I never did any of these things to my dm's nor did i get ever get blisters. And i wore mine every day for over 20 years . I wore them out and was even then reluctant to stop wearing them.
I've got the 2976 crazy horse and have wonder balsam, can I still use wonder balsam to condition them boots when they start feeling dry, or is dubbin the way to go instead?
Am I one of the few who owns really nice DMs??? Everyone talks trash about DMs but mine are super comfortable and made of real leather. Obviously just don’t buy the smooth leather/plastic DMs…
I've had my 1460 smooth leather boots for about 6 months. I've been using Wonder Balsam but the crease at the on the top of the boots has become heavily cracked. I was advised by your customer service team that this is due to wear and tear - after 6 months? How should I care for the cracked leather?
We suggest using our Wonder Balsam or a neutral wax/cream, to help maintain the condition and keep the leather soft and moisturised in order to extend the life of the footwear. Unfortunately, once the leather has become dried out and cracked, it won't be possible to restore the footwear to its original condition. Thanks.
@DrMartensOfficial Thanks for that. Wonder Balsam is what I have been using since buying the boots. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped in preventing the leather from drying out.
Is it better to delace your boots when they are new for the first few months so you are not trying to cram them on and relace once you have them comfortably on.
How many people here used to wear Docs back in the day but then you grew up and realized their boots suck now? Imagine having to tell people how the boots will punish you while you wear them. It's because they're made of really stiff, really cheap leather.
Not only is a cheaper leather but is fucking expensive, i bought the “soft leather” black and after 1 months it was creating bubbles like the black part was going out and now the shoes is totally destroyed and i trashed it. Only 1 year using, it was fucking frustrating. I just bought a new one oxblood color and i was going to buy the made in England version but it seems that they don’t do it anymore the one that its not a boot but like a shoe short version, anyway, i really hope that doesn’t happen the same
It’s pointless trying to condition the Docs because they have a heavy plastic coating to give them that high shine look. So whatever conditioner you use will just sit on top of the plastic and not reach the leather. Unless you apply it on the inside.
Docs are utter garbage these days. The soles are see through ffs!!! The leather is so thin, barely 1.2mm , it can be torn by hand. I won't be paying £170 for boots made in Bangladesh
Never had an issue with mine, is it possible you got copies? I will agree they are very costly now but I don't think the quality has really dropped since I bought my last pair
Literally have had my pair of crazy horse for 8 years, not treated them once and they're in amazing condition. I wear them religiously and used to wear then everyday back when I was a bartender. I get the impression u don't own a pair.
@@The_Lost_One you're obviously unable to distinguish cheap leather from quality and fake advertising as well. AirWair soles way back at their launch in the 1960s. Referring to the air bubbles in the soles, using air pockets. the trouble is there is no air pockets because the soles are not sealed.
Lia is such a queen she deserves a promotion

thats because DM's arent the same anymore, theyre cheaper made and sold for more
Which ones? The Dr martens were made much better quality years ago
I never got blisters or any sore feet with my doc’s
I recommend saddle soap for cleaning, followed by mink oil to restore the leather, then a creamy lotion polish.
Lia is UNREAL
Great stuff Daniel!!
thank you guys for this video it was really helpfull
Lia has the best pair! But those Ox Blood look sick! So hard to find!

NEW OWNER HERE! I’m kind of curious about wiping it down after putting in balsam, won’t it just wipe away the product?
You want to apply the Wonder Balsam all over the boot and then wipe away any excess. Only a small amount needs to be absorbed into the leather
I love you got young Mick Jagger to interview the guys
J'aimerai bien voir la fabrication d'un modele vernis/patent.
Smooth leather needs dubbin
Will it darken them?

How did you manage to buy a 25 year old pair?

@@jaz9000did you use it before wearing them? Did the balsam darken the boots?
I just bought a pair and I don’t know if I need the dubbin or balsam
Buy solovairs. Won't have this problem.
Does the balsam darken the leather
Bring back the industrial Chelsea’s PLEASE
We don't have plans at the moment but we'll pass the message on
@@DrMartensOfficial I know :(, I just love the look of the 2976s and being able to wear them at work. Literally the best work boot I’ve owned
What to do if the boots squeak?
I’m not sure. I think it’s insole, but it might be an outsole too.
I’ve got 1460 nubuck model
I would suggest that you remove the mouse!

You don't need to completely delace them but wear them looser. You still want the boot to shape to your foot
Bring back soles for life please!

For real. However their creepers are actually pretty comfortable.
You need to earn their love. Once it broke in it’s actually comfortable. Same as cats

You can't go wrong with the 8053 Quad

A fine pair of dockers 😂
I'm an old punk, lol , 55 young .

0:43 that would be an old punk
DM’s aren’t what they used to be, just a foreign made fashion boot these days and so over priced 🤷🏻♂️
Do not pee on your shoes 🙅🏻♀️😂

Dr. Martens Boots/shoes are a total rip off, -0 quality.
N'importe quoi 😂
