Copper ground wire might have just been for additional strain relief. I have one of those compressors and the wire twists and becomes bare easily at the factory strain relief, so additional strain relief is a good idea. Kudos to the prior owner.
I have the same compressor that I bought years ago. The gauge on the left shows the pressure inside the tank. The one on the right can be set at any pressure using the black knob. I usually set it at 70 or 80 as indicated by my brad nailer. Thanks for the nice video !
Good go! Severe fines at our county collection site for taking anything. They seemingly don't grasp the real concept of recycle. I've managed to sneak a few things before the people actually unload.
That was NOT a ground wire . It was a support wire so the abraded shielding on the outside of the cord would not continue to wear through the individual wires. I had to take a hack saw to mine to get into the case . I think that is a standard issue with these compressors. Childproofing I guess LOL
Hi there. thanks for the video .. I want to know what kind of screwdrivers you use to open the compressor. I have the same generator. and somewhere inside you lose air. thanks for your help..
Off the top of my head I can’t remember the screwdriver I had to use ( possibly multiple - Phillips , flat ….,all basic tools) but I will check the next time I can. I had an air compressor already so I gifted that one to someone
Yep, I was going to say the same thing. That's not a ground at all, and it was never meant to be a ground wire connection. Good save, though, from the dump.

Maybe the copper wire was just used to hold the cable in place, not as a ground wire.

It was probably a Support for the chewed up wire not a ground
haha seen that before the wire was to keep the cord from being yanked usually screwed into the metal
I was going to say the same thing.... kinda like a strain relief.
