    I LOVE PUNK ROCK AND MEN'S VOLLEYBALL!

      Women's is much better--men's is serve, dig, set, kill every time, largely because all the players are about 6'8" and hit about a foot above the net. Men's would be better if they raised the net maybe 4" (6" would be even better).

    Best thing Ian ever did in his career was disbanding Minor Threat and founding Fugazi.

      +Gabriel Ferreira Agreed man. It was completely necessary, Minor Threat was great, but there's a shit ton of contemporary bands that sound exactly like that. Fugazi had it's own style and took punk to another level.

    I'm guessing someone dubbed the Fugazi show over a taped volleyball game? Didn't come with any source or gen info, so I'm not too sure.

      Nicholas Budiman If you're meaning that scratching sound, you slide your pick down the low E string

      +Gustav Danielsbacka thanks but, how'd Guy make the feedbacky scratchy dissonant noise? Did he do it like Ian did or what?

    • @AllWordsAreDust
      @AllWordsAreDust 7 років тому +2

      I remember reading an interview with him describing how, can't remember exactly but I believe it was particular to the (rickenbacker) guitar he was using.

      the Ric is constructed with a tailpiece that's farther away from the bridge than, say, Ian's. The extra strength length has intonation. Sonic Youth does this all the time with Jazzmasters, which has even more string length (off the top of my head, think the beginning of 1987's "Stereo Sanctity.") Guy's playing behind his bridge through a high gain amplifier, distorting the high tones of the strings before the tailpiece.
      He's also fretting something, I think, which modifies the tone of the strings

    At least the drummer is not too bad.....
