That has been one of my favorite lines in any movie for 40 years! In fact, this morning I bought dessert to bring to someone’s house tonight, and I made sure to get an assortment so El Presidente’s henchman wouldn’t get annoyed with me.
The end of the scene (the dialogue between the three men when Allen has left the room) could have been something like: "But... why are we speaking English to each other?".
I may have seen this Movie when I was younger, but I don't remember it. I was listening to some Podcast when one of the Hosts recomnmended the Movie as a Documentary about Cuba and South America.. I think I will try to watch it somehow.
President: "May be some poison in my food, but I am ok. I have been poisoned so many times, I have developed an immunity.' Gee, someone must be trying to assassinate the president. But who? I'm guessing its the rebels. This is my 28th comment I have ever posted on youtube in my life.
Late to the game here - thanks for uploading.
His earliest movies and Manhattan were my all time favorites!
...so many visual and period jokes still funny today..if you're as old as I am...
- He brings cake for a group of people. He doesn't even bring an assortment.- You cannot forget that?

I love that El Presidente is defending his food order in his own palace. "I had only ONE roast beef!."

Carlos Montalban (Ricardo’s older brother) as the dictator. He also played El Exigente in the long series of Columbian coffee commercials.
No kidding? Interesting.
i can imagine
...which is why El Exigente always approved of the coffee crop...the people wouldda kilt him otherwise...
I can hear him say " rich Corinthian leather ".
It's fucking ColOmbian for fuck's sake. I know I'm three years late but why do you not know this? Columbia is some woman who the USA idolised.
He still has the tailor's chalk marks on his suit.
