Coach, I spent decades as a owner of two repair shops, the Camry has long been a smart car to own. I had all kinds of trucks and cars in different brands. My Mercedes SL cost about three times as much as a Camry, of course it handled well at higher speeds and was fast, limited at 155 MPH. How often in daily driving does one use high speed handling or top speed very seldom if at all and usually for less than a minute, so all the high horsepower talk is just that by some guys, similar to off road commercials a capability seldom used other than for work. My wife drives a Toyota with all the safety features which as we get older are important. The new Camry dash and headlights I really liked. Thanks for the video.
🙂
Great review, already sold 7, many more on the way. A lot of great feedback from customers comparing this to the Accord and Sonata. We have a winner.
Thanks for the comment. Keep up the good work!
You’re awesome!
Nice review Lauren! I'm curious as to why you didn't mention the LE FWD
We only had a few vehicles to review - we will get one to review soon
I bought the LE last week wanting the 16 inch wheels. Love it. It handles really well and not overly floaty. The ride is really quiet and the hybrid engine is pretty much seamless and has more than enough power. I did try the Honda Accord Sport several months ago. The Camry in my experience is a much better ride for less money. Very happy with this car.
what was the otd price you bought for?
Nice car 👍🏻. The 19” wheels look good but I like at least a 50 aspect ratio
This is a substantial rework of the current chassis with more features, technology and solid hybrid powertrain. This a very good but boring and reliable sedan, that's evolved into a more mature, refined and more interesting automobile. I wish that they would have made an xse version with a tubo 3.4 litre V6 and awd, that would have been great and redefine the image of the Camry. Thank you Lauren.
First comment, thanks for the review Lauren! Looks like a great commuter car.
there will be a lot on rental lots thats for sure
@@alexanderkennedy2969 it's a bit too expensive and premium now to be on rental lots, that's more Nissan Altima and Hyundai Sonata territory
Add 10k$ dealers thug markups and u good to go
Is XSE the top trim, not Limited or Platinum?
It looks like you were testing this at elevation? We live in the mountains at 5500 ft and as you know a non turbo NA car really loses power when in the mountains and can be downright annoying especially when driving with passengers. Do hybrids suffer this same problem at elevation? Did this camry feel really sluggish trying to climb? I know turbos are best at compensating for higher elevation but your thoughts please. Thanks
I got a 21 xse red with black roof with 2.5 motor all good with it no big problem I also got th 19inch gloss wheels I keeping it for now intell I see how this hybrid does
Do it come with remote start
I wonder if you could swap the V6 from the TX 550h+ into this. 10-15 grand extra for 400 hp instead of 200 and a smooth V6 doesn't seem so bad.
yeah idk what shes talking about calling it "more powerful"
@@alexanderkennedy2969 It has about 30 hp more than the predecessor. If you drive them back to back you'll probably notice it but otherwise not.
Correct me if I'm wrong, you stated they insulated the door windows which makes it quieter. I believe just the xle and xse have insulated door windows. The se and le just has the insulated front windshield which the xle and xse also have. So the x's should be a little quieter.
Looks like California background 😉

Why it’s only 720p quality channel?
check your settings - posted in 4k
LE or XLE for me.
Me too.
You used to have 300 hp. If they do a Hybrid Max version of this it will be a good replacement for that performance-wise, but will they? The Highlander doesn't have that. Why should a lowly Camry get that?
Grand Highlander has 362 hp 😊
Looked like al was being kidnapped and driven to Mexico lol
Looking forward to the report on China's new electric car, the $11,000 BYD Seagull
Hope they make a TRD version with a turbo 4 and a more powerful rear electric motor/larger hybrid battery. A 4 second 0-60mph Camry TRD would be 🔥
Not likely. They didn't even add horsepower to the previous TRD. 😖
It still not going to be faster than a Prius 😂😂😂
There’s one report of testing in Michigan with the turbo hybrid, 0-60 in 5 seconds. If true, they’ll have a winner.
@@kellyaustin7487they didn’t need to, it was a 3.5 V6!
If you are looking for maximum value without hybrid drive, the Subaru Legacy is being discontinued and you may want to check it out before they go extinct (especially if you like 4 wheel drive)
The Ecvt in this Camry is going to be a lot more reliable long-term than the belt driven CVT in the Subaru.
Grandparents everywhere are dropping their canes to get into one of these turtles 😂
Don’t forget taxi drivers 😂😂😂
😂
yes because they have great taste
@@tinhinnh no they don’t 😂😂😏
Looks like they took the grill off of a big ugly box fan...
With a hybrid max engine (or V6) - sure. But not this.
Co-driver habla pues
GEEZ I’m paying $30K to $36K for a 4 cylinder engine? WOW that’s ridiculous, 4 cylinder engines are simply not meant to last and for those financing the price over 84 months the car will be dead before it’s paid off. I had a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix V6 for 12 years and ran up 340,000 miles, I now have a 10 year old Nissan Maxima V6 with 210,000 miles. That’ll never happen with that Camry hybrid or not. I’m looking at a 2 year old Camry TRD V6, an Infiniti Q60 Red Sport and a few others, might as well get a V6 engine car while I still can.
A new subscriber, Thanks Lauren!
Those LED headlights, I'm out. I'm not against LED, just the design and shape. There is no mass illuminated area on the front, making it more difficult to see.
Why the mixed Black and Silver emblems, keep it all one color.
CVT...ugghhh. I'll put my money on a future revision down of the expected MPG.
I could do without all the tech. With so many companies using or selling our personal data, I don't trust any of them to be good stewards of MY info.
At least it's Toyota, I trust they have this all figured out, seems like a solid car otherwise.
Hybrid is a deal breaker for me.
Yup. The eCVT is horrendous.
as opposed to regular cvt.. that slips
@@Bigbandbass every Toyota hybrid i've ridden in was the most disgusting automotive experience I've ever had.
i agree 100 percent. id buy one if it had a has only 4 cylinder or V6...but i dont want to be forced into a hybrid, hard pass
@@imnotusingmyrealname4566idc about the cvt, cvts are better and keep the engine in its power band
You are a liar is not more powerful than a 301 horsepower 6 cylinder Camry these only have 225 horsepower
Where was the critical reviewing? Not even a demerit for the cheesy gloss-black plastic.
its not "more powerful " at all.
I know right. Imagine giving this car better suspension and better brakes with a slower motor 😖
It's more powerful than the outgoing 4-cylinder
Nobody wants the 19 wheels.
roads are technically socialism

@@stephenc893 Thank you.
Definitely NOT the all new Toyota Camry..
Same chassis,.. same interior and exterior measurements,.. same side profile,.. Is this another cost cutting measure from Toyota?
