Another good video - thanks for sharing Uncle Mark :)
trying to come up with some content that is useful to others. I still have not got to the rockers panels, yet.
Thank you sir! This is very helpful 👍!
Great to hear, Patrick! More videos on this SUV to come.
Thanks pretty detailed. The engineer who designed it should have to check it.
I agree. This is pretty easy compared to some new ones. Some have to be checked with a special tool that is inserted from the very bottom of the pan. (Yes the bottom!) Like seeing the butt doctor!
Nice work Mark 🔧
Got my hands on a fair share of Ford Flex’s myself 😊
Well for me, now I own one; at least for a few months at least.
@@unclemarksdiyauto Those are always the best videos 🤔 when it’s your own vehicle 😁👍🔧
@@RussShawTV I have been trying to slow down as I record these and make whatever angles and retakes so it can be as good as I am capable of right now. Always trying to be better. Thanks for watching, Russ! Hope you find more great vinyl deals!
At 3:58 , what is the hose with the creative pill bottle cap on it?
I don't remember, since I recorded this video 6 months ago. Either coolant hose for rad, or air intake for turbo intercooler.
I was able to add trans seafoam and check level without unhooking anything in ky 2014
@@brandenjohnson2980 Nice! Is yours the twin turbo ECOBOOST?
What a filthy car!!!inside to I noticed!mine is immaculate in comparison :>)
Yep is was pretty dirty! I just bought it needing a bunch of major work. Just drove it home & started on the project. (I too would have had it super clean if I was selling it.) I may have even paid a bit more for it too!
Want a cookie?
I have no idea what car he’s working on my 2009 Ford Flex Limited is Visible no need to remove anything it’s just there out in the open.
2011 Flex with Twin turbos! Do you have the twin turbos?
It's unbelievable that it requires that much disassembly to simply check the tranny fluid. :-( I regret buying this Flex.
Ah, that is kind of sad to know. I have had this as a project for about a year. Other things keep getting in the way. Hoping to have it on the road in September or so. Have you had many issues?
The 3.5 is a very reliable engine. You shouldn't have to check transmission fluid more than once every 50k or so
You should see what it takes to replace the water pump.
It’s a GM transmission
in my 2011 Ford Flex?
Yes ford and GM had a partnership on transmission
@@sciatl2505 Good to know! Probably supplied by someone else to both of them anyway! Do you know which GM vehicles use this transaxle?
@@unclemarksdiyauto most FWD from around 2009 and up with a 6 speed auto they are 6Txx and ford calling them 6Fxx the xx is a number from 30-70 the higher the number the more torque it can take
The different from the Ford and GM is ford uses The PCM for controlling the transmission and GM has a TCM computer inside the transmission
@@sciatl2505 Thank you for the great information!
This is so dumb. Are these designers 3 yrs old??!!
I think all the manufacturers have gone to this and now the new vehicles don’t have a dip stick for the engine either! Dumb for sure!
@@unclemarksdiyauto None the less, I appreciate the vid
