Excellent job!
I teach art lessons, and I like to use this video to help students pick out basic simple shapes in the scene. Good opportunity to talk about thru hiking, backpacking, leave no trace, and of course sharing your utube channel with their parents.
WOW! You have a gift for capturing the beauty of our country on video.
Thanks for this awesome video. Now I have to watch all your CDT videos... but that’s fine as I have plenty of time at the moment 😉
I've watched this 5 times in a row, its incredible
Thank you :)
The views were amazing. Such beautiful country.
I think you might have answered me in the CDT facebook group when i asked for videos like this. You pointed to your longer stuff, which i had said i was saving for closer to my hike. THen you make this?!! This was an amazing little teaser. I've already watched a lot of your desert section stuff, but i just noticed this came out. It has a lot of stuff i hadn seen in other shorter videos. well done
Yeeaahhh, I decided to jump on board and make a short CDT video. Way to call me out! Haha. In addition to the longer series, as a trailer of sorts, it makes sense. Plus it was a fun video to make.
Just watched your Director of Toughness video, very cool! Man you've been all over, that is awesome. Just subbed ya! Are you going to be filming your CDT hike?
@@SeekingLost yea I am def going to film it. thaks so much! my wife and I have watched your longer stuff util the colorado border. what camera did you use?
This is epic, you deserve all my respect for this achievement
@@alexandretricaud347 thank you so much for that!
Epic-watched your journey way back, stumbled on it by accident and watched 27 or 28 straight vlogs-lol,I was brain dead but finished it in about week-your 5min vid took me back like I was hiking the trail with you, thank you
I walked across America last year and am doing it again right now. Your videos put mine to shame. Good job! 😊
That's awesome, Mike! What trail/route are you taking? I'll have to check out your channel
@@SeekingLost Last year I made my own route from Southern California to Pueblo, CO, then mostly followed the American Discovery Trail the rest of the way to Delaware.
For this trip from the UP down to Key West I'm using parts of the North Country Trail, North Central State Trail, snowmobile and ORV routes, the Buckeye Trail, Sheltowee Trace, a little piece of the AT and then the Florida Trail. The gaps will be filled with whatever trails I find or simply road walking (which I think most of Georgia will be). However, I'm using the Gravelmap website to at least try to find as many dirt roads as possible.
Don't know about you, but I'm exhausted...and thrilled! Thanks for letting us tag along.
This was excellent! Great shots and production! I have watched your trip so much now, I actually remembered some of these places! The most beautiful places on Earth are on the CDT! Can't thank you enough for taking the time, and huge effort, to document your trip! Lastly, I could never imagine walking 3000 miles! That is just unreal.
Amazing and has to be one of the best short films of the CDT I've seen!
Love this. Thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot for sharing your CDT hike, haven't watched them all yet, but thanks for doing such an amazing job on all the videos, I'm a fellow thru hiker but only on the AT so far, but your videos are PURE entertainment for us hikers, thanks a lot. I have over 32 acres on a ridge in Kentucky, if you ever pass through you always have a place to stay here
Hey congrats on your AT thru hike! Glad you enjoyed the videos, hope it helps plant the seed/dream for a future adventure. And thanks for that generous offer, I will keep that in mind if I'm passing through! Happy trails
Awesome job highlighting your thru hike. I loved the whole series you did last year. Take care man.
Thank you! This was a fun video to make. I hope you're able to get out and enjoy some of that beautiful New Mexico backcountry during all this madness. Had to cancel my GET hike this spring, otherwise I'd be in the Gila right about now! Happy trails
Knocked it out of the park! Perfect video, cuts, and music. Bravo.
That was fantastic! I watched the series last year and this is a great recap of an epic journey. I love the shots of the Gila and the Winds. Beautiful stuff!
Winds and Gila were my favorites too! Thanks for watching
Excellent recap! Thanks for sharing. 👍
When I discovered your channel you were already done BUT finished your whole journey in about a week watching as soon as I got up till I went to bed since I had just had knee surgery so what better thing to do when you cant walk, what a rush and to watch your clip it put a big smile on my face-EPIC
What a binge! Bummer about your knee, glad the videos helped you through it. I think I would do the same, be dreaming of the mountains...
Awesome to see select memorable scenes of your epic journey! Thanks for sharing, Famous!
This was a fun video to make, although very difficult to whittle down to 5 minutes. Glad you enjoyed it!
I watched your entire journey and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having lived in Montana for several years, I had been to a few of the spots on the CDT in Montana and Wyoming, but never hiked any large portions of it. Well done! Looking forward to more adventures.
Thanks Dan! Hey congrats for making it through the whole thing, I believe it's over 8 hours. Did you do any hiking in the Beartooths? I think that's tops on my Montana list right now.
We've been going to the Cooke City area and hiking in the southern part of the Beartooths and are going back again this summer (if Covid allows our house rental in Cooke City) . It's such a beautiful area and LOTS of cool places to check out.
YES, TOTALLY WANT TO SEE MORE!!
thank you so much for putting this on, I followed your journey CDT journey, it never gets old...
Great job Eric. I was hoping it wasn't going to be a speed loop like I've seen others do. It was a really good way of setting up your full trip.
Thanks Bill! Oh geez no, quality control is in full effect here :)
Well that was awesome! Well done and thanks!!
Excellent video!
Wow! Just what I needed to see.
What an amazing journey! Life changing I 'm sure.
Oh absolutely! Life changing indeed, don't want to go back to the city, a cubicle, none of that. Just give me a van and a map, haha
You are shooting some very nice vistas that I have not seen from other people on the CDT, good eye. Color balance could be a bit better. Looks like a wonderful trip. Glad you were safe . Good luck on next adventure.
Very well done! I can't wait to watch the full series. Since I'm planning to hike SOBO I might watch them in reverse order... :)
Thank you. Best of luck on your SOBO journey!
Amazing. Well done
I'd love to hike there! Thanks for sharing
thank you for condensing 5 months to 5 minutes . Nature is taking a break now from humans ;D thanks for bringing us on your journeys. Well see a huge array of your trips in the future por seguro ;)
A bit easier to watch than 8+ hours, eh? I hope nature enjoys the break because I can't wait to get back out there!
Eriiic where are you? Go radio silent again ?
Really great series of CDT vids you did!
Awesome video! I would love to be able to complete a hike like this. Will be anticipating more great videos from your channel!
These are some beautiful shot/scenes of the CDT. You did a great job telling your story in just over 5 minutes. Thanks for sharing. Just subbed.
When you're done with your pioneered route in the Southwest it would be cool to hear you on the Trailshow podcast.
Heck yeah, that would be cool!
Beautiful
Beautiful hike & amazing video. Binge watched your whole journey thru the CDT. Really love your videos. The angles, the editing, the music, the humor & heart that shine thru them... Especially the off trail adventures in the Wind River Range & the Tetons with Katie & Hopeful. Thank you for sharing the amazing journey! Can't help but ask, do you know what happened to Katie & Hopeful in the bad weather in Glacier park after you guys separated towards the end of the CDT hike? Did they have to turn back?
So Katie bailed with me back to East Glacier. I decided to road walk the rest of the way, and she ended up meeting up with another hiker named Magoo in St Mary's... they hiked the rest of the way to Waterton Lake in the snow! Hopeful pushed on from Old Man Lake over two more passes in the snow, and he bailed at St Mary's. He ended up road walking to Port of Piegan (where I ended) a couple days later. We all made it :)
@@SeekingLost Thank you! Really glad that everyone made it out OK.
Best footage (this and full-length CDT-hike). It could be from National Geographic.
Keep it up!
Thank you! I can't wait to bring you the next adventure :)
You know I like it.
Shouldn't you be in a canoe? :) Love your channel as well Jim.
Nice video! 👍
I met this guy on his next walk and he was walking every mountain range in Nevada
Eriiic we are looking fwd to see Nevada adventures ! Dont forget about us =D
Hey Vlad! Just got back home a few days ago. Whew that was one helluva hike! I hope to share some Nevada video early this fall. It's coming :)
@@SeekingLost well it brings comfort to know you are back in one piece. See you in your upcoming videos. Have a nice home time.))
Hey just want to say thank you for posting your back packing trips love to watch. Also was wondering what kind of shoes you wore for hiking?
Great footage man. Those camera lens really pull out that landscape. When were you last in Colorado? I shoot some mountaineering/hiking videos out here. Keep at it!
Thanks! I was actually out in Colorado last August for a couple of days of a 35 day road trip. Ended up doing the Decalibron loop with a couple of buddies... Mt Bross, Democrat, Lincoln and Cameron. Where's your favorite Colorado locations? I'll have to check out your videos! Thanks for watching
@@SeekingLost Right on! DECALIBRON is a long day, lol. I really enjoy the Sangre de Cristo for mountaineering and Ouray for ice climbing the most. RMNP is also beautiful, but a little crowded.
Nice !
Hi Eric! How is everything? Lots going n on the world these days, craziness! We are way into October and you know what I am driving at ;) Your NV trip. Where is it =(
Hey Vlad! I'll be honest, I just started editing a week ago. I have 52 hours of footage to go through which is going to take months. The project sounded too daunting after I returned home, when all I really wanted to do was be outside and enjoy the last remaining days of good weather before 6 months of cold and grey set in here. Then I won't mind sitting in front of the computer all day! I wanted to make a teaser video, but I can't even do that until I've gone through all 52 hours of footage. Oh and also, going on another 200 mile hike in a month :) I hope to post a channel update video soon to address the BRT videos and announce the next hike.
@@SeekingLost I am so happy to know you are safe and sound. Please dont vanish for so long from your followers!!! I am very appreciative of you still remembering my name. Impeccable memory! Good choice to spend grey days doing editing. Where will it be, your 200miler? Thank you for the updates! Have a wonderful day!
I know, I'm not very good at posting content frequently. Especially during the warmer months! The 200 miler... I have a video update edited to address that, and a quick look at the BRT, coming out in a few days :)
Ive seen your recent updates on patreon Eric it is sad you have to scratch your plans but whatever happens it happens for the good , although pandemic is the most ridiculous mass-scale weird thing Ive ever seen in my entire not so long life. Hopefully it will resolve if not we will resolve it because we need nature ))))
It's a crazy time for sure. Unfortunately it sounds like something we'll be dealing with for a while in some capacity. Can't wait to get back out there though, especially after so little hiking last year!
Can you tell me what happened to Hopeful in Glacier when you guys separated due to the snow at the end of your CDT hike? Did he make it to Waterton or have to turn back? That weather looked miserable, I can't see how anyone could have finished that without significant winter gear (i.e. ski's or snow shoes and more warm clothes than you guys were carrying). I see in your trip back to Glacier the next summer that at least Katie made it out alive.
Katie went back out there and finished the Highline Trail to Waterton with a hiker name to Magoo. Crazy, I know, to bail out and then want to go right back out there. But that's exactly what she did. Hopeful went over one more pass, triple divide pass, before bailing down to St Marys, walking into Babb, and finishing at port of piegan like I did. Nobody died 😁
Great adventure and great video - thank you! Can I ask what camera you used?
Thanks Dave! For this hike, I used a GoPro 4 with an EVO SS gimbal
To think I hiked this journey blind to it all and with a broken heart over someone not worth caring about. Oh well, just have to do it again. \m/
Eric what was your daily stretching routine? How many times a day did you stretch? Any other advice on body maintenance? Thanks!
wonderhussey's video brought me here
I just saw her video... Very cool, thanks for stopping by!
Hello...Wonderhussy sent me.
