Always wondered what kind of job it was to do this, now if I run across a clean long bed I won’t dismiss taking a look at it after watching this video. Thanks!
I got a #wrongbed and I love it!!!!!! Every time i got to Lowe’s, Home Depot, load the kayaks, or all 3 dogs - the functionality is unmatched!!!! Also, your truck is amazing man. Hell of a build and hell of a channel. You should be proud of yourself.
Yeah I've never understood why people don't like longbeds. I love my "88 Chevy obs longbed.... especially w' it's 35 year old natures paint job "patina" lowered on 20" Boyd steelies.
Awesome video! Don’t think I’m brave enough to try this on my own, especially since I’ll be shortening the bed itself in order to utilize the entire existing body.
Was removing the hangers a must.? It seems like it could have been done without that step. Just measured from another point. I've got the kit coming. I was just curious
Did you supply your own hardware to reattach the front spring perch? I only have enough hardware for one side or enough to hang everything they supplied in the kit. I don’t have enough hardware to hang the perches back on the frame. I can see in the video you have yours bolted on but you didn’t cover that part so I’m assuming you ran into the same issue. Thanks
I honestly can’t remember. I do keep a lot of hardware on hand. I bet you could call these guys and they’d send some out. Ask Clint and tell him I sent you.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV I did! Clint with their sales team got me squared away no questions asked. I told him what hardware I had received and what I believed to have been missing from the order. He said they created an internal work order and would have the missing hardware shipped out ASAP as well as follow up after delivery. Old school, A+ customer service. I appreciate the recommendation from you.
Great job 👍🏻
I really wish there was a kit for Fords like this! Great video!
Awesome job, now I’ll get a shortbox

Glad to help!!
Friend Doug... good stuff

Thanks brother. Using the gifts God gave.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV amen.

Nice tutorial with some interesting tips
Save $400 and just measure/chalk it out yourself. It’s really not tough to draw two lines and cut.

Looks good dude
Im here to read the comments they sat about how unsafe it is... looks stronger to me
Notice the old oklahoma tag lol, im also in oklahoma and about to shorten my frame on my c10 as well. Should be cake
Dope. What are The torque specs for the two small plate you screwed there??
Did you have any issues installing the fuel tank because the kit blocks 2 of the mounting holes for the tank mount
Just used 2 bolts on the front strap.
Works perfectly. Such an awesome kit thanks for the response bud
Hi, you make it look so easy. Great tutorial. What blade are you using to make the chassis cuts? Thanks
Thanks! Just a 4 1/2” cutoff wheel. DeWalt brand I believe.
Did you have to drill new holes for the gas tank brackets?
Nope!

I wondered the same thing. Best way to locate the cuts accurately for sure. Only adds 10-15 minutes to the job TBH.
Why would you waste so much money when you could measure this yourself?
Excellent very detailed and informative! Would you have to shorten the driveshaft
Absolutely
Great video. Was there anything special you had to do with the fuel tank or filler hose?
Use short bed hoses. 2 rear mount bolts need holes drilled or left out.
Thanks for the info. Just picked up my c10 long bed, going to do the same thing.

@@GreaseMonkeyTV thanks man!
@Fahrenheit_Motorsports you get a response?

Nice
Any problem passing inspection
We don’t have inspections.
Can I do this same method on 72 c10
Yes. There's a different kit available for that generation from PB Fab.
I wonder if this would work on a 4x4
Not sure why it wouldn’t.
What about the driveshaft?
Take your measurements and driveshaft to a driveshaft shop. Covered in every full build on this channel.
Where to buy kit thanks
Really? It couldn't be in the caption of the video? Or stamped in the kit that he installed? I wonder. Lol
Anybody seen a cut down shortbed hold up with out welding?..Wouldnt just a bracket and bolts be fine for a truck thats never towing or hauling much?
