Thank you for video. You have a better countertop in your garage than most people have in their kitchens. It's nice to see people fixing broken items instead of just buying new.

While UA-cam can certainly bring out the narcism in many people, it is so nice that there are also many people like you who just want to help others just for the sake of helping. I so appreciate you taking time out of your day to make a video to help people solve problems and save money. Thank you so much...most grateful!

Hi Lisa, I appreciate your comment. Everything that I don't know how to do it or fix it, I came here and thanks to a lot of people that take some time of their day to help the others like you said, we are able to learn a lot and save some money. From how to work on excel formulas, change valves on a car engine, wrap a car, and many others things, here is where I came.
      Thank you

Thanks Ray, that's was a saved piece from a friend's kitchen. A lot of times I try to teach my 3 little daughters how to fix things, it help then to not just trow everything that breaks and be creative and learn how things work and how can be fixable, believe me, they enjoy a lot. Thank you

Thank you, William! I recently bought a used PC Compressor - different model. Your video helped me discover the reason he sold it so cheap: the regulator was on backwards. I reworked it like you showed in your video and now I have a good-as-new compressor.

I picked up same compressor for $50 and with about $6 in parts got it to work exactly as you have shown. You the man!

Thanks Phil, I use youtube a lot to find solutions for my problems at home and work, once I find a lot of videos to fix it myself i thought why not make one of the one that I did not see yet once I have a decent and simple solution. I glad that was helpful and I encourage you to do the same if one day you have a solution for something.

Try to do the same with things I do around the house or work. Figure if I can help out one sole that just isn't mechanically inclined. Look forward to more of your stuff

Thanks for the video. I got a few parts and fixed mine after watching. The stupid regulator that comes with it is junk. Your solution is perfect.

Great solution. I have the identical compressor and ran into the same problem. The knob on mine had stripped and the plastic plunger had cracked. I substituted a bolt for the broken plunger, which resolved the leak issue. The knob as you probably know is obsolete - offerings on ebay are cylindrical and not cone shaped as the Type 3. My solution was to shorten the regulator spring, which allowed use of the unstripped threads further back in the knob. Another cringe worthy fix was to coat the inside of the knob with super glue gel. I reinstalled the knob and let dry. Afterwards I backed the knob out with channel locks, which effectively cut new threads.

You welcome Jed, this compressor is very good overall, but they did upgrade something from the older models to make the tool don't last much. That's how company grow, making products that don't last forever.

Jed Mook I'm curious why someone would buy 4 of these junk-piles after going through this issue the first time? I will never buy anything from Porter Cable again.

  • @wguapo2
    @wguapo2  8 років тому

Curtis, that never happen to me, but if had, I will just try to open the box where you have the red lever that turn the compressor on to fill automatic and take a look to see if you find some damage or lose parts. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
    Thank you

My compressor looks the same but it does not have the plastic piece in the pressure regulator. Something is leaking and it is very annoying.

wow.. why would you do this? you can just flip around the broken tab to the other side of the mechanism and fix it in 4 seconds - and if that doesn't work - just order a new tab for $3.

my PC 6 gal compressor will not run. It's like there's no electricity, nothing. Tried other elec outlets, nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere in this thing? What else could it be? I appreciate your help

    • @shantanutank

There is a fuse on the motor. Its like an Automotive fuse. Look at the coils, on one of the sides you will see under the dirt a plastic fuse. replace it with a 20amp fuse and it will start.

Does any one have an idea why a pancake porter cable c2002 compressor would just quit? No power. Was working perfectly and the other day no power. I already replaced on/ off switch. Also replaced air compressor regulator switch, still no power. Any ideas my friends???
