the solar input is e.g. 15W, the system will never shut down and might be using 20W just being on. This obviously leaves you with net -5W which isn't ideal, particularly if your batteries are already low. Official response from support is below. "After checking with the engineering team, the clicking sound is from the Internal buzzer. It is normal from what we know. However, we still recommend not using solar charging at night and on cloudy or rainy days, because when the unit is in a low battery and the current input power of the solar panel is very low, the unit will always be determined under charging status and does not shut down. Meanwhile, the consumption of the standby power is higher than the input power, causing the battery voltage to leak and affect the battery life. Currently, we don't have a solution for this unplugging problem, but I will send your case and feedback to the R&D team again."
As a veteran of the 1st gen PS4 days, my Delta 2’s noise output is not that bad! But, then again, i only use it for car camping and emergency power outages!
Would you put the battery in the car then to keep the noise down? I must admit that I've never used this in a camping scenario but it gets pretty quiet at night and this thing whirring up in a neighbours tent would be irritating, surely? 🤷🏻♂️
@@tdcattech - Yes. I typically run it during the day to run/charge all my electrical needs. However, at night it is place in my SUV to power my ICECO fridge only! But, who knows, maybe that white noise ambience produced by those fans would lull me to sleep faster…
Good review but it is old now, they have improved the noise issues among other upgrades, watch Todd Parker review for those that are interested in this unit.
I haven't heard much about that but will investigate. The percentage on my Delta Max is a complete joke. I've calibrated it multiple times and that does seem to work. However, when I've used it for a few days (recharging partially from solar) it just drops back to total nonsense. I have run my gear for over 24 hours on 1%!!!! It has no idea where it is. I don't expect perfection in this regard, but some idea of power remaining would be nice.
@@tdcattech it’s good that it runs at 1% (even though the display is misleading). My Delta Mini seems to be shutting down according to this ridiculous time remaining. With 882 capacity it turns off in about 3 hours with 60-100 watts output. I’m very frustrated and dunno what to do😢
£1100 for 2KWh - they are absolutely having a laugh. I have 4x100+Ah lead acid batteries in my shed connected to a 2KW inverter with lorry jumper cables. The whole thing cost about £600 and gives me 4KWh of stored capacity. So that's around £125/KWh. A quarter of the cost of this. However, I AM impressed by the 13A up to 100V DC solar input. That's very nice.
Oh yes. Cost / kWh is ridiculous on these devices compared to the type of setup you're talking about. They are very, very easy and convenient though which could never be matched in some situations.

Yes. It seems that people are very torn on this. If you're camping and you can put it in the back of a car and just feed a cable out, you'll be fine. Equally, if you're pulling hundreds of watts, expect noise. You're never going to avoid that with current tech. However, it can be loud with fairly low draw which is a problem for me personally. It is otherwise a superb device 👍🏻

I do agree with you about the huge problem of not being able to charge any of the Delta extra battery range separately (including the new "2" versions). I often need to keep devices (such as the fridge) operating while it's connected to a battery station, at the same time charging a depleted battery via solar panels. This is just not possible with the smart battery (not so smart 😂).
So glad I saw this. Excellent review, saved me making an expensive mistake. The fan noise is beyond unacceptable, it would have rendered the Delta max next to useless for my needs. I will not be placing my order. Going a different road now. Many thanks for making this review, it was well balanced, told the good and the bad, the truth.
Thanks for that. I think they make solid, quality products but if you want to use this in a quiet environment, this is not the one for you. Delta Mini is quieter (but not what I would call quiet) and the Delta 2 reports seem mixed around noise but I can’t really comment as I don’t have a unit.
@@tdcattech I assume all of these Li Ion power stations or solar generators have very similar cooling requirements so fan noise is a big factor. Funny enough it is hardly mentioned in any of the main manufacturers "buy me" stuff. I might spring for a smaller capacity and much quieter Li battery unit, I am looking at power oak, but now that you have put us all staring, I am investigating the noise levels on everything first. Keep your eye on this sector because people want to know the truth and good reviewers will be in high demand going forwards. I suppose they will fix the fan noise in time, but the chemistry as it stands is what it is, temperatures must be kept down for safety. Last thing you want is a silent unit that burns the house down. regards.
Absolutely. Moving power and converting voltages etc. is just massively inefficient and creates heat. Safety has to be first. I doubt EcoFlow will like this review, even though it's largely positive but I welcome your feedback! 👍🏻
@@tdcattech This is the essence of a good reviewer, you never worry if the manufacturer likes or dislikes your review, so long as its professional, balanced and truthful, which your review absolutely was. EcoFlow know that the noise issue will put a lot off their products (like me), so they have a good incentive to keep the product safe whilst significantly reducing the aircraft hangar sound effects!
When you need power during outages, there are no questions about noise. Same for fuel generators, compare their noise levels. but yes, some vendors now care about noise as well, for example Anker with their PowerHouse series.

Hi. I have both a delta (not max) and a delta pro. I agree with you in respect of noise. I do not have problems with the solar when leaving it connected all the time, nor do the units make any noise while trying to connect. But lets be honest I am in Spain and in most cases sun is not an issue here. As for switches to the AC plugs I use remote operated plugs and that with one remote allows me to switch on and off several devices. Thank you for you review!!

EcoFlow has now got back to me about the minimum solar power issue. Apparently, the unit consumes 25-30W itself, so any solar input below this cannot be used. That seems a lot, but I guess it makes sense.
I'm thinking I need to keep the Anker 757. The fan sounds like a puddy tat purring in comparison too 🤷
It is really noisy. There's no denying that. Safety is paramount but I really wish they could implement my 'Silent Profile' as discussed in the video. Some people say the Delta Mini is very quiet in comparison but I am yet to test that.
I saw a video testing the EPS on the new delta 2, and i saw that it was pulling in 50w while outputting 40 W. The 10W difference for the invertor/unit itself, i found very large. It would be kind of neglectable if you would use powertools and run the whole battery in like 2 hours or so (just losing 20 watts of the total of 1024 to just the unit itself) but I find it a shame if you would have a low powerdraw situation of 50 watts and it kicking in, and thus being a relative 20% of your consumption and thereby losing your potential of drawing 50watts for 20 hours and now the realistic picture being 50+10 for 16ish hours. Like you said in your video it would be great to have a limiter to not kick the fans on even above 80W, this should also be discussed to see the real WH you get out if it with this draw of power. (Excuse me my comment is based on the delta 2)
@@tdcattech Ecoflow Delta 1300watt....Buyer Beware ...It never stops charging. They don't return my e-mail. Concern that it might catch on fire. Have had it for 2 1/2 months. Think twice before spending more than $ 1,000.00 dollars. Besides I am afraid to leave it out of my sight that it might burn down my house

Sorry for the long winded comment, but here it goes anyway .... First off - Wow, that is an impressive review video right there, very high quality and good, honest. unbiased information. Thank you! .... But, unfortunately it also confirmed my suspicions/worries about whether or not the Delta Max was going to have those same loud noise issues that the new Delta 2 units have. Hobotech & multiple other dissatisfied owners have already confirmed that fact for the D-2's.... Darn - after I cancelled my recent Delta 2 order (primarily due to the noise concern) my first thought was to wait for some price reductions, and then buy the Delta Max 2000 instead. I don't think so now. And the other thing that caught my attention in your review was the solar panel connectivity issues when it's left plugged into the panels overnight. I had seen that that was an issue with the Anker 757, but had never heard of it being a concern with any of the Ecoflow products. I have a Delta 1300, and it does not have that problem that I'm aware of. It starts delivering even very low amounts of solar (5-10w) to the power unit as soon as the morning sun hits the panels, w/o any interactions from myself whatsoever. And lastly, my Delta 1300 appears to be far less noisy (approx. 40 db when I/O loads exceed 200w) than either the Max or the D2 @ 60-65db each. As a result of all this, I am now strongly considering adding a 2nd Delta 1300 to my arsenal, and I'm also thinking of it's lack of app connectivity as somewhat of a merit rather than just as a liablity. Been using delta max in my home office with a number of computers conected to it. The fans are alamost never on, only when its charging whicb is like 30min long and only once a day max.

What models are the fans? There are huge variations in the noise levels of various types of fans, even at the same output level. Are they fdb (fluid dynamic bearing) type? Is there vibration isolation?
Not Delta max, but Delta 2 arrived today. Straight away I'm loving it vs the Anker 757. (12kg, not 20 kg 💪) Came 30% charged and leaving for Wales in a few hours. Charged it initially to 90 % in savagely quick time in 35 to 40 minutes on 1200 watts. It was really loud, but I didn't care as all I was bothered about was getting it charged before I go and I was in the shower anyway, then pottering about and packing up to go. Tried 600 watts, considerably quieter. Under load, also way quieter than anticipated . I plugged into solar as curiosity got the better of me. 187 watts going in in hazy sun. ANKER MAX was 160 in full sun. Happy to say completely silent taking in 187 watts. The fan did slightly kick in but I was up close and it was barely audible. Need to test if it takes in low 10 watts instead of chopping it off. Ap is brill realising WiFi and Bluetooth. Sorry to bore you, but I'm relieved... Extra battery and case apparently still on it's way, but I'm now sat in a vw camper, using it and glad to be happy with it so far👍
Not boring at all. This is exactly the feedback I was looking for. The noise issue is so subjective and people’s tolerance for fan noise varies enormously but it’s great to hear that there is a quieter mode. My Delta Max is currently charging from solar at 60W (it’s grey and miserable here in Bristol) and it’s silent 😁 🎉
Yes let me know the lowest level of solar the Delta 2 will accept. I often have 10w or so coming in and my current Anchor 535 takes in 6w 8w 10w solar no problem and over days and days it is useful. If the Delta 2 takes low level solar I'd love to know.
I love my Delta 2000w fan and all. I never thought about the noise until I saw this review. Charges very fast when needed. Probably better on the battery if one uses it when is an emergency. Combines with 2x 220 bifacial panels and a 2200w propane generator. Bring on the hurricanes. Ecoflow thought of everything. I encourage you to look at other reviews before you walk away from this.
Not sure if this is directed at me personally but I am certainly not walking away. It’s a great, solid product. These are just some things people should be aware of. I actually charge a smaller battery from the Delta Max and use that when I need silence. The Delta does the heavier lifting.

I can't really tell how loud it is but they sell ear plugs so I'm not bothered. Rather have some noise and solar power than quiet and no electricity.

You would be crazy to purchase a lithium ion battery powered generator at this point (unless you are looking to score a deal on an older model). LiFePO4 is the new standard and should be prioritized when selecting a new unit!
I don't know if this option is available on the MAX but on the Delta 2 I have limited the input to 400W and the fans are not that loud.

Could this be used as an net stabeliser? Here we have lots of issues of electronics going bad because of net fluctuations def when we have a power outage and it gets turned on again.
Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to keep dust and dirt out of the outputs? I was thinking of putting in those outlet socket plugs on the AC outputs but haven't thought of anything for the rest of the unit. Any ideas?

I am fine with the fan noise when the battery is being used, whether it is charged or discharged. Cooling the battery is my highest priority. Having said that, when cool, they are cool.
My biggest problem is when AC-in is connected and AC-out is used. If the Delta would have a real transfer switch it would have no need for so much cooling, instead they do some kind of AC->DC->AC chain which forces the fan to start cooling.
I ordered a real transfer switch and will connect my Delta 2 to the generator connection of it. 150 euro for something EcoFlow should have build in.
The solar input problem you might be able to solve my using a small separate 12 volt battery and a mppt controller that has a programmable load port. I use a Victron 75 15 to charge an external 12 volt battery and when voltage on that is high enough the load port is opened and stream electricity until a certain low voltage is reached. You don't need a large 12 volt battery for that and can also use the victron Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 (12/24V) which has 10 amps output.
Yes external battery's...... the are expensive and have no way to charge them or use them other then connecting to the main unit.... might as well buy another unit

Really useful review, thanks. I have just bought a Delta Pro and can say that the advantages and disadvantages you have highlighted here apply equally to the Pro. Overall, I like it, but have to keep it in my (somewhat dusty) tool shed because of the noise the thing generates which is less than ideal as I worry about dust getting into the device - causing issues later on.

have to agree noise is an issue. i finish work about 2am each night and use it to power my office until 6am added a timer to the mains input so start charging from my houses solar after 9am
i brought a plastic garden box lined it with car noise suppressing sheets take the edge off can watch UA-cam or a movie with it in the room power was then the issue office uses 260w. so was getting about 5 hours (haven't done your calibration) so having a 48v lithium scooter battery i rigged up a 48v to 24v 20amp converter to the xt60 increase battery life to over a day
may get the extra battery and the generator in the future if needs change but working fine for now
Brilliant! Exactly what I needed with respect to noise. I looking for a unit for a van-camper conversion. Also, noted that EcoFlow batteries use NCM battery technology. Most of the Bluettis use LFP batteries at a much lower price point. Any ideas what product may be the quietest? I'm building out a Toyota Sienna camper and my wife will be using a CPAP. I was hoping to enjoy the quiet of the outdoors, not the techno-noise of the indoors.
Very interesting and informative video, with your open and relaxed style you could easily move to television presenting. This is the first none biased video on the new Delta range and the fan noise is barely mentioned in other reviews. I am considering the Delta 2 and it's not hard to assume it has the same issues, ideally when considering the price, it would be good to see and hear one before buying. Will subscribe and check out your other videos.
All fair points for me personally the noise is too much for my use case it’s in my van that I live in full time having the fans fans running at full speed the majority of the day is horrible, if you are using this for back up power or camping you can plug in an extension lead and stick it in another room this is the reason for the difference in opinion on the noise I think
I’m planning on doing a fan swap in a few weeks with will hopefully get it to the same noise level as the delta 2 but unfortunately it won’t alter the fan curve it’s self
hi, you say solar charger is limited to 13 amps, but if you see the rear cautions says max 100v 10A, mine is a delta max and thats the same label, is anything we dont know to can go to 13 amps? thanks, regards.
Great video. It’s also useful for charging other power generators while you are using your 100v solar panels to charge the delta max. This throughput charging allows lesser powered generators to charge while you charge the `delta Max at the same time.

Others may know better but I don't think that would work. The EcoFlow has an MPPT controller on-board. I would imagine that connecting another battery or controller up to that would mess things up. You could, of course, just charge your leisure battery from the output of the Delta Max but that would be less efficient. I often do something similar but not with a leisure battery.

What DC load causes the fan to kick in? I’m hoping to run a 5amp / 60w load on 12V DC and it will be a non-starter if that causes noisy fans to run. Will be running a fridge in a camper van and I’ll be sleeping right next to it. Thanks!

Yes! This is one of the most annoying things. You would expect it to bypass heat generating stuff when in UPS mode (AC in and fully charged) but it still comes on all the time. The best product I have used for a true UPS is this on from Anker - geni.us/solixc1000 - Though this will still power up a fan when you hit 400-500W AC bypass. That's good enough for me though. As long as it's not making a noise at 100W AC, I'm happy.

This is because NCM battery cannot operate over 45 degrees, so the unit tries to cold it down as hard as it can with fans.
The fans are only for the inverter / dc section the batteries are not actively cooled
Can the Delta Max be used to power a refridgerator, or electric oven, dishwasher?
Fridge, yes. Oven, depends. Our main kitchen oven uses too much for this but you could happily power a table top. Dishwasher, maybe. Ours uses 2.6kW during a heating cycle so that would work fine.
hi i found your review while i was looking for an ecoflow power bank we have a narrowboat so it would come in handy when we are out cruising ,but at home i have an xtool laser [120.watts ]i think its output is and a macbook pro for the software would this be suitable as i am hearing negative reviews from people saying that they need constantly charging as the unit discharges quickly [i guess it depends on what you plug into it ]so any info would be usefull as you seem to be using yours daily also things like toasters kettles air fryers have you tried these things please ,

One question! Does the extra batterie have a solar panel plug? Or does it charge while the main one if being charged?
No. The only input is the connection to the main battery. The charging is fairly sensible. The solar power goes into the main battery at e.g. 400W and it will split the charging so the Max will charge the spare at about 200W and itself at 200W.
about individual socket switching - just connect a power strip man....what is the problem?
Agreed. I sometimes use smart plugs on them. That works quite nicely too but I just thought it would be a nice feature.

The Delta Max 2 is much quieter. The fan comes on a little more often but it’s at least 10dB quieter by my measurements.
If you buy a 'ring' model 12 volt dc to 240 v ac watt, low wattage inverter of a couple of hundred watts max output, from halfords, it still has noisy fans. What do you want it do work without overheating or be cooled, which will always involve fans ? A petrol generator is many times louder.
I agree. Of course it's fine for most use but it would be nice if the output power could be capped to keep fan noise to a minimum. It really depends how you use this type of product.
Really loud to me is my husqvarna backpack blower screaming in two stroke.

Yes. There are ways around it and for many people the noise will not matter at all but it's worth being aware of so you can make an informed decision. That's my job 👍🏻.
Ive been wondering this for a long time before buying it, i live in a apartment so im looking for something that doesn’t make a lot of noise, is the Delta 2 quieter?
I haven't tested it but from what I have seen in other videos, no. There is little if any difference in this regard. I have since tested the Delta Mini. It's considerably quieter than this Max but it is not, as someone put it, "whisper quiet". The sound is very noticeable in a quiet environment.
Do you recommend getting the eco 400w Solar or sauce another brand for cheaper? I’m about to get the delta max but weighing up about either 200w or 400 w for camping.
The EcoFlow solar panels are overpriced. What you get depends on the space you have but for the price of 1x400W EcoFlow, you can get 1.3kW of Renogy rigid panels. Clearly that would take up loads and f space etc etc but you get the idea value wise.

I will purchase EcoFlow Delta Max because it is portable, versatile, and has enough wattage to support almost everything. It is much cheaper and lighter than Ecoflow Delta Pro. It is also expandable. I will put it on my time machine for my backup power. It will crank the power to time travel. A noisy fan from EcoFlow Max helps to deter sabotage from intruders. If the case of a mishap disaster when I am stranded somewhere in a time and place, the EcoFlow Delta Max solar generator with solar panels will be my lifesaver. It helps me to escape alive from the nightmare of the Twilight Zone! 👍🤣👍

Just waching your take on this. Like you, I wanted to leave this hooked up to Solar full term and it charge without intervention every day. I just ordered delta 2 and a spare battery in favour of returning Anker 757 as this ends up with a clicking noise on dusk and needs unplugging and refuses to charge from sun up without unplugging the xt60 and plugging it back in again but will charge at even 2 watts of a grey day. Am I wasting my time you think if the eco flow won't charge unless its getting at least 30 watts of solar?! What seemed clear is becoming a pain and more of a mind field than I thought. Your take on this would be cool... You also have me thinking should I have ordered 2 main units instead of the battery add on 🤷

@@tdcattech If you have the time to test this, do you think you mind doing a test (just a mention in the video) on battery leakage through time? Like fully charging the device and letting it sit for a month to see if the batteries hold their charge. I wouldnt know if there is a standard difference or just a normal amount on lithium ion batteries. (once saw on a package of normale rechargable AA that stated there should be 75% left after a year of sitting on a shelf, discharging through time alone)

Depends if you want the extra 400Wh of capacity. The 2000 also has better battery cycle life (800 cycles vs. 500) and a slightly better inverter (2,400W vs. 2,000W).

Will this work to run power to a DJ controller for playing out side ? I have a Pioneer XDJ-XZ controller.
Yes. As it has a mains in, you’d need to use the mains inverter but it only consumes 41W so you could probably run the Pioneer for at least 24 hours (factoring in losses and inefficiency). If you’d want to run speakers too, you could but that would reduce your run time.

Yes. The Delta Max has 4 mains outputs so you just plug it in and turn it on. You could run your whole setup for 8 hours+ from this (plug both your speakers into the mains too) but if you only want to power the Pioneer, a Delta Mini would do great and is much more portable.

Was wondering if I could use it for a window unit air conditioner?
The inverter would handle the power (even a 12,000 BTU air conditioner wouldn't need more than 1.4-1.5kW) but it wouldn't last very long. Maybe 2 hours max.
How’s the battery holding up as it not lifepo4 lithium ?
So far, it’s perfect. I use it everyday but it probably only gets through a cycle less than once a week.

Just got mine today, my fans are quiet while fast charging, yours sounds like the fans are binding.
I completely agree about the fan noise, I emailed Ecoflow asking them if it was possible to control the fan or restrict the performance similar to what you asked them , they said it could not be done, I even moved the device from my office to another part of the house to get way from the noise, in the end I sent it back as its just to loud for my environment, I’ve bought a delta mini which is silent and I am waiting for the delta 2, hopefully it doesn’t have the same fan noise issue.
That is a real shame. It's fantastic to hear that the Delta Mini is quiet but it's also much less capable than the Max. I do hope this is improved in the new higher power models.

Yes. It seems as though nothing has changed on the Delta 2. It's just as noisy from what I've seen on other vids (I do not have one to test).
I've received by Delta 2 and it is much quieter, the trick is to charge it at anything below 900w, anything above that will put the fans on but nothing like the noise the Delta Max makes.

Good Job! I been seen a lot reviews about those products where people are going way beyond their Wattage capacity to "prove their running power ability". In other words. This people are abusing those products specification just get viewers hits and likes on You Tube!
Great review, I have been looking at these for a couple days and this is the first time that it being loud has really sunk in. The delta 2 is interesting, but I wanted to 2000w of the delta max. I was hoping to catch this sale, but now I don't know what I want to do....
Mains inverters always need cooling but there are good and bad ways of cooling and shifting air around. These seem to be louder than the competition. Good product though.

Yes, I have done that for a few devices. Most smart plugs won't fit directly into the device if you try to use more than one but that's no problem. I actually lean more towards avoiding the mains inverter completely due to noise and use USB, PD and DC12V for everything I can.
Oh i see; you have a delta max; that's not the same as the delta 2 max - is that right? ecoflow Delta 2 with extra battery included the fans on the delta 2 max are quieter?
extra battery is super high. walmart in the us is selling the delta 2 max unit itself for $1,399.00 and the extra battery is about the same in some stores - over $1000 usd.
for that price i could just link 2 units? I'm new to all this. hope you don't mind the questions

Time estimates is off by about 30min for me, depending on load. On low power load its wothin 10min, on my big computer while gaming, its off by 30min
Do you mean time remaining? If so, I’ve never seen a battery of this type do that accurately with the exception of the Anker Solix batteries.
@@tdcattech yea on the time remaining. I'm from South Africa so we use it for something called loadshedding, where the government has scheduled blackouts every day. Around 2 to 4 hours at a time and around 2 to 4 times a day. So this thing is keeping all my work equipment and WiFi up during these blackouts. I also had my fridge plugged into it before I moved.
The battery accuracy with all my computer's off and just the WiFi and fridge on, is within 10 to 15min time remaining before it goes out. And with my computer's on its about 30min to 45min off.
It's also only loud when its charging right after loadshedding and if the day didn't have any, it's only loud for like 15min a day as it just keeps itself topped up. I also have it set to not charge more than 95% and not go lower than 10%

Just got the Delta 2 Max and BOY is it quiet. You barely notice it... and it's easily background noise. They've come along way.

I have the Delta pro and I like a lot of people store these things in the garage or basement by the electrical panel. Mine in the basement is no more annoying than white noise for me. There in my basement and with the fans running I could watch TV without really having to turn the volume up at all. Your recording of the noise is misleading because you probably had the mic right next to the unit. Compare this to a generator and most other units that put out this kind of power and I doubt you find anything much quieter.

Now I'm stropping about loud fan noise on the ecoflow. The Anker is pretty quiet even if 1000watt charging it. I want to carry on with about 180 watt solar which might keep the fans to a minimum without 1200 watt mains making it cry?? I get you can adjust the app to charge at lower wattages. I agree that in winter my 180 watt solar will significantly drop. All I want to do is minimally power my working from home, broadband router, a bit of led lighting and a couple of monitors with a surface pro hooked up for an 8.5 hour day. Is this too much to ask 🤷🤣
Isn't it possible to use Bluetooth to use the app?
It's possible to use it by connecting directly to the EcoFlow (so the EcoFlow becomes the Wi-Fi access point) but this still requires an app. It requires it to support current operating systems and exist on the app store.
Thank you for this information, I have been looking at these all in one power supply options, but I have come to the conclusion that for me (in a mobile application) that a setup with separate components is a far better option, solar panels that are connected all the time/ mppt solar charger/ 240v battery charger / 2000Ah lithium battery / a generator when needed / inverter.
I run on solar all day and batteries at night, with this setup I can charge out each component as required, I don’t need any firmware updates ever, also my smartphone and iPad I carry in a faraday pouch (eBay), so big brother tracking is avoided.
But the worst thing about all of there’s all in ones power stations is the OUTRAGEOUS COST and don’t even talk about trying to get any sort of warranty or repairs.
P.S. with this setup it is costing about £300 a year for petrol, stuff being connected to mains power 🤪.
So the fans comes on, big deal...
It's still much quieter than operating a generator. It doesn't sound like an aircraft taking off, nor landing...
I have mine placed in my downstairs guest room and it sounds no louder than the bathroom vent so no complaints here about the db created by it. I'm glad I have a backup power system which I can use (if needed) for outages at night.
💯 The noise side of it is totally dependent on your use. If I'm powering devices during a blackout, I'm not going to care about a bit of noise.
Hang on a minute, the device draws power when solar is plugged-in but not charging?! I was hoping to have it plugged into solar indefinitely at my off-grid cabin. Will need to re-think this purchase...
This is more of a problem when the batteries are already low. So if the solar input is e.g. 15W, the system will never shut down and might be using 20W just being on. This obviously leaves you with net -5W which isn't ideal, particularly if your batteries are already low. Official response from support is below.
"After checking with the engineering team, the clicking sound is from the Internal buzzer. It is normal from what we know. However, we still recommend not using solar charging at night and on cloudy or rainy days, because when the unit is in a low battery and the current input power of the solar panel is very low, the unit will always be determined under charging status and does not shut down. Meanwhile, the consumption of the standby power is higher than the input power, causing the battery voltage to leak and affect the battery life. Currently, we don't have a solution for this unplugging problem, but I will send your case and feedback to the R&D team again."

As a veteran of the 1st gen PS4 days, my Delta 2’s noise output is not that bad! But, then again, i only use it for car camping and emergency power outages!
Would you put the battery in the car then to keep the noise down? I must admit that I've never used this in a camping scenario but it gets pretty quiet at night and this thing whirring up in a neighbours tent would be irritating, surely? 🤷🏻♂️
@@tdcattech - Yes. I typically run it during the day to run/charge all my electrical needs. However, at night it is place in my SUV to power my ICECO fridge only! But, who knows, maybe that white noise ambience produced by those fans would lull me to sleep faster…
Good review but it is old now, they have improved the noise issues among other upgrades, watch Todd Parker review for those that are interested in this unit.
It’s much improved on the Delta 2 Max but this model remains the same.
Have you done the "10 second press" at anytime? I have found that the Ecoflow really doesn't know what charge it has!
I haven't heard much about that but will investigate. The percentage on my Delta Max is a complete joke. I've calibrated it multiple times and that does seem to work. However, when I've used it for a few days (recharging partially from solar) it just drops back to total nonsense. I have run my gear for over 24 hours on 1%!!!! It has no idea where it is. I don't expect perfection in this regard, but some idea of power remaining would be nice.
@@tdcattech it’s good that it runs at 1% (even though the display is misleading). My Delta Mini seems to be shutting down according to this ridiculous time remaining. With 882 capacity it turns off in about 3 hours with 60-100 watts output.

£1100 for 2KWh - they are absolutely having a laugh.
I have 4x100+Ah lead acid batteries in my shed connected to a 2KW inverter with lorry jumper cables. The whole thing cost about £600 and gives me 4KWh of stored capacity. So that's around £125/KWh. A quarter of the cost of this.
However, I AM impressed by the 13A up to 100V DC solar input. That's very nice.
Oh yes. Cost / kWh is ridiculous on these devices compared to the type of setup you're talking about. They are very, very easy and convenient though which could never be matched in some situations.
