- You know...maybe working on this story wasn't such a good idea because now, I'm even more aware of the escalator 😐

My brother had his shoe caught in the escalator. It looked like a bite was taked out of it. What's funny is that it was at Disney Land and some girl was streaming how someone "pulled the emergency stop" and that she has to walk up. And that's after walking around all day at a theme park. I have never let my brother live this down :)
I'm also afraid of escalators I'm a cosplayer and I always imagine my cape or dress getting caught and destroyed or me just tripping on it and falling continuously. Even when I'm NOT in cosplay.

Why would you be scared of an elevator? You are stuck on a strong metal cage with no moving parts near you besides the door, you are way safer than on an escalator

As someone who works in a department store and on the third floor, i can proudly say that practice makes perfect and after 2 years i can get on it without looking OR holding onto the rail.. i know.. im awsome

I'm scared of escalators too, but I'm only scared of going down the escalator.
When I was younger, I was afraid of riding the escalator alone without holding someone's hand. One time my family went down without me and I was "stuck" at the top. Anyways, my dad ran up the elevator which went backwards and fell, getting an infection on his leg later.

I've been scared of escalators since this one time my dad told me about a girl he was representing (he's a personal injury lawyer) who was about five years old and had her shoelace untied and got it caught in an escalator, so she tripped and got one of her fingers stuck in in I guess? Anyways she had to get that finger completely amputated and another one cut off halfway.

We’re literally opposite lol. I’m way more terrified of elevators cause I always get super claustrophobic. I like escalators cause they’re nice and open, and if it stops you can still escape. Yet stepping on and off an escalator is so high stress and scary and I don’t know why. It’s like if you fall you’re gonna die.

Escalators are surprisingly dangerous. They should have miniature ferris wheels for the up escalators, and slides for the down escalators.

The only bad thing that happened to me was when a escalator I was on jolted to a stop, I don't want to imagine what would've happened if my mom or my baby brother hadn't been holding on to the rails, it wasn't a violent jerk or anything but it could've made you fall forwards if you weren't holding on to the rails.

when i was eight, i wore crocs. just as i was about to get off, my croc got stuck on that crack. i walked around the mall for another three hours with a huge hole in my croc.

I’m scared of normal stairs, when I was 7 they had a huge growing crack in the stairs and I’m talking wood here so they took a few weeks and fixed it. Fine right? NO. Instead I walk on that staircase AND I FREAKING FALL INTO IT. The owner had a “low budget” and left the stairs hollow with THE THINNEST WOOD POSSIBLE. And I now have a fear of stairs. Including escalators.
