    I bought this. They don't know I'm making a video. They didn't ask me to make a video. I'm fairly certain they don't know this channel exists. If you want one, go here: voltagevibes.c... (not an affiliate link, idc what you do with your money)

    😂 loved the photoshop! Not having a Matriarch, I agree! Lots of space!

    I literally just spent half a day conceptualizing how I might build something like this myself. thank you for bringing this to my attention.

    I solved the patch point, MIDI only modulation, and stereo mixer limitations with white on black labels for the top front edge, a Befaco VCMC eurorack module (VC to MIDI), and Manhattan Analog DTM eurorack module (Moog CP3 mixer). I verified the asymmetrical clipping of the DTM is EXACTLY the same as the CP3 mixer on the Matriarch with an high resolution oscilloscope.

    I have a grandmother. I like it a lot. perhaps I even love it. but I've longed for the matriarch for many moons now. my recent discovery of your channel has rekindled that flame. the case you got for it is... exquisite. hellzjeah!!

    I'd love to get a wood case with a 1u space along the top like this! Sonically and functionally is pretty much the perfect (affordable) Moog for me, I just wish that issue was resolved and maybe sturdier switches were used and maybe push-pull pots for the mixer section and glide to switch them on and off quickly.... The switches should actually be pretty easy I think, not sure about the push-pull pots

    That’s cool bro, thx for the input, they got a full kit for GM

      looks like theyve got a 3U for GM: voltagevibes.com/product/grandmother-back2front-3u-edition/ and also a generic unlabeled 1U version that you can write your own descriptions on: voltagevibes.com/product/any-back2front/

    Yeah you're right that is pretty dumb.

      I also think that more patch points on the front makes for a more impressive first impression. Missed opportunity or maybe just an afterthought in their design and what pieces might’ve been locked in before they though of those additional patch points

      @@Jin-Hu they’re part of the extension cabinet from needhamworks, they fit over the existing ends very snuggly and then the extension mounts up from them

      @@thismeanswarbasse I just watched your videos about it, really nice pieces and a very attractive way to extend to the modules

    It's too late for that now! Moogs are not supposed to be efficient! They are supposed to be impractical missing a thing or two and sound great! As they will no doubt be taken on by Beringer you will have your wish for an efficient Moog soon I'm sure.💀💀💀

    Second worse design flaw is that delay time has no patch point. The only way to automate it is midi cc. Hope Behringer brings a version of the matriarch with better UX.

      @williamcox7274 10 місяців тому

      Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do, but there are 2 patch points (Time 1 In & Time 2 In) to control delay time for each half of the stereo delay

    • @sonicspecter
      @sonicspecter 10 місяців тому

      @@williamcox7274 they work like a offset for the time knob, not a direct modulation of time. I have audible aliasing when modulating the time with CV, I think it is because the modulation is mapped to the whole number divisor of the clock or because of some limitation in the scan rate of the CV value.
      I think I would expect either a clock input or a continuous CV input for the clock oscillator to get nice chorus effects or do audio rate modulation…
      I found a global setting “delay sync CV bend” which might do what i want (not tested yet).
      Otherwise the delay sounds extremely good… bought the matriarch particularly for the stereo filter and this stereo delay…
