Who couldn't love that relationship between Derek and those boys? As busy as he is, the guy makes sure there's always time for them. If you're going to leave a mark on the world that's the best way to do it that I know.

@@civilcivilian just because a person aligns themselves with one person or one cause does not make them inherently "bad" or "wrong". This is what politicians (on both sides) are trying their hardest to make us believe. The reality is that most people have a wide range of beliefs that don't fit into a narrow definition of red or blue. I myself detest Alex Jones but there was a time I also strongly believed in Elon Musk and Joe Rogan, both of who I now think are symbols of philosophy I don't share. All this to say, don't write someone off just because of a singular belief. That's how this country falls apart. At the core, we are all Americans (or in the larger context, people) and that should come ahead of anything else.
We all American... and here in this country we have freedoms... Derek has the right to believe what he wants. Life,Liberty,And The Pursuit of Happiness! I get along with folks from all over. I absolutely loved the kids putting on the juice. So gentle and precise. The one boy doing the hood was clearly in love with the truck. Amazing letting them do that.
With all the insane crazy things going on in the country now, its such a relief to get away to a happy place with you Derick!! For that hour or two I can go back to a happy time in my life, wrenching on these awesome cars and enjoying myself. 😊 I've been working on cars since I was 13 years old and had a repair garage in the 80s and 90s. Technology is great but my heart will always be with these older cars! I try not to miss a episode, its therapeutic for me. Thank you Derek!
I've had my grandfather's 77 Chevy for several years. It hasn't run on gas for over 20 years, but every truck he had could run on propane with a flip of a switch, so i have started it up every couple months. It hasn't had plates or been drivable for at least ten years, but watching you do your thing has inspired me. I've been working like crazy (and spending like crazy lol). It'll be on the road this year. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Just met a guy and family at the New England 900 and everyone was really nice and easy to talk to. If he comes through town you should definitely go and say hi!
His advice actually saved me a wreck when I was cruising my 57 Pontiac out with my dad. I had just watched his boat tail Riviera episode and he was talking through the process of keeping the speed down with bad brakes. Well a couple days later we were putting some miles down after a show and when it came time to turn home I lost my brakes on the exit ramp. Z E R O pedal. Right away some of Derek's pointers popped into mind so I put it in low range, which helped eat up a lot of speed, and I started planning an escape route just in case. Luckily I was able to shut her down with the parking brake and made it hope without much trouble after.
So glad I found this channel back during the pandemic, it's a wealth of knowledge and laughs!

A guy was wonderin when a feller installed that sniper. Saw it at the race today. Got otta work early and drove 3 hours just to see ya. Wanted to get a shirt signed for ma dad but found out a fellers gettin pretty popular and the line to see ya was to the moon and back. Luckily i was able to get M'lady a nice straw hat and Jessica was kind enough to sign a shirt for my mom (shes moms favorite). Had to leave before the race started because i had a 7 hour drive up to Maine but im gunna go ahead and be optimistic and say congratulations on the 1st place finish and not blowin up the rig. The next time a feller is in Connecticut you can bet a guys gunna be buyin tickets again. Ill get there even earlier cuz i promised my dad an autograph and who knows, maybe ill even be able to stay for the race.
Seriously the BEST channel on Yoitube. My wife knows not to plan anything on Friday nights. Ill be in front of the tv with some cold snacks watching.

gotta use cutting oil with those bits because of the properties of metal the thing your drilling will actually get harder as it heats which breaks the bit or something like that. I'm not a chemist but I do remember being told to use cutting oil. Probably the only useful contribution i could ever make. I love this show.

If you put exhaust on that you’ll have a buzzin’ half dozen. And there is nothing like the sound of a Chevy split six. I wish badly I could have gotten my hands in there to help you install the manifolds when you first started the install. Loved the video, you never cease to provide inspiration and entertainment.

So my son bent the rear axle on his little car last week and I said I’d give him a hand to replace it rather than taking it to the garage to be done. I found the replacement, got the tools, jack and axle stands. Told him to be there at 08:30 to do the job. Well I had it done in 2 1/2 hours in which time he turned up 5 mins before I finished. Still at least he hung around long enough to bleed the brakes with me!! So I’m Slightly jealous of the relationship you have with your kids Derek! 😂😂😂
