Hi there I have a audi a3 2016 sportback when start up its chugging and when it's low speed as well but no engine light nothing on dash do you think it was be a coil pack on its way out can you help me
I been experiencing the same symptom recently, engine shudders and the blinking engine light. I'm gonna check with the vag scanner tomorrow but my mechanic was saying it could be piston rings. If I get similar codes to yours, is there any chance it could actually be piston rings or more likely sparks and coil pack? I got an audi s3 2007 btw
not sure tbh mate, id assume that if its those codes its deffo an ignition/spark problem... so hopefully new plugs or coil pack would solve it and not an expensive repair like piston rings..:( I would do the scan and change the cheapest parts first like a process of elimination...if the light comes on immediately, aren't you better of changing the order of the sparks and coil packs to check whether its just the spark/coil in the cylinders? great engine though!

Right so mines abit rough on idle, car does wana cut off at start. Just recently serviced it, new spark plugs etc, but still issue there... but no check engine management light on... any ideas? Or shud i change the ignition coils??
You could change the ignition coils but if the was an issue like that required a coil change, a light would have come up I would expect. if you've got the money then yeh why not but if not get it done to a garage and get it checked out, could be a fueling issue..

Hi I know this video was posted quite long ago but my A3 8p 2.0tfsi also suffers from insane misfires however i do not get any engine management lights. To be honest i never actually seen the light come on this is with failed ignition coils, popped pcv and loads of boost leeks stil no engine light and dont know if there is actually anything wrong. After a vcds scan it only shows my evap system error code( the feed line to the charcoal canister is shot and get a slight whiff of fuel) so yep any thoughts on this?
Mines still does on a rare occasions now, and EML does come on and shows code p0407 (egr) so iv replaced egr, brand new and 2nd hand one (twice) still plays up sometimes. Iv given up on it now, so still drive it, but just on some occasions it plays up. I think im just used to it now. And tbh cant afford to spend on this anymore. Will be selling by end of year.
i changed plugs and coils code still comes up. rough idle, any idea what it could be. i heard carbon build up, fuel injectors, coil cables, ecy, diverter valve
Not sure mate...yes could be any of those things...highly doubt Diverter valve...Theres a separate code for that...deffo could be fuel injectors..need proper mechanic tools to check compression and injectors. Carbon build can be done yourself with some advice from UA-cam but I'd rather pay someone to do it cos the results are a lot better .. Whether that would solve the problem no one can tell you.. I say get it into a garage

Unfortunately I don't have an idea as to what could be giving off those symptoms, if in doubt get it scanned either yourself or at a local garage and maybe you would have some stored codes?

Can I rely on OBD data to find out the right time to change spark plugs? If I change "old" spark plugs based on the Audi maintenance sheet, they look like new.

Sparks are normally going bad when the car is misfiring or running lumpy or in some cases struggling to start..
normally every 3 years or 30000 miles I would matey

Hi I have a audi a3 saloon sline 1.8tfsi stronic 2014. Recently I ha r my car to audi Harold wood as I wanted to have a major service done on it. My car has only done 36000 miles. Anyways they did my service and after a week when I was in a standstill my car started juddering and epc light and engine light started flashing. I switched it off and switched it on and it was back to normal. But it only happens when I'm on standstill and in drive mode with foot on break. I called out recoverh and they gave me codes of p0300, p0302, p0303. I went to audi next day and they checked my car bit said they was nothing wrong. Clearly since they did my major and changed my spark plugs it started happening. Will audi take responsibility if I show them the recj efy report with fault codes? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I'm getting a miss fire coming from cylinder 2. I believe, I would require a coil pack replacement kit.
However, My question is do I need to replace all 4 ignition coils or can I just get one Coil for cylinder 2?

+90nadz I'd say swap cylinder 2 spark plug to another cylinder whilst keeping coils in same order and see if the missfire moves to another cylinder. If this happens then it is spark plug. If error stays as cylinder 2 then it is the coil pack. In spark plug misfire cases, swap 4 old for 4 new. If it is the coil pack that needs replacing then a single change is fine but some people like to swap all 4 if funds allow... There's nothing wrong with swapping out one coil pack by itself.

Thanks for clearing that up for me as I was alittle confused for the single change over for coil as Cylinder 2 is where the error is occuring. Fingers crossed it's sorted as right now its horrible langing drive. On the plus side I got my cambelt and water pump fitted today. At least thats out the way! lol

I'm getting engine vibration (will call it aggressive at times) when I accelerate which stops once I stop acceleration but no blinking light and it tends to be worse when the car is asked to work a bit harder (up hill). . Also, it only happens on occasion, happened last Tuesday on my way somewhere but not on the way home and has not happened since but has happened at least 3 times before. Had CV joints and engine mounts replaced but problem is continuing. Mechanics are at a loss and think it could be transmission related. Transmission place was not sure either. Any thoughts?

I understand this video is a bit old so if you cant answer no worries but is this the 2.0t 8P chassis? And if so how was the performance after that intake modification? Ive heard that changing the intake doesnt boost enough to be worth the money unless you really want it
Yes mate, the famous sold 8p chasis...performances wasn't really noticed until I done the remap..then the noise was more evident and yes like you said its not a major difference until you do some stage 2 mods like exhaust etc...Thanks for watching, TW.

I got all new coil packs and spark plugs at the beginning of this year and my engine light is glowing like a xmas tree with the same codes p0300, p0301,p0302, p0303, p0304. But my a3 is running beautifully.. I also cleaned out the carbon by using crc intake valve and turbo cleaner and still so I'm dumbfounded.. Think I should change all sparks again or all coil packs?
07 a3s are notorious for computer gremlins and burning oil

You have the EPC light on your dash board what does that mean as I have that on my Audi A3?
The EPC warning light is a warning light that indicates a problem with your throttle system, including the throttle body, accelerator pedal, cruise control, or traction control it can be cause by many things so get it checked with a obd2 reader
i dont have a scanner, but one of the coils looked dirty. maybe its that one spark plug i must change? i have the same simptoms!
I would always advise to get car scanned. If it's a misfire it normally points to ignition issues yes.
I would scan before dishing out dollars 💷💷

My a3 is not going beyond 2000 rpm it’s not giving boost or turbo kick however turbo working there is ignition coil light blinking in odometer and few others
Sounds like an injector issue, get them all tested cars gone into limp mode because of it

+TW Randomz well in my case, i have a passat b6 1.6 fsi, bought it 2 months ago,it had the check engine light on (diagnosed EGR valve and O2 sensor) but it run just fine!
Few days ago and after an oil and filter change, i pushed it a little bit and than the light started to flash with a loss of power and the car was shaking!
After that, and on cold start it works fine but when the engine is worm the problem start over!
I tried to check just like u did and i found some oil in the third coil and spark plug! Cleaned it and switched the spark with second one, nothing changed except a new annoying clicking noise!
+Khadraoui Med Moktar I had only on mine too, change spark plugs and then oil came on the new ones too, so I changed the coil pack on that specific plug and so far so Good! God bless
