  • The EcoFlow Delta 2 Max has become my number one recommendation for a portable power station / solar generator. The Delta 2 max has expandable LiFePO4 up to over 6000wh, directly DCDC powers EcoFlow appliances, UPS, best in the business app, solid build quality and 5 year warrantee.

    I'm glad I watched to the end! I was really worried that I might have missed a great price on a good PPS, but when you said it didn't have a 12v/30a output to hook up to my camper, I breathed a sigh of relief! Certainly looks like a nice unit for home use, battery backup, and the ease of expandability is really nice.
    Thanks for doing such a complete and honest review Brian!

    Hey Brian - welcome back! I have to agree with Sam that the lack of a 25-30amp DC plug is a bummer. It makes you scratch your head that they can engineer these things to the Nth degree but fail to include such a simple component. For me, it's going to take a lot more to upgrade from my current power stations, despite the fact that I think this is a very capable unit. I struggle very hard to resist the "more/bigger/better" syndrome. I remember when PPSs first came out, capacity was the driving factor, and I upgraded so as to upgrade capacity. I have enough capacity now, so that's no longer the issue. I love a good power station, and this is a good one. But as with automobiles and teardrop campers, I think the industry is beginning to market with "more/bigger/better" to get consumers to keep purchasing these items. I will never forget the story about Tide marketing a "new and improved" product. When they were asked what was "new and improved" about Tide, the reply was, "The box."

    • @DIYOutdoorLife
      @DIYOutdoorLife  Рік тому +1

      Tide story is funny ..lol With the evolution of these systems, there'll be something better next month. The regulated plug is really really handy, Sam and I talk about that a lot, guess I have to spring for the ecoflow DPro to get that. 😆

    I have a Greywolf 30 foot RV and use the Delta 1000 and I love it. I use it when it is quite time at the camp grounds or early mornings when I don't want to run the generator. it runs everything but the AC (including the Fireplace). I might look at the Delta 2 max someday but for now the 1000 works great. Your videos are great thank you!

    Neat looking PPS. Dual 11v MPPT controllers will be super handy. I wish it had a 12v HPP like 25-30 amps to power our campers 12v needs. You just mentioned that lack of plug in your cons. I know we have discussed why they don't add that feature. I am one of the people who won't buy a PPS without that option because of how we use a PPS.

    Thank you so very much for the channel and the content you provide. I have a little bed on wheels after tenting for the last 19 years. I also have a 12 volt fridge/freezer. I have 2 LA batteries which does not give me 2 full days. We usually camp 8 to 9 days 2x annually. The interior lights don't draw much. We don't use anything on the 120 volt side. We're off the ground but are still tenters at heart. Which PPS can we use to run our 12 volt fridge/freezer for 8 days. We like the goal zero. You made it look very simple to tie into the trailer. We like the EFDP because it appears to have a longer range but I don't know if it has a 12 volt connection like the goal zero. Not very knowledgeable but eager.

    Thanks for the video. So I'm thinking I'll use my goalzero 1000x for everything else on the Hiker and have a separate enclosed system for the ecoflow wave 2. Get the Wave 2, with the delta max 2, buy a couple of 200 w portable solar panels and I may be able to still camp this summer in California. Maybe even Joshua tree. I'll have to get a porta potty and teach the Mrs how to watch out for snakes. I'm pulling the 5 X 10 Hiker with a 2024 Wilderness Outback Subaru. We had our maiden voyage in PAso Robles and had to climb a dirt road that a Highlander failed to climb with their trailer. I climbed it without even having to use Xmode.

    • @DIYOutdoorLife
      @DIYOutdoorLife  2 місяці тому

      It's great to have a solid trailer and a tow vehicle that can pull it where you need to go! With your Subaru, you can even do that with great gas mileage!!!
      The wave 2 pairs really well with the max 2- you should be able to get some really good numbers that way. If you're getting good solar conditions, the sky is the limit. If you are parking in shady areas, you can always look at getting a small generator, just use it to fast charge the delta max 2 and run the AC whenever you want. I think you should have no problem with solar, but you have options.

      This is a great point, it comes down to price versus value.
      Pecron makes a great system, minus some of the features found on this platform. If you don't anticipate needing any of those features, it might be worth saving the money and going with a pecron or even an oupus.

    I am getting my D2M today -same day I found this video. I was disappointed to find out it can’t top up my battleborn 100ah battery on my camper but wondering if I can plug the camper into the D2M through the 3-prong outlet? This would only be necessary in emergencies to keep 12v refrigerator running. I’m extremely new to all this so trying to educate myself through videos like yours!

    I really wanted this power station, but I couldn't justify the money right now. Ended up buying a MarxonGS1500.
    The specs seem really impressive for the money, its just a hair over 50cents per watt hour right now.
    That app on that ecoflow seems really nice too and I didn't get anything like that.
    Really cool you can parralel two of them though and get a 3600 watt power station for $1500 while they're on sale.
    Only time is going to tell if Marxon is going to be a good brand, and the warranty is 3 years less than ecoflow......

    How would you connect this to a teardrop trailer as you show in your video about the Goal Zero Yeti using an Anderson Plug, DC to DC?

    • @DIYOutdoorLife
      @DIYOutdoorLife  5 місяців тому +1

      Unfortunately, the D2M doesn't have a high current DC output.
      It's such a great system, it's a bummer that it doesn't have that. There are several power stations on the market that do, if you like EcoFlow look at their DP models. Use the $1000 coupon for a great deal.

      If I had waited till the end of the video I wouldn't have asked the question....because you answered it. The DP model is way over what my needs are. I'm looking for something in the 1000 watt range that's small enough to work with my T@B 320. I ordered a Bluetti AC180 and realized it didn't have that capability either so cancelled that. I'm currently considering the Goal Zero Yeti Core 1000. What else is there in that range. Do you have links for them that will help you out? Thanks!

    • @DIYOutdoorLife
      @DIYOutdoorLife  5 місяців тому

      @@larryglass4541 haha... thats okay
      The core 1000 is a good choice, but some people people have been disappointed with the 15a output. All of the other large GZ yeti have 30 amp output, that can make the difference.
      We have a affiliate links and coupon codes to almost anything, let me know what you end up choosing and I'll send a link. Thank you for that.
      I'm going to send a link to the larger bluetti that has the 30 amp. It's smaller than the EcoFlow that I sent, but still a large power station. It's very rare to find the high output DC on a small power station, aside from Goal zero, but they can be expensive.
      This is on sale for a great deal, a little bit more expensive than the core, but twice the size with faster charging!

    Without a high power DC out, Im not sure how this has become your most recommended power station. Your other videos seem to suggest this is one of the most important features for you. I have this same unit, and wish I had known more about how important it is to have a 25-30 amp out DC option.

    • @DIYOutdoorLife

      You're absolutely right, it is one of the most important features for me that I try to teach people how to make use of it.
      Nine out of 10 folks that I talk to about it, don't feel comfortable cutting the wires to their camper and are not interested. This makes it an amazing PPS for everything else and why I recommend it to people who are interested in the high output DC.
