Are your Dr Martens rubbing on the top of your foot?

  • Take them to your local shoe repair shop and get them stretched. If they don't have a proper boot stretch ask nicely and they'll use a standard stretcher on it's side like in the video above. You can also buy a stretcher on Amazon but they often don't have enough grunt to do this trick.

I’ve got particularly wide feet, and have always had a job that requires suits. It took me a long time to start stretching new shoes out with “things” inside them for a week or so before wearing them, I still get blisters but I don’t have the once a year crippling pain anymore.
    Great video

Good to hear you have a plan that works. Keep an eye out for a second hand shoe stretcher, ideally one that you can fit little bumps on where you need them. Then you might get away with zero blisters.

Hi Andrew, if you are looking for a shoe stretcher you'll find them in shoe repair shops and many shoe retailers have one stashed away out the back and forgotten. If you want to buy one Amazon have them. At home you can cut the end off and old well worn broom handle and use the smooth end against the inside of the boot upper. The other end sits on the insole or a strip of wood lying inside the boot. Good luck with your boots.

I have 1460 platforms and they’re brand new. They fit perfectly in length but are narrow through the toe box. Should I expect they’ll stretch enough in time that I’m not going numb? Or go up a size?

These boots are so much of a pain in the ass they should just make them better, That's why I always buy Carolina boots........, I've had a doc Martin boots a handful of times and even after having them for a month or two and wearing them off and on they still never really broken and always rubbed my feet and my opinion they should just make him better and not make them at all a lot of people get food injuries from doc martens like either blisters or other things happen

Find something, that you can jam across inside the boot. Consider looking inside kids wooden blockset. Needs to be smooth at both ends so you wrecked the insides of your boots. Ideally smaller on the little toe side, Deodorant bottle?
