To think that this would've been put together on two 1200's and a basic 2 channel mixer. No sequencing, synchronising, or button pressing 'beat matching' options. Just pure talent.

If you want the apotheosis of this stuff, check out Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister's work in the 90's and early 00's. Both together and separately. A lot of the music Gilles played in '97 is iconic and sounds similar today. The slinky trip hop feels 100% 90's.
