Just pulled the trigger and bought some last week. So far, love them. The difference between the 1st and 2nd get pros is absolutely notable in overall sound quality, noise cancellation, and convenience with the new case features. Certainly recommend!

I love how most of the comments here probably don't know Mac Address is an LMG channel, I'd love to see this style of production for more segments but it can be really expensive and exhausting to produce like this all the time. I hope the channel is doing well internally so we can see some expansion, which is happening as they are hiring a second writer for Mac Address
@Uche definitely more than that. It's minimum 15 a week across all channels, but with the company quickly approaching 100 employees, with 15 positions currently hiring, they're on the way up very quickly. Huge growth in the last year or so
Man for all flaws Linus has, his hiring quality is pretty fucking great. Jonathan is a REMARKABLE writer. I must assume he has a huge play in the directing too. He loves apple, but also hates them. He has these huge expectations of a company that has no right not to deliver. I am impressed with this max channel and the fact it’s almost at 500k I think speaks to the quality of Jonathan. This is a channel that, besides a little advertisement from lmg, flies solo. (Talking about algorithm, not about production costs) Jonathan is just that quality.

Bought the Gen1 Airpods Pro when they released and now switched to the Pro2. I fully appreciate the upgrade they put in there and the ease with how they work.
I am looking at upgrading for the ANC benefits. When I am working in the yard I use AirPods Pro and a set of ear muffs to drown out the sound of small engines. I hear that the ANC is much improved and possibly I could just use AirPods Pro to listen to music at a comfortable volume and drown out the noise. Also, the ability to filter sudden loud and sharp sounds makes me wonder if they could work at the shooting range. It would be nice to be able to hear the range officer a little easier and not wonder what Charlie Brown Special he voice acted in.
I got them from day one and I absolutely love them! Also at 8:36, it seems full support of AirPods Pro 2 requires macOS Ventura. If you’re still on Monterey, the system might not even recognize them as AirPods sometimes and special features like Spatial Audio support and Find My disappear completely
The sole feature (among all the new features) that really sold me on upgrading was the stem controls for volume. I wanted to wait for them to drop in price, but just went for it and sold my gen 1s for $100. Worth it!
Same here, literally after watching this video I decided to trade in my Gen 1s for £100 while they still hold some value and buy the gen 2s. Honestly just for the ANC I think it was worth it, often with the gen 1s I had to take them out and put them back in due to the pressure feeling but after having these in for hours I haven't had to do that once which also just generally increases the audio quality perception
Totally updated my perfectly fine and working airpod pro gen 1 - I daily drive those for 5-6 hrs every day and the improvement, however minor has been hugely noticeable. Also now the ANC is good enough to use on an airplane trip
Personally, the ANC improvements have gone miles for me. From hours of use I've not experienced the ANC pressure feeling and it has massively increased the perception of audio quality regardless of the actual improvements
I will say this every time, love the outdoor setting you use in the videos. Definitely sets you apart from all the studio reviews that don’t show us anything different. Love your perspective!
8:30 coming back to this video after having bought the APP2 now I have an actual point of reference, and I noticed something, I think that you may have not understood how head tracking works. at 8:30 you say you had head tracking "anchored" to your iPad despite listening to audio from your iMac, making it sound like the audio is coming from the wrong place. That isn't actually how head tracking works, it isn't "anchored" to any device at all, it's anchored to your head, literally. It doesn't use your device as a point of reference relative to the position of your AirPods in space, it uses the position of the AirPods in space _at the time of enabling head tracking_ as a point of reference. If you enable it while looking directly at your Mac screen, and then move your head around, it will sound like the audio is coming from your Mac as that's where you were facing when you enabled it. If you look in any other direction at the time of enabling it, it will appear to come from _that_ direction, regardless of where your device is positioned. This raises the question "what if I move, sit somewhere else, or was facing the wrong direction when I enabled it?". The AirPods recalibrate after a brief moment with no head movement, so if I'm on my Macbook at my desk facing East and I enable head tracking, it will sound like audio is coming from right in front of me/from my Macbook/from the East. Now if I stand up, grab my macbook, and go sit on the couch where I will now be facing North, as I sit down the audio will still come from where I _was_ sitting moments ago, from the East, but once I've sat down on the couch, and I've settled/stopped moving around, after around 10 seconds of sitting still and not moving my head, the AirPods will recalibrate to your new position, and the audio will shift to start coming from my new "default front direction", from the North, where my Macbook now is. So yeah it's nothing to do with the device, it doesn't use your device's camera to know where you are or anything, there must be a gyro or accelerometer or whatever baked directly into the APP2 for them to be able to have spatial localisation without using external info from a different device. I think what must have happened in your case is you were listening via your Mac and the audio was initially coming from where the iMac is positioned, then you glanced over to look at your iPad for a minute, the audio continued to come from the iMac as expected, but then the AirPods recalibrated to this new position which you must not have noticed (it's less noticing when audio shifts/recalibrates to your new position vs when you look back and expect the audio to become front and center again, only to have it become completely unbalanced), and when you looked back at your iMac you noticed the audio was no longer coming from front and center, but audibly coming from where you were looking a moment prior, your iPad. I think they should have enabled the option to have the physical location of the audio source be 100% persistent regardless of where you move, where you look, and for how long. I find it annoying when I want audio to come from my Macbook in front of me, then I glance over at my phone which is docked about 30 degrees to my right, and because it's docked I use it as is, with my index finger, rather than pulling out the dock every time to use it for >1 min at a time, then look back at my Macbook only to have off-center audio, just because my eyes weren't GLUED in my Macbook's direction. If I look away from where I _want_ the audio to come from, and I look away at something else, I feel like I have to keep looking back at my desired audio source to prevent them from recalibrating, otherwise, unless I am completely fixed and never looking away for longer than a few seconds, I'm constantly waiting for them to recalibrate, having to hold still and not look around to allow the AirPods to realise "OH, we have a new front direction! Recalibrate!". It seems that they only recalibrate if, not only if you have a "new default front direction", but also only if you hold still in that new direction for 10ish seconds (would need to time it to be sure), so if they have recalibrated to an incorrect direction just because you looked away for a few seconds too long, they will keep that incorrect direction source if you are actively glancing around, because the AirPods are evidently programmed to consider that it's normal for people to glance around, so they just assume you're glancing around away from your default front direction, UNLESS you hold completely still for long enough for them to switch to think "this must be the new front direction, recalibrate". Really long comment/analysis of the details of how head tracking works but there we have it. This might at least help some people to understand what's going on with their head tracking, because if they take this video at face value, they will start troubleshooting under the assumption that the AirPods are just anchored to the wrong device, using the wrong device as a source direction, when in actual fact all you need to do is stay still, and look in your desired direction for the AirPods to recalibrate by themselves. (Disabling and re-enabling head tracking is basically also a manual recalibration, just make sure that you are looking in your desired direction while you actually enable it, it will use your exact position at the moment of enabling it as the default position for audio to come from)
I've got the Gen1 Airpods Pro and I simply don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. They work perfectly fine for what I need. I'm meticulous about keeping my stuff together, so while the Find My improvements are nice, I've never lost my old ones in years of use. Most of the time, I use mine for screen recordings (as they're more comfortable and easier to use than my old wired earpods) or for listening to music or videos while I'm going to sleep. I work from home and I've got studio monitors at my desk that don't affect anyone else. I did pick up a pair of Genki Waveforms that I really like for gaming over my wired headphones (mainly because I can wire them directly into the case!), but they're lacking some functionality for general use (IMO) and, while they do sound good and have EQ adjustments, I find I don't really need (or want) that for general music listening. So the Airpods Pro Gen1 is going to stick around until they die for most of my needs.
Gotta say i love fixed spacial audio for music. Music just sounds SO MONO without it now…. I feel Apple also is doing some trickery by boosting volume, bass and highs in spatial audio mode, making it “sound better”.
Yes, to me it sounds way more natural, even on a stereo mix. I can’t listen to a song with a lot of hard pans (like Reckoner from Radiohead) without spatial audio anymore! By the way, technically Apple coud make (fixed) spatial audio available for any headphones if they wanted.
What a great example of an interesting video. So engaging. Well done guys. Great technique in editing and presenting. Loved it. Especially how you combine voice over with talking head so seamlessly. Will be striving to make videos more like this for sure. :)
recently, my airpods 1 crapped out on me. i'm thinking of upgrading to one of the pros as a semi-casual user. transparency mode would be favored by me, since then i could actually hear the outside world i don't know if i should get the 1st generation or the 2nd generation, i have tried looking online but gotten no definite answers
Update: Had a bad experience with apple repair, so a customer service agent straight up had a brand new pair of gen 2 pros shipped to me! They’re pretty great. Ugh I wear my AirPods Pro like all the time and these seem like great upgrades, I just can’t justify dropping a fat $200 on a new pair quite yet :/ I’m thinking about selling them to upgrade but the idea of going through eBay makes me nervous just because there are so many scammers
I wouldn't upgrade for anything but the battery life. They've also been quite buggy since launch, but the battery is amazing. Easily 6+ hours on a charge.
@@thor.mukbang yeah the battery on my gen 1s has been flagging a bit lately, which has gotten more annoying over time (especially with the heart attack inducing low battery sound). My AirPods are actually getting replaced because of that crackle issue, so I’m lowkey hoping a fresh pair will alleviate the battery pains a little bit
@@aoBubs I’ve been selling on eBay for years, I just don’t trust buyers for expensive Apple products because the odds of them claiming item not as described or something and asking for a partial/full refund isn’t insignificant
I thought about a new pair as well when I started hearing some clicking sounds on the right earbud. Then I found the replacement program from apple. Now I got the old case, but new set of 1st gen airpods pro. All that AFTER the 2 year warranty period! I honestly thought, "these expensive earbuds are now kinda justified" and "what other model/brand would have done this?" (clearly apple isn't perfect with warranties, but this was impressive still). So, no, I won't be upgrading soon :)
4:56 props to the one who mixed the audio of this video. I was just listening to the video and wondered if there is something in my ears that clicked (at first I though my jaw is broken or something because it's cracking and I can feel it hahah 😂) Awesome production props to all of you guys!!
I got AirPods Pro 2s on Launch Day, my first ever wireless headphones and I love them. Transparency mode is awesome, Noise Cancellation is good for Engine Noise… but not so good for voices. The XS Tips fit perfectly for me, they may stick out my ears a little bit more than most people as I have small ears, but, they sounds AMAZING. Great bass at all volumes, no distortion etc. I love them so much. Spatial Audio is great, on Stereo Music and Spatial Audio Supported Netflix. I have Personalised Spatial Audio turned on, I haven’t compared this On and Off though. I don’t use Spatial Audio with UA-cam as it sounds awful
I went with the 3’s over the pros for the non-intrusiveness and love them. Only time I regret it is on a flight where it’s surprisingly hard to hear at full volume - noise cancellation would come in handy there but it’s only a few times a year that comes into play so not worth the overall compromise in comfort.
Had Airpods 1 and thought that there is absolutely no need for Airpods Pro for me. Now, I don't use anything else than noise cancellation from those. It is insane, try them out and you will approve them in no time.
Glad to know I'm not the only suffereing @8:08. I was wondering if mine had issues until i remembered that my mouse is also on bluetooth. 2.4ghz interference ftw.
I lost my Bose QC 35ii recently and since I have an iPhone, I thought I would give airpods a chance so I bought a pair of these. Sometimes I am considering going back to Bose. Airpods have 2 disadvantages and two advantages. First disadvantage, you cannot connect them to flight entertainment screen, because no cable. Second, if you have Windows laptop for work, prepare to lose your mind trying to reconnect them from your phone to the laptop. Sometimes I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone to get them to connect to the PC. Since Bose has a cable, and can connect to two devices at once, both of these are non-issue. Now to the advantages. First, airpods are tiny and I can carry them in my pocket, making it much easier to have them on me at all times. With Bose, I always need to carry bulky case, making it unpractical. Second, charging. Having a case that can charge separately while you are listen is great. I never run out of juice, they recharge every time I store them. I always forgot to plug my Bose overnight. Of course, the sound is much better on Bose, bigger drivers. But airpods are good enough that it does not bother me too much, I can always use my speakers to play music at home, if I really want to focus on listening experience. If Bose ever makes a wireless charging stand for QCs, I'm going back. For now, the practicality of airpods is good enough for me to keep them, but barely.
Regarding the comment that Spacial Audio “anchored” to the iMac, about 8:29 : Spacial Audio does not anchor to any specific device because it doesn’t know where that device is. Rather, it assumes the location of the device based on where you’re looking when you start the audio. Try this, start some audio with SA while looking in one direction. Then, change your direction and look there for an extended period of time. The audio should re-orient to the new direction, independent of your device. Apple uses some trickery when you’re walking as well, and will decrease the amount of time you need to be looking in one direction for the audio to re-orient if they detect you’re moving in a direction. So, when you thought the audio was “anchored” to the iMac, it likely just re-oriented to the iMac after you’d been looking at it for some time.
looking back, you said it anchored to an iPad rather than the iMac it was supposed to. the point still stands. this happens to me if I’m watching a something on an iPad for two long rather than the Mac or iPhone audio is coming from.
Love the volume editing, though it did freak me out while watching the video with my AirPods Pro 2's. As a huge fan of the AirPods and the first gen Pro's I am personally blown away by the 2's. It's in the ANC and battery life that I notice the biggest difference. Personal disagreements about the tips and ANC life aside, it's a pretty fair review. The glitches with too many BT devices is annoying, but nothing compared to firmware updates making compatibility with third party apps worse over time. Teams is especially bad at transferring audio and the new MS default Noise Suppression "feature" renders them unusable until you turn it off.
Seriously the best value headphones are the wired earpods that I got with my iPhone SE or you can buy them for £19 in the UK (less if you shop around). Comfortable, decent enough sound, a wire connecting them so you don’t lose them and they never need charging. Plus because they are so cheap, you can just throw them in your pocket and if you lose them, it’s not the end of the world.
Surprising to hear about trouble connecting multiple bluetooth devices to a mac. On my Win10 PC it was the airpods pros that worked better with a bluetooth mouse compared to wf-1000xm4s.
I used my first generation all the time, like all the time. The battery difference alone on top of all the other great feature improvements was what sold me.
I still have my first gen AirPods, which are starting to die on me in a strange way. Left one works just fine, but the right one will die out after a couple of minutes. When used together, the right one will take out the left's connection. For mobility, I picked up the Razer Anzu on sale and love how I can just have my ears unobstructed which I prefer over the quality of bluetooth audio. And, If I am looking quality, nothing beats wired.
They are pretty great. Some nice-to-haves lost by being on Droid but I knew that going in. On the bright side, no way to get firmware nuked. As an aside, the sound design for this ep was great. Not sure if supposed to thank the editor or writer or both. But thanks.
I love all the on-location shooting. I wonder, with winter approaching if you would ever shoot a review in a wintery forest? That would be awesome and a dynamic imagery.
I personally only intended on upgrading my 1st gen AirPods Pro when they died. Sure enough, they started having problems and I got the 2nd gen... and it's an upgrade that I should have done regardless of how well my 1st gen ones worked. I sometimes use them as earplugs when sleeping, and the 2nd gen buds do so much better to block noise, then with transparency mode I can actually understand other people, and the sound is so much better. For me, any one of these would be worth the upgrade, but all three being that much better makes me wish I had upgraded sooner. On the other hand, there's the issue with Spacial Audio which isn't exclusive to the second generation AirPods. I tried editing video on my iPad with my AIrPods, and I found that Spatial Audio defaulted to on, and could only be controlled with an active audio stream, so basically while the video played in the editors I used. Pulling down Control Center stopped that stream, meaning that I had no way to turn Spatial Audio off, so needless to say that was irritating. Here's to hopes that Apple brings a fix out for that if they haven't already.
I'd like to hear more about your reasons for being against silicone tips because I have the exact opposite opinion here. I find the regular Air Pods to be pretty harsh and uncomfortable but the soft tips of the pro work well for me if I get the right size.
Yeah the audio cutting out isn’t just for bluetooth devices connect to an M1 Mac, its wireless. I had a Logitech keyboard and mouse connected to my Mac mini, and it still cut out. And it affected my keyboard and mouse performance. Drove me nuts.
Oh man this was a tough one, so, storytime, i've had wh-1000xm4's and they were great but i gave them away, then i got a sennheiser momentum 4 but returned them because the ANC was bad, so i got Airpods pro 2, the anc felt otherwordly, but after few weeks and a firmware update i compared them again with wh-1000xm4 anc and airpods were worse now(compared to when i got them, airpods had almost the same anc as sonys), so idk what happened with the ANC if it's the lawsuit or not, but i returned them, i bough the new wh-1000xm5, the anc was not as good and they were bulky and inpractical, out of the box sound was BAD, so i reordered the airpods pro 2 and i'm happy lmao, the firmware still hasn't updated so i hope they don't actually fuck up the ANC to the point where i'll have to stick triple plunged IEM's straight to my brain... edit: m1 macbook bluetooth connectivity is a hit or miss especially with a bluetooth keyboard+magic trackpad, same thing with my iphone 7... weird edit2: rtings compared the ANC of the new firmware and they found almost no change...
My Airpods Pro 1 are nearly 4 years old at this point. I use them everyday for at least 4 hours, even more sometimes. They are slowly dying : ANC or sound cuts off randomly, they won't charge, battery appears to be at 0% then jumps back to 100%. I do also run with these so they might have got some humidity too. Anyway, they still work but I'm seriously considering upgrading to the second gen.
Third party ear tips are a thing. I have several tradie (tradesmen?) friends who use these with third-party tips as sound protection from loud tools + listen to music + take calls + sound pass through all day while working.
the thing I like about the Airpods 3 is that they're super comfy for people that don't like silicone tips, there's a reason Apple didn't put tips on the regular airpods
I have tried probably two dozen wireless earbuds with a multitude of devices. For me, the Airpods Pro first gen (don’t have 2nd yet) are amazing for Apple devices only. Every other non-Apple pair has the same glitchy problem on every Apple device I own, even if I take it down to being the only bluetooth device. This has happened since my 6S+ up through the 13 Pro Max. Even my Mac Minis (Intel and M1) both glitch with anything except Apple’s pair. My personal advice, if you don’t mind *A* cord, get a Fiio BT5 and use a pair of high end wired headphones. It is still bluetooth and wireless but the best sound quality, regardless of device. BUT… for convenience, I carry my Airpods Pros around most of the time. And I love that my Apple TV can even see the battery status without putting into the charging case. ;)
Glad I saw this video on LTTs site. I have pros and was thinking about the pro2 upgrade but the small differences were keeping me away. This video Has really helped get the differences set straight. I also love the frequency response coverage.
I love mine BUT there is a bug right now that doesn’t disable head tracking even when I have the switch toggled in accessibility settings so I can’t use spatial audio at all. Very frustrating!
I felt almost forced to upgrade from my Gen 1’s. The squeaking/whistling when adjusting in my ear canal was something I was *extremely* relieved to be rid of. However, it became clear over time that Apple was hobbling the first gen’s performance as we got closer to the second. The battery life dropped significantly over the span of a single firmware update, both the ANC and “transparency” modes seemed way less effective, and connectivity became… odd. If I was listening to music on my iPhone while wearing my Apple Watch, walked away from my phone for a time, the AirPods would pair to my Watch and then think the priority device was the watch. On that note, why can’t we remove the Apple Watch pairing from our AirPods without removing them entirely from every device on our accounts? That makes zero sense to me. Until I power-cycled both the iPhone & Apple Watch and returned the AirPods to their case for a few minutes, the AirPods would *not* let go of thinking the Watch should be given connection exclusivity. Love my second gens, but I don’t look forward to how they’ll fare over time; especially when a third gen release becomes imminent
They broke the 2nd gen with the adaptive anc update, now when you select full noise cancellation it’s “noise cancelling” but then it picks up small noises across the room and amplifies them for no reason
I don’t know if AirPods have this available but I use memory foam ear tips for my KZ earbuds and it makes a huge difference for both comfort and noise isolation
I must say, I am extremely tempted by the new air pod pros. For me, the main attraction is the improved active noise cancelling. I work in a biology lab where we work with biosafety cabinets. These generate a ton of air flow to create an air curtain between us and our samples. But the result is just a lot of white noise. Same thing for the cooling fans on our microscope. If the ANC is truly much better than it is now (which already is pretty good), then I am tempted. The added convenience of on-the-bud volume control is another bonus.
I use mine at work for hearing protection. I work around gas turbines, steam turbines, and large oil less screw compressors. They cancel the noise very well.
I have them but I notice that sometimes the sound cuts out and I have that weird ear pressure even after a little period like only 15-20 min Isn’t what the vents was intended ? Or maybe am I missing something ?
For Black Friday I got the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen for $199 in the US. My sister has tested my AirPods Pro 1st Gen in the past and is asking for them for Christmas. I figure that way nothing is going to waste or to a landfill and I get the new ones for cheaper than they ever will be again. Also the case on my 1st Gen is a bit weathered with scratches and imperfections. The upgrade was worth it already but especially so in my situation.
The reason I stopped using my Gen 1's: my dog ate them. Literally, chewed the case and the left pod. The "connect" button on the case was permanently stuck down so I had to re-pair every time I wanted to use them basically.
Currently listening on my third pair of first Gen AirPods Pro, which are also buzzing and popping like the last two. Just don’t feel like talking to customer service again.
My question is, have they fixed the issue where on regular voice calls, all the noise around you gets amped up and people can barely hear you. I love my airpods pro, but man, having to take them out to do calls or even send voice messages over whatsapp makes it super inconvenient

Having all the audio queues in the video really helped make this video great. Good job everyone
So the Airpods Pro Gen1 is going to stick around until they die for most of my needs.
the feel of this channel improves with every video, and that's saying something considering how good it's been from the beginning.
0:22 when i had an m1 mac air, and mac mini yeah i didn't notice that weirdly they don't work as they should with a mac for some reason
"It was exhausting and felt suffocating. You however, might like that."
What a great example of an interesting video. So engaging. Well done guys. Great technique in editing and presenting. Loved it. Especially how you combine voice over with talking head so seamlessly. Will be striving to make videos more like this for sure. :)
The noise cancellation on the new ones was amazing when I was flying recently. Just AMAZINGLY effective...
recently, my airpods 1 crapped out on me. i'm thinking of upgrading to one of the pros as a semi-casual user. transparency mode would be favored by me, since then i could actually hear the outside world
i don't know if i should get the 1st generation or the 2nd generation, i have tried looking online but gotten no definite answers
6:03 on my airpors gen 1, the battery always shows there on the widget
My AirPods are actually getting replaced because of that crackle issue, so I’m lowkey hoping a fresh pair will alleviate the battery pains a little bit
you’re not likely to get scammed as an ebay seller. Do payment through ebay and don’t ship until they confirm payment
Oh no! 😔 I was hoping calls would sound better than the first gen!! So sad to read that it doesn’t 😮
The bluetooth audio disconnecting fx were very on point! The way the audio is chopped sounds identical to the real thing. Love this channel.
4:55 the sounds are so well done on the editing that it threw me off and i thought my airpods were being weird. i love the idea of that too.
Using the background music as a way to show and emphasize the volume changing, connection problems and ANC is a cool editing concept
Ayy random cameo by Andrew. Does that mean lttlabs audio guy used to work with them?
They might release a Type-C Airpods Pro within 1-2 years I guess and so I don’t think these are worth upgrading if you already have Pro Gen 1
this guy totally called it!
@@Coltonpan I got the Pro 2 and now I kinda regret not waiting Lol
dolby atmos supported tv shows and movies are amazing to watch with personalised spatial audio on
Glad to know I'm not the only suffereing @8:08. I was wondering if mine had issues until i remembered that my mouse is also on bluetooth. 2.4ghz interference ftw.
at 7:06 he is scanning his right ear when his iPhone says to scan his left.
Really wish there was a way to replace the battery on these as opposed to turning them into e-waste else I'd seriously consider them.
0:11 “After *hearing* the hype over the (y)ears…”
My… my… Jonathan!
Teams is especially bad at transferring audio and the new MS default Noise Suppression "feature" renders them unusable until you turn it off.
out of all the LMG channels - this one is the best, i love how it’s centred around apple and Jonathan’s dissection of everything is spot on😌
Seriously the best value headphones are the wired earpods that I got with my iPhone SE or you can buy them for £19 in the UK (less if you shop around).
Awesome video. Great image quality, cool audio queues, and great review! Congrats LMG!
I used my first generation all the time, like all the time. The battery difference alone on top of all the other great feature improvements was what sold me.
When you say all the time. I know exactly what you mean. Like I fall asleep with mine in lol.
6:00
Seems like it was OS update.
My old airpods case also shows battery life in the widget.
Only a few seconds after you put them in or take them out.
They are pretty great. Some nice-to-haves lost by being on Droid but I knew that going in. On the bright side, no way to get firmware nuked.
As an aside, the sound design for this ep was great. Not sure if supposed to thank the editor or writer or both. But thanks.
Great to see Bonobo track being tested out for sound 👌
They used the same exact track a couple videos ago as well. Somebody must really like that track :P
No wonder, the entire album is amazing.
I love all the on-location shooting.
I wonder, with winter approaching if you would ever shoot a review in a wintery forest? That would be awesome and a dynamic imagery.
Finally frequency response graphs
I was watching this with my Pro 2s and the sound effects that you added freaked me out a bit with how good the editing was.
I have ADHD and misplace my case all the time. I only got the new gen for the case speaker and location tracking and it’s been a lifesaver
I got the Pro 2. Gave my old ones to the missus. Worth it even for the Magsafe support.
Didn’t expect such nice weather in Canadian November
The independent sound effects caught me off guard but were nice.
Yeah the audio cutting out isn’t just for bluetooth devices connect to an M1 Mac, its wireless. I had a Logitech keyboard and mouse connected to my Mac mini, and it still cut out. And it affected my keyboard and mouse performance. Drove me nuts.
Oh man this was a tough one, so, storytime, i've had wh-1000xm4's and they were great but i gave them away, then i got a sennheiser momentum 4 but returned them because the ANC was bad, so i got Airpods pro 2, the anc felt otherwordly, but after few weeks and a firmware update i compared them again with wh-1000xm4 anc and airpods were worse now(compared to when i got them, airpods had almost the same anc as sonys), so idk what happened with the ANC if it's the lawsuit or not, but i returned them, i bough the new wh-1000xm5, the anc was not as good and they were bulky and inpractical, out of the box sound was BAD, so i reordered the airpods pro 2 and i'm happy lmao, the firmware still hasn't updated so i hope they don't actually fuck up the ANC to the point where i'll have to stick triple plunged IEM's straight to my brain... edit: m1 macbook bluetooth connectivity is a hit or miss especially with a bluetooth keyboard+magic trackpad, same thing with my iphone 7... weird
edit2: rtings compared the ANC of the new firmware and they found almost no change...
The thing you did with the sound, that you here the headphone sound is amazing.
Try turning off Hand Off if you have choppy/laggy bluetooth. I can now use BT mouse, keyboard, and headphones without issue.
As for your last point, good third party foam tips are a game changer for comfort.
the thing I like about the Airpods 3 is that they're super comfy for people that don't like silicone tips, there's a reason Apple didn't put tips on the regular airpods
This is the first time I've ever seen a reviewer who prefers non-silicone eartips (which I do, too). Thank you, there are dozens of us! Dozens!
Never get AirPods 3.
I have all the AirPods, and from me - just get the AirPods Pro 2. You will be delighted.
What you doing in that tropical environment Jonathan? That ain’t Vancouver.
The sound effects for changing modes / volume were a nice touch. I watched this with my AP2s and it sounded like you were changing mine.
I like how you turned on noise canceling for the sponsor spot, then turned it off afterwards. 👌
Using them right now. They’re amazing!
I'm rarely impressed by production quality in day-to-day youtube videos, but man, you guys are doing an insane job.
Whyd yall use the noise to turn off anc/transparency when you turned it on
I have them but I notice that sometimes the sound cuts out and I have that weird ear pressure even after a little period like only 15-20 min
Isn’t what the vents was intended ?
Or maybe am I missing something ?
Small and subtle upgrades all around, but nonetheless useful ones! It’s a good improvement on an already great product.
I love the outdoor shots. Really shows off the beauty of canada
Watching your vids has always had that feel of chatting with your best mates about tech, keep on doing what you're doing!
Cool idea to have put the actual earbud sound effects in the video! At first I thought mine were bugging out while listening!
Hmm I've never had drop outs on my Mac.. try turning automatic switching off
Wait, why didn't you use the LTT labs headphone tester?
Agree on the AirPod 3. Also hate ANC and have been all-in on standard AirPods from the beginning.
Does the AP2 ANC work much better than the original AP1 before the firmware that borked the ANC?
Tip for the Tips: Replace them with foam from amazon. Did it a year and a half ago and have not gone back to silican't
This is seriously one of the best and honest channels on UA-cam. Keep it up!
I have the old pros and the spatial audio is my favourite feature. Every time i a bud without it i feel like the sound is “empty”
My question is, have they fixed the issue where on regular voice calls, all the noise around you gets amped up and people can barely hear you. I love my airpods pro, but man, having to take them out to do calls or even send voice messages over whatsapp makes it super inconvenient
