Ridiculous School Rules #2: Storybooks My School Didn’t Allow
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 сер 2018
- I wonder if other people had this similar issue with books in their school? I'm aware that some private/Catholic schools have that but what about the other types of schools?
Btw, I actually have a fun BL related video that was made a month ago but because of my schedule of alternating between BL and storytime, I gotta put that on hold and share this storytime first. Just wait for that to be uploaded in two weeks time!

*Ban the Harry Potter series*
WELP TIME TO SWITCH SCHOOLS
RANDOMSYDS I would literally move, nice pfp btw, I ship drarry so hard
I never *EVER* read the Harry Potter series maybe cause every time my classmate takes the Harry Potter book if these some
RANDOMSYDS yep. I would straight up transfer. Although they did do a decent job with banning Twighlight.
RANDOMSYDS YASSSSSS I agree I’m so lucky it isn’t at my school
RANDOMSIDS I see that drarry. hell yea
Yeah I get the twilight saga but Harry Potter and Percy Jackson NO THANK YOU
If I couldn't read Percy Jackson I'd just leave. Like no thanks.
@@osiera yeah me too
@@osiera me too those are my favorite books!!!!!!
EXACTLY
i luv the hunger games but i understand (but my school allows it)
Why would they ban Harry Potter? But at least they didnt ban BL manga but they probably would have if they found out about it.
Kuudere Fujoshi They did van comics and since BL Manga And Manga in general are Japanese Comics then it technically would’ve been banned.
Kuudere Fujoshi According to them "Magic is the work of the devil 😂 And comics in general weren't allowed so this included BL manga. There was a time where my classmates and I almost got fanfictions banned but I don't know about the current rules in that school these days😐
@@JelliesWorld omfg I wouldn't be able to live without harry potter
Also explains why they banned Percy Jackson. That must’ve sucked, as it was the series that tiny me read to feel like I was ok despite being neurodivergent.
But isn't God just as "magical?.." Considering its said God CREATED Lucifer.
I *SWEAR* if harry potter was banned in my school there would be a war as big as world war one and two COMBINED.
Pink Rusher the battle of Hogwarts but 1839277489243819 x greater.
everything I read is harry potter I would die
I’m in advanced LA and no bullshit every student in my LA class has read the Harry Potter series
I believe it
I would have my mom bug the principal until he let harry potter back
Okay, I'm super-late to this, but when I heard they banned Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games AND HARRY POTTER (the three are my favorite series) I stood up, took ALL the books and hugged them.
Like, HOW COULD THEY DO SUCH AN AWFUL THING?!?!?
IKR!!!
Same. Those 3 are my life
Same I just cried at that
I would BURN that school down
Religious people consider supernatural things (magic) to be a sin. Some will take it too far, resulting in hp and pj being banned. The Hunger Games are violent.
School: *Bans the Harry Potter series and many popular books*
Kids: *Chaos*
School: It’s those damn phones again
Come oooon. They bAnNEd Percy Jackson?
Minoli Fernando IKR!!!!
Toasty Toby yEesSSSssSs
EXACTLY WHYYYYYYYYYYY ANYTHING BUT MY PERCABETH
let's face it, a contributing factor may or may not have been the overwhelming gay of Nico di Angelo (being funded by the church and all). I am not ignoring the fact that it is based around a *le gasp* PAGAN MYTHOS !!1!!1!
@@chloneko4920 XD don't forget Will Solace
Also, it may be the fact that the school thought the books were encouraging students to believe Greek mythology instead of God/jesus christ
My school had similar reading practices except for the book bans.
My school was literally the opposite.
We had the Twilight series...
*all of it*
Hehee Hahaa I am so sorry for your suffering my friend
RIP
I died when Aladdin came up😂😂😂 but correction Aladdin wasn’t a wizard he was a magi
No, he's a Magi-cian...
But seriously, it's implied that he's a magician when Mogamett gives his speech that the thing a magician wants the most is knowledge. So, he's both a Magi and a magician.
Aerodia Z that works too but he is labeled as a magi
Ah the memories!
I also went to a private christian school for a few years, They had the usual bans but they also had a few that were ridiculous in my opinion ;
1) Tamagotchi's ; Remember your little virtual buddy? Banned. "Psudeo-Demon worship"
2) Pokemon cards ; Banned. "Encourages gambling".
3) (In General Science class) ; The name "Charles Darwin". "He was an offspring of satan sent to mislead us from god's path!" Zero tolerance for the name being mentioned in science class, Would dish out detention and threaten suspension. He was a wacko...
Lol our teacher made sure that we remembered everything about Darwin and I do since he was so persistent about it.
Honestly no offense but that's why I dislike religion, I do believe in God but the church and most people who so called "serve" under god, are so full of themselves.
While faith and the old religious stories are something great, the people just have to ruin it with their own ( mostly ) egoistic perception of how something needs to be interpreted.
Like saying "God loves all his children" declaring in the next moment "Homosexuals will burn in hell".
Actually I'm also in the private christian school but they aren't banned at all even the harry potter series. That's why library is heaven for bookworms like me
*school bans Harry Potter books*
IM MOVING!!!!!!!
Good bye this world
Your channel is so underrated
Ikr same thing I thought xd
like there a lot of fughiosh in thr world
Wait, goosebumps? No! I love this series >< and Harry Potter... >< what evil teacher! I grow up reading HP, goosebumps and now I read Stephen King and a lot of other books.
And that was really clever ideas to read the books. And I love the DW references! I'm a whovian.
Surprisingly in the harry potter series all of them were gay.
It was too gay for the school
My school doesn’t allow manga but ya know students we don’t care about them school no more
(Ik some people do care ok)
I go to a catholic school and my school allows the Percy Jackson, Hunger Games and Harry Potter
Omg yesss
Same here :)
Ah yes the lucky one
In my school everyone would've simultaneously gone "what the fu-"
Most rules in my school stand for a maximum of a week... I plead guilty
When I used to go to primary school, we weren't allowed to read Harry potter because there were witches in it.
I wouldn’t be able to live if that happened because I think you can tell by my profile picture lol XD
WOTTTT PERCY JACKSON ! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
At least they didnt ban miss pergrines home for peculiar children series
Vanilla Sunset The first book came out 2 years ago, i'm pretty sure this story is older than that
@@danandbands5854 The first book was published in 2011.
@@boredpanda7792 huh, your right, I don't know what I was looking at, probably the third book or something, I only ever read the first one.
LOL I used the fake dust jacket one a lot.
having harry potter banned is far too common on religious schools, i used to go to a secular school and they were fine with it, but when i switched to a catholic school (eugh) they had it banned and it blew my mind, all bs reasons aside, students didn't care about the ban because they brought their own books anyway.
you got a really neat channel here, you definitely deserve more views and subs.
My friends and I were too scared to take the risk so we resorted to these "totally spies" stuff 😂😂 And thanks! Making these videos is a hobby for me and it's nice to see people enjoying them and sharing their own stories 😊
I went to a Christian school, and surprise surprise they didn’t ban Percy Jackson. Although it would be cool for them to have Harry Potter, so that the Potterheads at my school will have their dose of Hogwarts.
The Doctor Who references is so strong in this one
I was almost going to go to Catholic private school. I was going because my friend was going there but what I didn't know was that "Catholic" was a religion. I'm atheist so when my mom found out she was so surprised xD luckly my mom. Told me so I managed to skip that horrible decision. This video made me feel even more lucky
Where did you live that you didn’t know “Catholic” is a religion? I’m genuinely curious
“They banned the Harry Potter series”
Woah, I just got the chills..
Goosebumps WTF, that's my childhood 😫
I wouldn’t survive in you’re school, because I love Percy Jackson book series
13 would be so happy to read harry potter with people
Me: OMG this school sounds awesome!
*No Percy Jackson, no Harry Potter, and no Goosebumps*
Me: Nevermind!
1:59 *See’s hunger games* “AHHHHH! Why can’t you read those books!!!! RAHHHH!” *screams in frustration*
COME ON WHOS WITH ME SIGN THE PETITION!!!
*yes…they banned the Harry Potter series-*
Me: **spits out my water** WHAT-
In my wonderful private christian college Harry Potter and literally every book imaginable was banned entirely for as long as I could remember. I remember doing work experience at a different catholic school and their entire library actually had fantasy books. It was a REAL library. I was shocked for words when I saw books like Impossible Quest, Deltora's Quest and The Rondo trilogy. And this was an ELEMENTARY school. For LITTLE KIDS.
"they banned Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series" *grabs an axe* HOLD ON IMMA JUST GO DO SOMETHING-
I saw your videos on tumblr! They are interesting and funny!
I wasn't allowed to read Harry Potter, go trick or treating or watch Pokemon when I was a kid.
W t f
@@kokichiouma6634 Yup. Because the church we went to said it was b a d. That pokemon were demons or whatever. I only started going trick or treating when I was 13, same with reading Harry Potter and watching Pokemon.
@@StainedBrain that's sad.
@@kokichiouma6634 Yeah it was..
I was really lucky. My school let us read whatevers the hell we wanted. They didn't try to ban any books until my senior year. They tried to ban the Odyssey, Where the Red fern grows, The original Grim tales, Ect. People legit stopped coming to school. My mom didn't even try to get me to go. After a week the school caved cause only 1/4 of the student population was attending and the parents were on the war path. The principal got reassigned to another school and that was it.
"They banned the Harry Potter series"
MOM WHERE'D YA PUT MY TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS?
The first trick to sneak in book about the dust cover was really clever
My school had something called “Friday night school” which is essentially what it sounds like. After school suspension. Joke’s on them, I was just reading manga at school for four hours instead of reading manga at home for four hours. Lol
I love your videos! I just found your channel and I love it!
“The TARDIS solution”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Omg! My school did the exact same! Everyday, we have books and a list that we have to complete it by the end of the month! And they banned so many! All we were allowed to read is that! I go to an all girls school, we have library periods and classes. Thank touuuu for the tips!
Wow!! I wouldn't survive in your school. Also your channel is amazing and you definitely deserve WAY more recognition. Keep being awesome👍👍
Our school had this! In our elementary we had to read books that were AR (accelerated reader) books and take tests on them. We’d get a grade depending on how well we did on the tests. Lucky for me all the Michigan and American chillers were in the program! It wasn’t as strict and the rules were different from class to class. But I don’t think we ever had books banned. Like in our high school people were reading fifty shades of grey. I did go to straight public school though. I miss reading that much honestly.
The dust jacket trick would not work on most books because the title is usually shown at the top of the page. So you would see the real title of the book through the dust jacket. But at my library they say they can't control what you read. As long as it's not a BL manga, your good 😁
Damn, that's rough. I went to a Christian school, but we were allowed to read fantasy and supernatural books. But when I started 6th grade, my teacher had a library of books for students to read. They were the typical pulp paper back Christian fiction that was hardly know, but what really shocked me was that she divided the books into boy and girl categories, giving the action packed books to guys and the slice of life to girls. Now I'm not usually a trouble maker but I rebelled against this rule hard. I did not believe that certain genres are for certain genders, so my page master self was raging. To make matters worse, she would force us to read these books during silent reading time, even if you brought your own book. I would always bring my own book( preferably supernatural)so she really tried to get me to pick a girl book. I would to only get her off my back but I would use the book as a cover for my actual book. She found out about this and tried to make me feel bad by saying I recieved her. But it was then that I told her what I thought about her "division". Surprisingly she took it well, she told me that she was only trying to encourage the class to read more but did not realize how the segregation was more harmful then good. She even told the class that they could bring their own books regardless of whether they were supernatural or not, which eventually led to the whole school getting into a horror book craze. I feel pretty proud that I left my mark on that place.
DUDE your videos are the funniest things I’ve come across in a very long time, you’re telling us a story, while all in cartoon form. I’m obsessed!!!
Also , your school had more rules than a prison!
I would get out of that school REAL FASTTT
I love your art style, its so cute.♥Your voice is also really addicting to listen to.
my school has a morning assembly every morning. and if you come early, you have more time to read. if you come right before the announcements begin, you don’t have to read too much or even at all sometimes. but if you are caught without a book by a teacher, as punishment you’ll have to stand up infront of the whole school and do nothing but feel the embarrassment as everyone, both junior and senior levels watch your punishment.
Your videos are hillarious.... I'm wheezing
I’m old and do not need these tips but your animation is so frickin cute! I’m throughly entertained 👏👏👏👏👏
Hi, i am from Brazil :D good video
Ayyy thanks! 😊
PERCY JACKSON?! ALLRIGHT I’M DONE!
*marches up to principal and rips soul out*
AHH YOU WRE READING A BOOK FROM THE ERAGON SERIES!! I love that series! I only got partway through the second one but I still love it!!
Oh that sucks... I could still read manga and pretty much any books... (pretty much any book you want as long as your parents are ok with it) I even read the court of thorns and roses series and no one cared
I love that the alchemist was one of the books you showed.
A Random Todoroki absolutely love that series
@@Brit294 Right, it is an amazing book series
In my school, if we don't have a book, we are given a straight c4 which is what we call detention. And when someone doesn't have a book we all like become this fricking superhero team where we all protect that person and exchange books all at once so the teacher doesn't notice. We gotta make an alliance in our prison
*”CRY NOW, POTTERHEADS”*
If Harry Potter was banned in my school, I would move to another!
OMG the doctor who jokes throughout the video made me cry so hard from laughter!!!
MOST OF THE BOOK THAT YOU NAMED I ABSOLUTELY LOVE
I went to a co-ed catholic primary school and we had the first 2-3 Harry Potter books in my classroom's bookcase and that's when the books were still coming out. We also had the Worst Witch books as well.
THAT BEGINNING DESTROYED ME 😂😭😭😭😭
Love your vids
your voice is so soothing wow
its so weird to know that your school is almost the same as mine (like the prefect and reading storybooks before assembly and stuff)
PJO - is a YA aimed at preteens and teens
HP - is a KIDS NOVEL!
Goosebumps - I used to read that as a kid AND ITS IN THE KIDS SECTION!!!!
I don’t care how violent or fantastical they are they don’t deserve to be banned
You are really awesome
My school banned all drinks except water so I bought a filter straw that every sip of water i took through the straw would turn it into juice and the teachers had no idea😂
Omg when there was *no hunger games*
I was crying!
I would have left that school as soon a possible like u gonna ban Harry Potter I'm leaving good bye
Something similar happened in my school lmao I remember when I had to fill a document about a book I had read and I remember when every week there was an hour where we were taken to the library to take a new book and fill the document about the last week's book, it was normal until I discovered our school was the only one doing that around lmao
I always do that dust jacket and one time a girls book fell out and now the jacket is banned
My school lowkey had the same thing, every beginning of the day we sat for like 10 minutes reading silently and I think every Wednesday we went to the Library just to read.
Every time I look at the bans, up until now, _no one did the hidden item in a large book thing_
I’m,literally reading Inheritance right now and it’s rlly good 😊 I’m a bit of a bookworm too
I went to a public school so cant relate and i read books a lot to as well. I read books from kindergarten throughout high school and we read whatever we wanted and some students even read sexual books but you could only get them from the public library if you had a book card and we used book covers when they were popular.
Ban Harry Potter? That school can fight me! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
The second they banned some of those series...I would have screamed. I'm not giving up The Hunger Games Series, The Percy Jackson Series, and The Harry Potter Series! @#_& THAT!!!
We had reading time for 20 mins
We also had a mini library
We also had a subject called library
We also recorded the books we and read
I can't live without Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. Those books are literally my life.
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and I don't think I would survive without my Griffyndor pride!
My mom who loves Harry Potter teaches at a strict conservative Catholic school where Harry Potter is a big no-no (although the students don’t give a shit as they’ve already read it) and she gets dirty looks from her colleagues whenever her laptop screensaver switches to “Don’t touch my laptop, muggle!”
1:30 ... wow I just realised that my school if crazy about reading. We do 5 mins reading at the start of every lesson (and 15 mins for English), we have Library lessons and crazy complicated reading levels
My primary school used to have reading time and library lessons (boy and girl school)but we didn’t have any punished if we don’t read enough books but it did when I went to secondary school(all girl school)
My school does the same, minus the punishment and the filtering.
OMG Aladin you are so cool
PS: The Harry Potter Scene I can't stop laughing 😂❤
the library subject actually sounds kinda fun...sorry, I love to read ^^
I'm from Thailand. And schools in my country are like this too. We have reading time a subject called library and we have to write in books of stories we read to get points. But the school doesn't ban any books you just can't read comic books (students would do it anyway). Your school seems so strict ;-;
Feel your pain because my school literally doesn’t even let us read Harry Potter we have to watch the dam movie is
My fifth grade class had a reading time; there was even a bookcase filled with classic storybooks.
If my school had this rule I would be allowed to bring my books because
The cover: so just cats living in the wild in clans? Sounds really childish.
The book: oh hey I'm starting to like yo- and your dead, that's a lot of blood, man that's a lot of blood
THE ALCHEMIST SERIES IS GREAT HOLY JEEZ
Ha! Your school still allowed to bring storybooks. Our school doesn't even allow to bring storybooks from home. They are banned! Yeah, our school has a library too but it doesn't have enough good books. Last time I brought Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to school and the prefects seized my book and I got it 2 months later. My book was hidden in the teacher's drawer along with two of my friends books under the class teacher's advice but the prefects dared to touch the drawer and took them away! I was so mad. These types of rules should not be there...my friends and I were harassed by this this type of behavior.
I find it funny that they banned all those books when in my fully Catholic middle school we read harry potter and the hunger games for class
Me : Wearing my slyverin hoodie crying into my slytherin pillow while sipping tea from my slytherin mug
I’m a HUFFLEPUFF!!! No!! Hide the books, smuggle them in. Agent this stuff, I hear spy theme songs.💛🖤💛💖
every book you named we had in my 3rd-5th grade library lol
If that happened to my school I can guarantee my schools librarian would sneak the Harry Potter books to students.
She loves them just as much as the students
