@@BrittanytheBibliophile I've got all four published Bromance Book Club books (there's a fifth one that will be out this fall). The first book's okay but has a pretty bad 3rd act breakup for a ridiculous reason, the second is solid and a definite improvement, the third is a bit melodramatic, and the fourth is my personal favorite because it focuses on the guy that was the comic relief character in the last three books. Overall I recommend it.
Thank you for this! I live in Japan so I haven't been to a B&N in FIVE YEARS but this video made me feel like I was there. Visiting the US later this month though and I'm so excited!
I love the laid back vibes and the commentary between you and your sweetie! Adorable, cutest book store vlog I’ve seen. It wasn’t too long but, not too short. Really showed lots of good book reccs. Great content! New subby! Thank you!
Kind of random knowledge from a flower lover but poppies are pretty uncommon to find because they don’t last long in the vase. They’re definitely more for growing and looking at than for cutting and arranging! I think it’s a birth flower though so if you want merch with poppies maybe go for birth flower things!
Your video are so awesome. I am really happy to see you back again with booktube. And everything that happened last few months wasn't always great. Happy to see you heeling. So welcome back britt. We always with you.❤
This does uploaded on Thursday, great job!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥰 I love the blogs about visiting libraries tbh, it makes me happy :3 thank you for this beautiful video ✨
If you like Dracula, you should try reading Go Hunt Me by Kelly DeVos. The synopsis is: And the castle that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The stage is set, the tiles are doled out, and the eerie castle has been booked. Alex Rush has all the makings for an epic film, but something or someone else unexpected may be lurking in the shadows.
uhm yes. I just added this to my tbr. I love vampire books. I read the historian by Elizabeth kostova (??) when I was in high school a few years back and I love the dark and gloomy vampire vibes. the books could've been better but still, I enjoyed it
When I saw from Barnes and Noble's email about the new covers of the witcher (them now being illustrated). I was miffed because I have the ugly covers too. The new covers are amazing.
I highly recommend the books you were saying you don't know what they are - it's the Deal/Off campus series by Elle Kennedy! Honestly one of the only tiktok books I have actually liked and it's a college hockey romance!
I've been in a bit of a reading slump. I so so so want to get back into it. I'm so excited to watch this vid. I'm on a VERY strict book buying ban so Ill have to get a library card
I'm currently reading The Wolf Den! It's definitely not a BookTok pick, but it was a Barnes and Noble monthly pick a few months ago so that's probably why it is on there. It's not a romance, but it deals with a brothel and a lot of sisterhood. I would say it is a historical fiction. There's not really any romance, but with the small bits of "love" in it its more denial, survival of the fittest, and sisterhood-ish love versus a romantic type.
I think I would’ve liked it in either form but I think I prefer the historical fiction aspect of it, so thank you for letting me know! I’m excited to get to it
I wish I lived in England for a while, just so I could buy books in store. I'm Germany, even if you find a store with a big variety of English books, the books are so much more expensive than on Amazon due to buchbindungspreis and I hate it sm
Sometimes with new releases, especially manga, B&N tend to release books at least a week early. Keep an eye out next time they're something new you want. 😊
Yes! Though I did hear from an author on TikTok that if you buy a new release before it’s actually released it doesn’t count towards the first week of sales which is the sales that they use for the New York Times best sellers, which for some thing like a re-released cover I don’t think should matter too much but now it’ll definitely make me hesitate (even though it’s super cool to find something early 😭)
Poetry recs: 1. I really love "Honeybee" by Trista Mateer (it's definitely more modern, but it's so great) 2. "Don't Call Us Dead" by Danez Smith. this is a MASTERPIECE that discusses all the ways America kills POC, specifically black people. 3. Mary Oliver. She's just a classic.
I love poetry. I wish I read more but it is a bit expensive sometimes. It also sometimes hard to get a feel for what you do like. I try to read a blend of modern and old poetry but I usually end up reading more old because I am more likely to get a deal. That being said, one of my favourite collections is Love Poems and Death Threats by Samual Wagan Watson. On the back, it says 'Anyone who writes a death threat utilises the same passion that can compose a love poem...in the same breath we all have the capacity to smite whilst we are smitten.' The author is aboriginal, and throughout this collection, he does explain some poems, such as when he refers to certain landmarks or aspects of aboriginal culture. It is modern poetry but to me it stands apart from the more mainstream kind you see a lot. Another collection I am recommending, partly because a while back you wanted whimsical reads, and I would describe this collection as whimsical and charming, even though the poetry is simplistic in some ways (not a criticism, just trying to describe it). It is called Tea With Death and it is by Abigail Wildes. This invites you to attend a tea party including guests such as Death herself, the ghost of a blackbird, witches, tortured souls, and zombies. It is just a collection that made me smile.
I only filmed when people were in other areas haha but since the Barnes and nobles where I live are pretty small and not centralized they tend to be more quiet!
The Witcher books, YES!!! I love them, currently re-reading them & adore the games (not the show lol.) Really would like to find some beautiful hardback deluxe editions of the series.....ahhhhhh joy XD
wait, holy shit, barnes and nobles sells d&d books. damn, that's insane. most of the bookstores near me in australia are tiny, maybe the size of one of the sections in there. god damn.
Your Barnes and noble is so big and such a vast variety of books ur so Lucky if mine was like that I wouldn’t have enough spaces for books I would constantly keep going over and over again I would be bankrupt if only
I can not say enough good things about Ruby Dixon and her books. The spice is amazing and her writing is so fun to read. She is an absolutely lovely person that loves to interact with fans on her FB. But my absolutely favorite thing is that all her alien books are connected in the same universe. It’s so fun to be ready something and then a piece of information pops out randomly that connected to something else.
It’s an addictive thing to collect, for sure! I know of people that make them on Etsy if you wanted specifics! Just search whatever series plus mug and there’s tons of options ☺️
when buying books you should think of it as how rewarding it is to you because you done such a good job from your work lol and honestly, i get socially awkward too when I have to film in public. I don't mind filming in public but talking in public? hell naw lol I don't know how people can just talk in public with a camera 😅As for being an actress, you should totally do it! My friend wants to be an actress so she's taking acting lessons. The important thing is that you believe in yourself that you can be one. There shouldn't be no reason for you not to be an actress. Go for it! You'll thank yourself later. And that oval thing reminds me of the planchette from the Ouija board
Once I’ve read more, I would be definitely down to do a recommendation video! In the meantime I haven’t read very many I just love poetry in general. The ones I have read definitely fall into modern poetry as the category and though I’ve liked them none have knocked me off my feet, ya know? But I’ve been writing down some of the recs people are commenting in this video to try out
@@BrittanytheBibliophile I can definitely understand that. There's differently genres I enjoyed reading but it didn't grab my heart. When you do, I'm looking forward to seeing that video. 💜
B&N is really making an effort to compete on the brick-and-mortar level in the last several years, cause I think they've accepted that they can only supplement Amazon sales lmao. But I think reading IS trending upwards throughout the pandemic, so that's hopeful. As for poetry, highly recommend poetry by Louise Gluck (in particular Averno and Wild Iris). She's a Nobel winner in poetry recently. Also highly recommend the queen herself, Anne Carson (Autobiography of Red and Beauty of the Husband are SUBLIME), and my more underrated fave, Amy Lowell.
it bothers me so much when Barnes and Noble puts books out to purchase before their release dates.. If I am not mistaken when they do that the author does not any royalties for the purchase... only starting on the release date😕

Just so you know, New Witcher game just entered devolopment because CDPR was fully focused on Cyberpunk…it will probably be a 2026 game or so nice video enjoyed it! :)
I love how Adam was trying to put the Bromance Book Club back on the shelf when Brittany was like “no you should read it”
I tried to convince him but he wasn’t having it smh I’ll wear him down eventually
(I’ve been begging him to read romance books with me because I think it would be funny to see his reactions but he’s still not sold on the idea)
@@BrittanytheBibliophile boo! :( he should try a romance book once at least!
