Man the beginning gives me the feels big time. I still have this in mp3 on a old memorex cd. I don't even understand what happened to all these years and that is very scary sometimes. October 8th 2023 - I just came back to this comment 3 years later! I was just reading through some e-mails and thought that the hotmail account I use I have had since 1999! :) Someone hacked it a couple of weeks ago but I managed to get it back. 96/97 started going to dance clubs/raves. 99 I found out about Essential Mix. I think it wasn't until about 2001 I found this mix. Honestly not a Oakie fan. However this is without a doubt his best. That Amanda Ghost joint is a TUNE!
My older brother’s mate had the internet and use to record and burn cds of radio 1 mixes back in the day, and I remember listening to this as a 17 year old in 99. Blew my socks off! Paul made a lot of great Mixes over the years, but this one is my most favorite by far. Perfect for forgetting everything around you when while closing your eyes.

Can anyone else do Trance like Oakey after 20 years? HECK NO! Not even the Oakenfold of 2020. These were the days of UNDERGROUND TRANCE that made Paul Oakenfold, The King of Trance. If you like this set, look for Acid Goa Underground Trance, but Oakenfold has a unique touch that combines all these Trance flavors in a progressive and melodic way.
