I've had my grandfather's 77 Chevy for several years. It hasn't run on gas for over 20 years, but every truck he had could run on propane with a flip of a switch, so i have started it up every couple months. It hasn't had plates or been drivable for at least ten years, but watching you do your thing has inspired me. I've been working like crazy (and spending like crazy lol). It'll be on the road this year. Thank you for all of your hard work!

With all the insane crazy things going on in the country now, its such a relief to get away to a happy place with you Derick!! For that hour or two I can go back to a happy time in my life, wrenching on these awesome cars and enjoying myself. 😊 I've been working on cars since I was 13 years old and had a repair garage in the 80s and 90s. Technology is great but my heart will always be with these older cars! I try not to miss a episode, its therapeutic for me. Thank you Derek!

The reality is that most people have a wide range of beliefs that don't fit into a narrow definition of red or blue. I myself detest Alex Jones but there was a time I also strongly believed in Elon Musk and Joe Rogan, both of who I now think are symbols of philosophy I don't share. All this to say, don't write someone off just because of a singular belief. That's how this country falls apart. Just met a guy and family at the New England 900 and everyone was really nice and easy to talk to. If he comes through town you should definitely go and say hi! His advice actually saved me a wreck when I was cruising my 57 Pontiac out with my dad. I had just watched his boat tail Riviera episode and he was talking through the process of keeping the speed down with bad brakes. Well a couple days later we were putting some miles down after a show and when it came time to turn home I lost my brakes on the exit ramp. Z E R O pedal. Right away some of Derek's pointers popped into mind so I put it in low range, which helped eat up a lot of speed, and I started planning an escape route just in case. Luckily I was able to shut her down with the parking brake and made it hope without much trouble after. So glad I found this channel back during the pandemic, it's a wealth of knowledge and laughs!
I love how you brought back the workshop atmosphere to the fair. You must really love the DIY since you kept a small tool reference with this episode. I appreciate your approach to project cars.

So my son bent the rear axle on his little car last week and I said I’d give him a hand to replace it rather than taking it to the garage to be done. I found the replacement, got the tools, jack and axle stands. Told him to be there at 08:30 to do the job. Well I had it done in 2 1/2 hours in which time he turned up 5 mins before I finished. Still at least he hung around long enough to bleed the brakes with me!! So I’m Slightly jealous of the relationship you have with your kids Derek! 😂😂😂

After watching the RNC I said this feels like a VGG video because you're living the American dream and bringing people together and teaching our children the right way to be a dad, friend, husband and a man.
