Happy Easter, Robert! I've not commented for a while. I just wanted to say that I'm always impressed with the high quality video work, and the informative and entertaining nature of your videos. Your energy and enthusiasm seems endless, and long may it continue!
New Orleans is always worth a visit. There is always something going on. That road leaving the city really did look rough. Really looking forward to Big Bend. Always love the Sunday video. 😍
Next time you need to check out the garden district area. Magazine street has less tons of shops, bars touristy restaurants and Tchoupitoulas street area has 7+ local breweries with much better IPAs! Mid-city around city park with the bayou is also great!
I always love seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of New Orleans, it's a fun place to visit I also enjoyed the drive through Texas, you're a great content creator keep up the awesome travel videos!
On the corner of Royal St. and St. Peter St… on any given day you’ll find Ms. Doreen Ketchens , the greatest clarinetist 🪈 you’ll ever hear, with husband on the sousaphone.
Thanks for the great tour of New Orleans, definitely on the radar and my bucket list! Also enjoyed your journeys across the other long swamp causeways. Enjoyed seeing Texas as well also very high on the travel bucket list! Looking forward to the rest of the journey!
Robert, me and mom are very happy to see you and Ily in person at Blanding, UT on our road trip. Be safe on the road and have a wonderful trip, can’t wait for your next series at the west ! 👍
In high school I attended NOCCA - New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, in the French Quarter. Taking a stroll to Cafe Du Monde or Jackson Square was an everyday event. What a time that was! Next time I highly recommend dining at Commander’s Palace, a restaurant experience you won’t forget. They have an outstanding jazz brunch, which is a thing here! 🎺
Oh man, you were in our neck of the bayou! You drove right by our winter season spot on I-12 in Livingston Parish Rjourney's Lakeside RV Resort. We're glad y'all had fun in NOLA, and we hope to meet y'all one day
looks like a wonderful adventure so far. Looking forward to visit New Orleans one day soon. Quite a change in traffic density from Houston to Big Bend as well...lol. Will be up early next Sunday to see the next step of the journey. Continued safe travels....
I was shocked to see a Buc-ee's that empty. lol. I am more accustomed to the mad house of Buc-ee's in Florida. I have to remember to put on my Buc-ee's shirt in one of my videos. New Orleans looked fun. Still nervous about dry camping.
Maaaannn ROB...I make deliveries in the New Orleans are doing the week....you inspire my traveling, wish I could of met you Im born and raised in New Orleans
Love the French Quarter! We love Musical Legends Park too. Jonathan says the beignets there, from Cafe Beignet, are better than those from Cafe du Monde. Next time!
I was just there. Spend the weekend there right before catching a cruise ship to Mexico. We had a good time.,(didn’t get a chance at seeing the Garden District, either…but it’s alot like Savannah, from what I heard, where I lived a few years.)
I am watching the second part of the video. I am glad the RV park incident didn't involve robbery. I am at the part with the soap spilling at the shower's floor. It confirmed my previous comment on the car suspension. I am sorry it happened to you, hopefully that soap dispenser wasn't too expensive to replace.
Been to NOLA once and thought to never go back but after seeing your video visiting again may be a possibility. Hope your next trip thru Houston you enjoy some if the sights lots of things to do there and in Galveston. Safe travels on the road
It looks like this may be your 1st trip to Big Bend NP. For some reason, I thought you had visited before. We went there in 2022 and loved it. Safe travels!
Upon retirement in 2018 we bought a new motor home and i took my retirement trip to Memphis (T.O. Fuller State Park) so i could visit Beale St. especially BB Kings place cause i am a blues music lover and hit the blues festivals whenever possible....From there we headed straight south to NOLA...Am no big city fan at all but i have to admit, i loved the NOLA experience...Tried something there i had never had before and it was pretty good....Turtle Soup !!! Am also a big fan of he Central Grocery Market and their world famous Muffulletta sandwiches (place gets packed)....Needless to say, for the week we were there, i ate just about everything unique NOLA has to offer especially crawdads....Must of had them every way possible...We also visited the Gazebo cafe where they were playing the live music in this video ....Hope to make it back there someday...Thanks for sharing your visit...travel safe, be well...
Great video Robert...a quick comment on the food: 19 years ago we were in NO for NYE and the day after we ate at the Oceana. The food was most excellent!!!
You and Illy might enjoy taking cooking lessons at New Orleans Cooking School in downtown. The chief gave all of us a history lesson on how the different tastes in their food came about. There have been a number of different countries represented in that town and state.
Hey traveling Robert I love your commentary making driving better I want to be like you riding my fav in sunset keep up great work man It is nice and btw you should visit India it is nice palce and travel other places
I’m on the doorstep of 60 and still hopeful I’ll be able to jam drums with musicians some time. It hasn’t happened for a few decades perhaps, even after I retired on March 2016. The first few years of snowbirding away from the northeast, I carried a small kit in my class C, but I never pursued it, then I brought an even smaller cajon type setup. Still hoping!
Great video! Thank you for the recommendation about the NOLA RV ground. I'm not sure about you going into Cafe du Monde though. Yep, I'm a tourist and that is my breakfast staple when there (but mostly the mall location). Can't wait to be back in November. I booked a cruise leaving out of there. So... Louisiana or Alaska roads? Unless I'm mistaken, more damage in Louisiana. Man, the go pro on the camper really showed the up and down. I can't wait to see more of Big Bend and your adventures!
They call it the Cathedral but if you get an excellent tour through they'll explain that technically its a Basilica. Making laps with Jackson Square; that's about it.
Great stuff. While I have not seen all the videos, I am curious why I have not seen you use COE’s. Maybe not all the best scenery though quite good, but great price and clean up to date settings. Just a thought. Heading down to Bayou Segnette this week, southwest of NO.
I have been to NOLA a few times. There is a lot more things to do there. Have you ever been on the old plantation home tour. Great for history students.
Man you passed so close to arguably the best state park in texas (Garner). One of these days when you go through texas you need to take some time and explore the hill country area of texas, west of San Antonio and Austin. There are so many state parks and cool towns to see. The twisted sisters loop is one of the most scenic drives in texas and the hills get so large they pretty much look like mountains in some places. Garner, lost maples, enchanted rock, pedernales falls, etc are all amazing parks to see. Towns like Fredericksburg and Luckenbach are great to explore. Safe travels out there Robert!
Great vid. I guess it's true that nobody goes to a bar at a chain restaurant in New Orleans. The last time I was in Cafe du Monde was probably in the '90s when we were successful in getting a seat. I remember when we visited in 2010, there were so many people there, it was hopeless.
Howdy Robert. Only 6 hours in The Big Easy? Oh well, you made the most of your time there. I much prefer walking the French Quarter early in the morning before it gets hot and HUMID and before the crowds start showing up. For me no visit to N'awlins is complete without a visit to the Cafe du Monde for a coffee and a beignet on the patio (and a muffaletta from Cochon Butcher...yum!) RE: that "bad stretch" of road--I've driven that section in a severe thunderstorm, and that is no fun at all! Seeing you in the shotgun seat--I think that's the first time I've seen that in your videos. Looking forward to seeing your Big Bend adventure...until then, happy trails!
The city use to be absolutely a really beautiful, fun place to visit. Be mindful of your surroundings, like everywhere else. If you haven't and you like seafood, try the blue crab resturant by the lakefront.
"There's some rough around the edges things that we won't talk about". Robert, you should have been a diplomat. I was born in New Orleans, grew up there and still live in the area. Here are a couple of suggestions for your next visit. You stuck your head in the Napolean House. Have a muffaletta and drink there. It's the closest you will come to being in Europe while still being in the U.S. Visit the Historic New Orleans Collection on Royal St. When you were standing on top of the levee at Jackson Square and showed the river, that is my favorite lunch spot. Getting half a muffaletta from Central Grocery and eating it while sitting on the river bature, watching the ships go by, especially on a windy day. Take a day trip on the riverboat Natchez. Ride the streetcar from Canal St. to the end at Claiborne Ave. and back. P.S. We've made the drive between New Orleans and Big Bend many times. It's one of my favorite places to take my telescope toys. The night sky is very dark.
I see you went to Big Bend. I sure hoped you stopped at Marathon and saw "Eve's Garden" B &B. An entire hotel made from "papercrete". The Davis Mountains are also great, with The Ft. Davis historical site.
I was in New Orleans a week before you and tried to eat at Oceana the night I was there. The line was literally going to the end of the block away from bourbon street. So I ended up somewhere else.
Hi Robert. Love your show and travels have seen every episode. However next time you are in new Orleans and feel compelled to eat at cafe dumont… go to the see the bathrooms which you must access thru the kitchen. In all my travels I have never seen a more nasty public restroom. Don’t eat there
Thank you for this fun video. I enjoy your channel so much! Love your narration and professional video skills. Safe travels!
Happy Easter, Robert!
I've not commented for a while. I just wanted to say that I'm always impressed with the high quality video work, and the informative and entertaining nature of your videos.
Your energy and enthusiasm seems endless, and long may it continue!
My family agrees. First thing on Sunday we look for Traveling Robert.
I love how the Dixieland combo at roughly 8 minutes is playing right in front of the "Church Quiet Zone" sign.
Yes, what’s up with that disrespect?

Happy Easter 🐣 🙏✝️

Driving to the WEST! Into the sunset!
New Orleans is always worth a visit. There is always something going on. That road leaving the city really did look rough. Really looking forward to Big Bend. Always love the Sunday video. 😍
Fabulous video. Classic Travelling Robert. Loved it from beginning to end. Thank you!

Mr. Robert.
Happy Easter...
Catching up on several videos & have been impressed each time. Thanks sir robert!
I'm in New Orleans now and your video helps illuminate the place quite well. Yes it gets real real noisy at night on Bourbon Street!!!
Like the New Orleans music 🎶 ...🎉
LOL I was thinking the same thing I could stand there forever and listen to those guys😅
Love it when you have had a couple too many to drink. Great video.
Wonderful tour. Thank you ❤
Robert, me and mom are very happy to see you and Ily in person at Blanding, UT on our road trip. Be safe on the road and have a wonderful trip, can’t wait for your next series at the west ! 👍
When I worked for military sealift command my ship pulled in to a Navy pier in New Orleans! The music was 😎 wow!
Thanks!🇺🇸👍
HAPPY EASTER
Great to see New Orleans, managed to visit a few times nearly 20 years ago, brought back great memories 🇬🇧🇬🇧👏🏻👍🏻
In high school I attended NOCCA - New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, in the French Quarter. Taking a stroll to Cafe Du Monde or Jackson Square was an everyday event. What a time that was!

I'm with you, Robert. I love the music. ❤
Tujagues! Best drinks and food!
Robert, you missed your chance to say "Houston, we have a problem" at the traffic jam. haha
Gracias Robert por compartirnos tu viaje , siento que estoy ahí
Hey you passed us in Uvalde again without saying hello🙂. Great video Robert and Illy have a good day.
Oh man, you were in our neck of the bayou! You drove right by our winter season spot on I-12 in Livingston Parish Rjourney's Lakeside RV Resort. We're glad y'all had fun in NOLA, and we hope to meet y'all one day
Nice one Robert! I really enjoyed New Orleans, but also the transition from swamp to dry land! I can smell the mountains since this episode!
AMO las aventuras en el Oeste........GREAT trip......""See you on the road on April 2024""....
Last time I was in New Orleans we stayed only a block from Jackson Square. Loved the location close to all the activities
🎶🎶 Driving to the West! ❤❤
Thanks for the tour. Great memories.
Nice video. Beautiful cathedral and tour of the area.
Thank you for sharing
Can’t wait to see big bend
Boy! You two looks like you had a good time and the marching band was great too!👻
Best food in the United States!!
Enjoyed the visit in NOLA.
Thanks for the video! I Love New Orleans! I'm going to stay at that French Quarter RV Park one of these days. Its been on my radar for awhile now.
Rough around the edges? Now you got me triggered! 'Big city- things'?
Nice video Robert, very high quality!
Traveling Robert now in 60 FPS!
looks like a wonderful adventure so far. Looking forward to visit New Orleans one day soon. Quite a change in traffic density from Houston to Big Bend as well...lol. Will be up early next Sunday to see the next step of the journey. Continued safe travels....
Happy Easter! Greetings from Canada
64 years ago may the 2nd I was born right there in New Orleans 2 years later moved to Mobile Alabama been there ever since 😂❤
Happy Easter!!🎉🎉🌄🎸
Should have gone on the Riverboat ride. I hear it's very nice. Your music was nice at the end with the twilight scenes of the French Quarter. ❤
We did the boat ride 10 years ago. It was great.
@@TravelingRobert I'm looking forward to that. I'll go on a Sunday like you showed more peaceful. 😊

I first visited in New Orleans back in December 2021.
Happy Easter to your family mr Robert
Cool fact 27:02 glad to know I am not the only one that knows it. Fun fact indeed!
Love the French Quarter! We love Musical Legends Park too. Jonathan says the beignets there, from Cafe Beignet, are better than those from Cafe du Monde. Next time!

I've been there many times. Doesn't seem like it changes much! Great video! Nawlins is how the locals pronounce it.
Nothing a little crazy glue can't fix
Lots of security around that rv park! And for good reason I have been to Nola on Business yet had time to do the french quarter to.
Been to NOLA once and thought to never go back but after seeing your video visiting again may be a possibility.

Did you go to preservation hall?
I have driven up to downtown New Orleans, the roads remind me of San Juan, both are not good for the car suspension. 😂
Always something going on in NO!
