- This is a reaction/review video of The Kinks performing "Celluloid Heroes" from the "Everybody's In Show Biz" album released in 1972. Ray Davies gives a salute to Hollywood and the stars that gave us all so much enjoyment. He describes these actors and actresses with words that leaves an image of each of them as we ourselves would see them. A phenomenal song by a rock 'n' roll legend; Ray Davies.

one of the most beautiful Songs ever written. God save Ray Davies and The Kinks!
The Kinks rock!! So glad you are a fellow aficionado! 😎👍
It's Rayfreshing to hear a song with lyrics that aren't about the usual topics of love and love lost. Ray Davies had to have spent a great deal of time researching his chosen actors. It certainly sounds like a labor of love. My wife and I are big Turner Classic Movies fans so we recognize a lot of the names he sings about. Today's young music listeners would hear them and go "Huh?"
Ray is a consummate storyteller!!
😎👍💕
Ey up Todd - great reaction/review. The Kinks were fab and so much of the time, big part of my growing up. Thanks for doing and keep on truckin' mate.
Hi Speed ... Thank you for the compliment. Very much appreciated! The Kinks often changed their sound, but not their sense of humor. Ray is one of the greatest lyricists of all time! Keep rockin' my friend ...
Typical Kinks,pure genius!
Finally someone who enjoys this song as much as I do.
In my opinion he’s the greatest lyricist in music history. Have you heard the demo recordings he did for the 80 days musical?
