Blown hamstring how about you
@@ryanbrubaker2854 exactly the same thing. Sprinting without warming up I guess.
Same here, I pulled my left hamstring two days ago while sprinting.
Tendonopathy. Had it for 2 1/2 years. 🙁
Ugh I'm dying 😂 being in simaltaneous pain with others on youtube is a new side of the interwebs
Bruh I feel like I end up on this channel every other day after football practice
Me After sprinting
no but seriously💯
Exactlyyy😂😂
Bro I swear 😂😂😂
Real shit !!
Don’t know what I’d do without this channel! Between a glut tendon tear and a hamstring tendon tear, you guys had me covered. Tendinopathy sucks, and can take months to heal since tendons have virtually no blood flow. Consistent, diligent PT is the ticket. Thank you for your channel, you guys make an impact.
And this kudos is coming from a Minnesoootan! I don’t hold it against you guys ;)
Thank you! You either haha
Thank you..was very frustrated about the pain and was crying
I injured my hamstring in training. I'm glad i found your video. Thanks for sharing. God bless you both
thank you guys have been having horrible hamstring pain since a baseball injury and this is the best relief i have found
OMG Thank you guys so much for this. I am a dancer and about a week ago after I taught an two hour class I found myself limping right after. This has helped greatly. Thank you.
Love the professionalism of these two
Thank you, Bob & Brad
Thanks guys so nice to listen to you
That’s really great advice Thankyou
Thanks for your help, guys!
That was very helpful. A lot of respect for you Doctors. I will try all of this out. Thank you.
Thanks guys, can't wait to get back running xx
my go to physios!!! honestly you guys are awesome!
Bob and Brad you are both beauties. I've been looking for a video like this for ages.
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks Bob and Brad
I do not wish to take it easy but I am sure for the best
No more leg day for a while
Ahh, .. thank you!! I was stretching right off the bat, and it did get worse. That massage got relief almost immediately. "liked" and "subscribed".
God bless you gentlemen!
Same so many people told me to stretch ...
Just heard and had a popping sensation on my hamstring playing soccer. It’s been day 1 and I’m in terrible pain. Going to follow these exercises and hoping for a speedy recovery!
How was it
Any update on your healing?
Thank you for your tips
Thanks for the info .
Great help, Bobby & Brizzy
Anytime I want to learn about muscle and recovery, I turn to your channel, simply because you’re both so informative and easy to understand, plus you both seem to have fun doing it. Good to go, 👍
thanks for the tips misters
Gentlemen, You are simply the best! Thank you!!! 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏
Thanks guys!
Thank you for the information! Today I pulled a 170kg deadlift for 8 reps, and after that, I went a little lighter to finish up, and strangely, that's when I tore my left hamstring (slight tear, no decreased mobility). You video is definitely useful for me =)
This is good, stretching only prolongs the injury at this stage; thank you!
Excellent step-by-step video. Thank you guys, you're doing excellent work. #HumanRace
Thank you so much😊❤
The way they coordinated saying “No” at the same time at the 0:43 mark was something they worked on in advance and it paid off. Nailed it.
You guys are the greatest ..
Just pulled my left hamstring with my last warm up single of 585 on deadlift. Emotionally felt beat, but after a few days of rest and now finding this video I’m excited to start my recovery! Thanks guys!
Do u still have problems with your hamstring
How long did it take you to recover?
@@abdoarahmangubran1679 have you recovered yet?
@@braves5696 yeah it took me about 2/3 months to fully recover, but that’s only because I kept making it worse by playing football, so I would say 3-5 weeks would’ve been enough to heal it if I was to abstain from physical activity such as football
@@abdoarahmangubran1679 thank you bro
Watching this on 2023 after my hamstring strain! THANK YOU!!!
Excellent!
You guys make a great team, very amusing and yet insightful.
great info
pov: you just heard something pop and now you looking up your symptoms while stressing out 🥲
I wish I would’ve just searched for a Bob and Brad solution to my hamstring pull(or it might be a small tear?). I’m old school and tried the “just walk it off” and “no pain, no gain” approaches and immediately started doing gentle stretches into where it was most painful, but it’s still weak and it still spasms when I’m walking and it contracts in a certain spot.
It’s only been about 2 days since I fell and pulled it, so hopefully I can correct my course with these tips. I’ve already tried the massage technique and that helps a lot. Thanks Bob and Brad 😊
How are you doing? which ones worked the best. I had a fall a year ago while racing to get a house on the market and sold, then the war started, and pushed myself. was almost on cane. have gone months thru videos to diagnose and do many exercises, and only now, seeing this, and saying, hey, sounds like i have hamstring from knee to buttbone/hip, popping and all, as i got to point where hip started to unlock. are you on Facebook?
thanks guys 😊
Great video
Nice job, fellas. Going’s to put it to use.
Pulled a hammy STRETCHING, lol- wow, it hurt. This is great info- THANK YOU!
thanks guys.
Thanks for the video. I was stretching it like crazy instead of doing the right thing. I'm just happy I found this video.
Thanks!
My 12 year old daughter is having a lot of knee and ankle pain. Some causes could be from over training, hard surfaces, growing, or lack of strength in hamstring and quads. Thanks for helping us!
Does she have flat feet ? Because I do and orthotics helped so much .
thank you!
Love the video
Amazing. I got pain relief within a few minutes of massaging my hamstring! I now feel ready to start rehabbing my hamstring!!! You guys are life savers!
I strained my hamstring and have rested for 6 days and started foam rolling today. It doesn't feel quite as tight but more sore, almost as if I have been working out. Is this normal?
watched this exact video 2 years ago when I first pulled my hammy. Here I am again for the other hamstring smh. Great video, simple yet extremely helpful
I have just did an oversplit without streching enough and I pulled my hamstring but I can't go to a therapist
That's awesome guys, just wondering if I do the same thing if the damage is where it inserts in the knee area, thanks again.
+physicaltherapyvideo thank you for your reply sorry I just saw your response I'll give it a go.
Pressing fingers into point of pain decreased pain. Will reapply throughout the day...Thank you
Thanks. I just pulled my hamstring and I'm glad I watched your video.
julie curepe me right now! 😒
Wish all medical professionals were this awesome. Thank you!
Believe me if I ever have the need. I will be searching for you two. I also live in Minnesota
Thanks once again for your lucid explanations… esp 1st phase treatment ie. NO STRETCHING….!!
You are very welcome, we are happy to be able to help
Hello, I have had a chronically tight with noticeable bulge on the lower part of my biceps femoris along with the tendon/tendon sheath for over a year now. It started getting worse the more I ran, I have seen two different chiropractors. One of the chiropractors did Graston, the other used the hydrovolt gun and TENS. The bulge is still there and now I can't run because the next day it feels so tight it feels like its going to tear. Prior to the chiropractors I have seen an orthopaedic doctor and got a steroid shot along with PT. Nothing helps it. I am not sure if this is a long long term problem or if there is something these specialist I have seen cannot figure out. I am considering going back into the second chiropractor and getting dry needling done. What are your thoughts Bob & Brad?
This is great as I just strained my hammy
You guys rock
Thank you!
i love you guys. feels like i'm in fargo
I play football and when I was running I was being tackled and my leg was under him and he was twisting me at the same time. I heard a big pop and could barely walk off the field and needed help to get on my feet and attempt to just walk. I needed assistance and now (2 days later) I am still in big pain. It was a tear more near my butt and doing these stretches really helps. One thing that I also rec come nd is applying a damp heat pad to the are with your leg propped up
Are you still active on this UA-cam account?
Me too
Sameeeeee bro it’s long this happened to me 3 days ago
@@El-zg9hp how are u now
@@justbrowsing10 hey bro surprisingly quick recovery, i played yesterday and i was fine, just a little slower than before and still a tiny bit stiff 95% fit tho
I hurt my handspring doing the left s split and I got a pain in my whole leg I let my leg rest for two weeks so know I'm going into phase two I hope this works I have to dance cause dance is life I'll be back to update guys
Tirriana Johnson I did a jump split for my drill team back in August of 2017 and only rested for a week since it didn’t hurt to dance. I went back to high kicks after that and it would hurt every time I stretched my leg out (or tried doing splits). Because I didn’t rest for at least 5 weeks, I would constantly have that sharp pain while dancing so I did Physical Therapy for 3 months and it helped a bit but my flexibility wasn’t as good as it was before and as of now i still get a sharp pain in my lower buttock and hamstring especially when I’ve been sitting for a long time. As much as you want to keep dancing, PLEASE go to the doctor and rest for the amount of weeks that they tell you to. Trust me, it’s better to stay out of dancing for a couple of weeks rather than making the injury worse by not resting your leg.Good luck!
Hamstring
@@gogoogaga8136i have the same thing, how long it took for full recovery?
Hey guys. My knee has bothered me creaking and in the morning I hurt when I step on that leg in hamstring. I think not torn hamstring but hurts so I am going to try your exercised carefully for a while to see if it helps. Thanks
How I do I know if it’s strained and not just sore or really tight?
Great video! I was sitting in my chair one day and did a full extension stretch when I heard this pop behind the knee. I'm thinking it was part of the tendon or lower part of the hamstring. Now two weeks later I'm looking to rehab it. I feel some knots behind the knee, I wonder if that could be scar tissue that has already formed. thanks
You guys are perfect together at what you do :) :)
Thanks guys. Every injury I get, I youtube search and there y'all are.
I had an MRI of my left knee done after having serious discomfort and not being able to flex my knee at all. Most painful activities included walking up and down stairs. trying to flex the knee, and significant stiffness if being on my feet too long. MRI results came back and there were no tears and an MD reported my knee as an "A". After reporting my symtoms and how they've slowly subsided, he concluded it was likely a strain of the hamstring muscle do to both my hamstring and calve hurting.
Fastforward 8 weeks after the initial symptoms and I still have each of the symptoms but it takes more for it to flare up, but when it does, each of the above pains are virtually at the same level of discomfort. I also have yet to have full ROM (even without pain symptoms). Any suggestions on where to go from here.
Weeks 0 - 4: Rest, Ice, only body weight bearing (work related) activities.
Weeks 5 - 6: Self massage, foam foller/lacrosse ball and continued above
Past 2 weeks or so: Very light knee extension machine, hamstring curl machine and banded hip abductions.
Great tips.. cure and endure..:
Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for this video, I am going to try some of these and see if it helps. Love the laid pack energy.l However, can you give me the link to your cross sectional massage as I could not find it.
What about tendon problems from taking antibiotics? Do you do anything or take any supplements to help?
Hi, I have detached my semitendinosus up to 8cm with some bone a year ago. Had a MRI to confirm about 3 weeks ago. I think it's too late for surgery? I can now run for half hour and box and Thai box with no pain. Going to the orthopedic dept in a few weeks. Would it be worth trying for surgery? What would long term problems be with a permanent semitendinosus detachment?
Great video. Can the physio ball/bridge be done every day?
+physicaltherapyvideo Thank-you!
Blew out my hammy on a routine fly ball. Damn, I'm out of shape. So sad. Thanks for sharing.
Hello gentlemen! So, would I be able to do cross friction message and do that one strength training exercise everyday for a month. (I have been dealing with a chronic proximal hamstring pull for over six years now) And if I follow the progressions correctly it should be good to go for the maintenance phase? Any feed back from you gentlemen would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!
I don't have Foamroller, but i have two tennis balls and i'll try with them. Except this,is the press-pull release movement appropriate for my goal or not ( combining them both ) ? How long you reccomend doing the massaging before full range,or whenever i feel ready. Your professional opinion means a lot . Thanks
After injuring the pain had fully dissipated after only two days of rest. No bruising or swelling so i thought i'd give the cross-friction massage a try but since trying it once i have had continuous aching in the hamstring for 5 days now. So to Bob and Brad, maybe you can give some indication of timeframe for these steps with all your experience as physicians? And for others who are becoming painfree, maybe give it some more time before the massaging. I probably have irritated the injury again and prolonged the healing process.
I have a level two torn hamstring and it really hurts!! I am not allowed to do any more sport (which I LOVE sport) for another 5 weeks!! I am really angry with myself that I did it as it is in the middle of dance season and i have to learn HEAPS of cheorgraphy! Make sure that you properly rest it and don’t stress sit out to much as i have torn it even more with sucks😔
thank you docs !!
I don’t have the excediste ball, so is there another good strengthening exercises like bridges for example?
This helped quite a bit. Thank you. I also used a electric vibrator up and down the back of my thigh with my knee up to massage the hamstring and that also was very helpful.
How many weeks into pt should I try using the ball if it hurts at first?
Thank you so much for sharing these techniques. I've never had a hamstring injury like the one I have now, so I'll start practicing these.
I over did it on the treadmill. Very informative thanks fellas.
I strained my hammy during a sprint after rugby practice. Spent about a week icing and then went back to practice but it still hurts when I run. Should I return to Phase 1 or try to push through to Phase 2?
Just had my hamstring muscle repaired. I tore it right off the bone. Not ready for yet. Looking at what I'm in store for.
I get the cross friction massage. What is your opinion on longitudinal stroke Massage as well?
Hi. I am a ballet dancer and haven’t danced nearly as much this summer as i do in the school year. a couple days ago, i went into my splits cold, without stretching. usually in the school year i would be able to do this no problem. my hamstring is very sore and tense and it seems like it lost all its flexibility for the time being. did i tear or strain my hamstring? how long till it gets better?
I’m elderly,, felt a popping sensation in upper butt area just walking. I applied cold immediately after. Should I keep moving or stay sedentary?
So you do the opposite with the foam roller? I mean, fase two is across the fibers massage and foam along the fibers?
Dealing with multiple hamstring injuries, this is really the best information on the internet
Thanks!! This seemed like the most legit information. You get so many people tossing in their two cents when you get injured that it becomes difficult to know who you should listen to.
What do you think about walking with high hamstring tendonopathy?
nice!
Thank you for saying, “gentle”. I tell my ballet students that every stretch should be gentle.
