Man I’m having problems with my 02 Silverado having a rough idle/surge idle, it used to rev up by itself all the way to 2k to 2500 rpm’s but I changed the iac to a good one and i ported the f*** out of both iac ports and now it stays close to 1k and the annoying whistling sound of the throttle body is gone now,,,the rpm’s still bounce up and down at 1k rpms that sometimes the truck stalls on me at red lights,,going to give this seal a try to see if it helps
@@MRE_Motorsportsso i tried to take the linkage off like you did but I can’t get mine to pop off no matter how much strength I use, angle and even using screwdrivers. Maybe mine is slightly different? Idk cheapy 102mm throttle body
@@MRE_Motorsports gotcha I’m gonna try it again with the throttle body bolted to the intake on the engine hopefully this will give me more leverage and stability
Losing any boost is never good but it was pretty substantial. I can’t even guess how much it was but it wouldn’t even even get to 1-2psi before it started leaking!
I'm having the same issue on my eBay 80mm for my rb25. Unfortunately I don't have the depth to push in a seal. Might have to get it machined but machine work is stupidly costly
Just a fyi, if the set screw for the throttle arm backs out and the spring kicks it out, you throttle will stick open and can be a bad deal. I got lucky and it separated at part throttle and not wide open. I would definitely lock-tight that last screw that you tightened.
welp....i know what im doing to my G-PLUS TB when i get back home from working out of town lol. ive always heard air leaking from around that spring and just figured thats what you get with a $55 china TB. i just ordered a seal on ebay for 6.99.
Punisher did you ever remove the other spring? I come from JDM cars and don't love how the throttle feels so heavy at the pedal and don't feel like I have control over the throttle like I would with a lighter pedal
@@grahamphillips57 I removed one spring. I haven't used it in the vehicle yet but compared to my old stock 78mm tb and my fitech 90 TB now they all feel equal when actuating by hand.
@@punishergto5182 good to know. I'm going to try it today. I'm assuming both springs are equal pressure yeah? As in it doesn't matter which one you pull?
Pulled mine apart today (Ford flange 5.0 90mm tb) and has recessed area for seal, thanks
Awesome!! Glad this helps someone
Awesome info man. I splurged on the Holley on my first build but believe I'll be going this route next time
Forsure George!! Thanks for watching!
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing, I'll be ordering a seal now! Assuming the seal works on the 102 mm throttle bodies too?
Thanks sir!! I would almost guarantee it!! From what I’ve seen they share the same body.

Heck yeah good luck! Lmk how it does when you do?
Man I hope this fixes mine! Fighting a idle and shifting issue thing is hissing like crazy out of the throttle body
Please lmk if it does!

Should be all the same. I’ve done a handful of these already. Never had one I couldn’t get apart. But maybe yours is different somehow

Thank you !
No problem!
Out of curiosity how much boost do you think you where loosing from not having the TB shaft sealed up ?

I am going through the same issue. They leak right away! Around 8psi I am losing a lot of boost already.
We need all the boost!!

Is it an eBay 80mm tb?

I found your video to figure out how to get the spring back in. Thank you for the info on putting it back together.
Sweet!! Thanks

Do it still whistle?
Yeah if it’s n/a you will still hear it whistle.
@@MRE_Motorsports All your builds with these intakes have power adders? If not, do the whistle bother you?
Nah that stuff never really bothered me. To many other noises to drive my crazy. lol
Do you usually run both springs on the throttle body? I've seen others remove one spring for a lighter feel
I leave them both in. I like that feel better

Looking for this seal. I can't find any on ebay that are in stock
Maybe everyone bought them after watching my video 😇. That would be cool. I haven’t looked in a while. Maybe I’ll do a search myself.
Where can I get an iac for a chineese 102 they are longer than the gm #
Normally I just buy the throttle bodies that come with the sensors.
What are you doing with the iac port??
I’m Running the iac so I don’t do anything with the iac port.
what tps sensor did you use for this ?
I believe it was just an oreilly tps sensor
@@MRE_Motorsports do you have a certain year car/model tos sensor
Like a 99 Camaro
Much nicer solution than my goop of rtv shoved in there.
Yeah it is lol
Just in time! I need to get a tb for my swap! Haha
Don’t forget to do this!!
Get that part make the car run bad and drive crappy
