Pity this version of Lifetime did not perform more and record, they're fantastic and a nice 'unplugged' contrast to the other fusion stuff of the time. Particularly Clarke's bass here, some of the coolest licks I have ever heard.
Also those others that like metal as well, you should look up one of his last albums he made before he passed, it’s with Buckethead…Thats right, Buckethead!!! 🤘🏻Arcana is the band, Arc of the Testimony is the name of the album. He recorded it with Buckethead and Bill Laswell in 1997. Some double bass Tony Williams!! There’s also an album before that with a different guitarist.
The last part; is it just a section of the performance or are they playing a song with a name? It's absolutely breathtaking... I myself am not a jazz fan, I'm into extreme metal. This makes me want to explore some jazz! Is this technically jazz fusion or spiritual jazz or something else? Appreciate any responses
maybe don't get hung up on categories. cool that you like it. that's all that matters. you might like Pharoah Sanders "Black Unity"...Stanley plays on it also
@@matthewbziskOh yeah, I agree. I just find it's easier to find similar music when there's a genre to refer to and search up discussions/lists/what have you about it. Since my post, I have really gotten into Pharoah Sanders' Africa. Will check that album out too now, thanks!

The next band up is very obvious as evidenced by the wall of amps and Fibes kit in the background.
