Very cool tones, its nice to try out some different settings so we can see how the ap reacts. Very cool strat. May i suggest that you provide the signal chain in the description of the video?
Will do! I’m out of town for work working night shift right now. Once I get off, I can do that 🤙🏻 also thank you so much!
I have one of those inside my quad cortex. It actually sounds better than the physical amp. Crazy!!
Well it’s also how I have it mic’d up. Right on the cone with an sm57 is pretty harsh. The floor unit is an IR of a different cab with different mics. Just something to keep In mind.
Comment down below ⬇️ some amps you would like to see me demo in the future or content ideas you guys would like to see
I fuckin love that guitar bro. I need one of those.
So the red channel has that upper fizzy sizzle range very similar to the Soldano SLO. I think it works for certain things but can be a little annoying for other stuff. A little too sizzly. I’ve built several SLos and I figured out a way to mod it to tame that sizzle a bit.
I was just playing my SLO clone and my fender strat today. I got some very similar tones like your getting with the 5150. Definitely interesting.
Nice video. Keep em coming.
Thanks dude! I fell like I moved my mic around because it had a lot of sizzle honestly my favorite mic’d up sound is with the akg 414 and sm57 blend. The red channel definitely sounds better in the room with lower gain
The only thing I don't like about the 5150 III's is that the mid-section in them sounds like you activated a wah pedal and kept it halfway cocked. It's very honky and nasally. I always have to surgically EQ it out.
Usually I scoop the mids heavy on these but I also was using the peppers dirty tree which adds a lot of mids. Sounds really good for cutting through a dense mix
I would like to see you demo a dumble amp. I will not subscribe until you demo a dumble amp.
