AJ. I followed your directions exactly. I took 5 Pluerry cuttings and grafted them onto a Peach Tree. 5 weeks later, and they all took! All 5 are alive and growing. Thanks to you Graft Man! You rock…Cheers!
Forget about giving you just 1 thumb up. You’ve got all ten fingers. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I’ve seen others cover the scions with plastic bags to retain moisture, but wrapping the scion completely with grafting tape is brilliant. I was about to go outside to do a few grafts and I thought of checking a few more channels to get different ideas. Came across your channel by accident. So glad I did. Now I am really going outside to graft a few stone fruit trees. I’m in Australia, if you’re thinking I’m crazy to be grafting in the middle of summer. Lol.
I just started a similar project on my nectarine tree. Wish I had thought of this years ago. My tree is 11 years old and I've grown it from seed. I've added some peach stems from a neighbor's tree, and added Spice Zee Nectaplum which I got online. More cuttings are in the mail. It is a great way to increase fruit diversity, spread out harvest time (what would we even do with a ton of nectarines ripening at once other than share and preserve), and safe space (the yard is only so big, so it is like an orchard on one tree).
Always good video and well narrative. Also thanks for the link for the grafting tape ordered some scheduled to get it 27th of this month. Keep those videos coming.
Very nice and just what I was looking for. I’m in zone 7b and my Santa Rosa plum always loose it’s blooms to a late frost. Last year a friend from work gave me a peace tree sapling. It’s not coming out of dormancy as soon as the plum. I’m hoping by grafting the plum onto the peach it will bloom a little later and I can get some plums ( and peaches too ).
Brilliant. It’s start of spring where I am and 5 weeks ago I grafted some European plum onto my plum tree and nectarine tree. Looks like they are healing (I can see the juice and sappy stuff under the tape.)
What variety of apricot and plum? What type of winter dormant oil spray does your cousin use? Does he spray at “red bud” stage? Do all varieties produce “red buds” at the same time? If some red buds have set fruit while other varieties are still in red-bud stage, how is he able to spray the red buds while not spraying the fruit that has set on the other (or others) varieties? Love the video, AJ !
First time grafter here I recently grafted a plum scion onto a nectarine. It seems to have taken but the plum scion is blooming should I pinch those off to encourage leafing out ?
Wow!! Thank you for sharing.. How long is going to take to give you fruits?? I am moving to south California. Do you know which city is good to grow bananas and avocados?? I am searching for a property to grow my fruits and greens etc.. ?? Thank you
Thanks! Should take a year or two. Pretty much most of southern California you Can grow bananas and avocados. Everywhere except the desert and very High elevations
cool video i have watched many of your avocado vids and every one of them gives so much great information . hey aj do you ever help other local newbies? I need help
The excitement and joy when a graft takes😊
I agree with u buddy.. i graft like a crazy man and i enjoy it alot..

Thanks! You made my day :)
Good luck with the grafts 👍🏽🙂🌲🌱
Exciting and cant wait till I see how this tree grows in the long run ..will definitely do some grafting next year before the tree break flush.
The cleft graft is nearly fool proof I use it on my fig trees 8 onto one tree and peach 🍑 tree are fun to play with like you here thankyou ⚔️🔥⚔️
One day I will experiment with my trees... thanks for the info!!
today ! is your one day
So cool that we don’t need heaps of trees to have apricots, 🍒, 🍑, nectarines, plums etc. Just one tree is all that’s needed.

Always good video and well narrative.

Thank you! Cheers!
Man, amazing. Please keep us updated with how the fruit turn out.
Thanks. Will do.
Awesome 👏 wish I knew someone with that many fruit trees to get scions from lol. I will have to buy them as usual.
Wow, I have never successfully grafted a peach. I'll try your pointers if you don't mind. You are an inspiration.
Thank you for the beautiful comment. Good luck with your grafts!
Good job bro
Excellent!

Superb brother. We’re going into winter very soon so most fruits will go dormant - perfect time for scion collection👍
Yes indeed brother. Happy grafting
Excellent video. Thanks. I love lead farmer. He teaches this method. I'm confident to try now. I want a pluout but different have enough
Thanks. It becomes addictive once you get the technique down

Glad to hear that 🪴🙂
now i need a stone fruit tree to try and do this with
That's refreshing to know!!
Thank you very much!
I haven’t done any grafting but I’d like to see how much fruit that tree ends up producing.

Blenheim apricots and Beauty plum. No spray on these trees ever. Thanks!
Graduations On the successful grafting
I just grafted a plum tree with apricots, see what happens
Got a nectorine tree grafted with apricots, doing great, not fruits yet.
the strong branches are going to throw off the weak ones
can this work with olive ? trying to make a troical variety grown on some tropical stonefruit
As far as I know, olive cannot be grafted to stone fruit trees (peach, plum, etc)

I would leave it as is and Let nature take its course. However, if the bloom makes fruit, I would remove the fruit
Hi, please do one for citrus too.
I insist.
I did one a few years ago:

Do the grated pieces eventually meld into one another over the course of years? I've found this so fascinating.
Yes they do
I'm in west palm beach fl, 10b where do I get sicon to graft on my peach 🍑 tree.
The thinner scaffolds will be weaned off in time by the 3 dominant thicker scaffolds sadly

@@AJTheGraftMan hi good morning , yes I will attempt for the first time an email wish me luck lol.
What time of year did you do the grafting?
February
Is there a danger of infecting the mother tree with all these grafts
Not if you use clean tools
Did you grow your avocados by seed ?
Some I grew from seed. Others I bought from nurseries
Please provide your grafting tape link of amazon
search for parafilm grafting tape on amazon
What is the smallest size branch you can graft ?
Smallest is A branch with the thickness of a pencil
@@AJTheGraftMan if you were to do one smaller than that would it still take ?
@@emanueldelgado540 it can work yes, but your technique has to be precise and likely the graft will take a longer time to grow
You are growing a peach tree one foot from a wall.
Your point being?
@@AJTheGraftMan 5 years, it breaks up the wall. Then it has to be cut down.
@@donaldkasper8346 doubt it. I have 20 year old trees planted 1 foot from walls with no damage
@@AJTheGraftMan I don't.
