Apparently, for their next models, Audi will use the new MG platform because you f how good it is. In my opinion, if the germans start using chinese platforms, you're better off buying the full car that goes on this platform (in this case MG)

@@achaz_ Audi is developing cars for China together with SAIC (MG). Apparently it will be something like an A4 and A6 specifically developed for China. First car will be available in 2025.

I find it funny that people are so fast to criticise German cars and so fast to praise Chinese ones.
Facts are facts - lots of the Chinese cars tested on here have issues ranging from binging and bonging in excess to overheating in normal use. Some German cars have issues too but they are much less prevalent and its usually fixed in a short time.
There is little more annoying than having a "silent" car which constantly rattles, squeaks or generally makes unwanted noises. One thing that may be is when you are promised a certain range/charge speed and what you actually get is nothing like because its a bit chilly or warm out.
This is so much better because they sweated the details and improved it. Thats quite a different approach to certain brands who simply put more on the spec sheet while half of it either doesn't work or even isn't there until an OTA update is sent weeks/months/whenever later.
Think of this - you're minding your own business sitting at a junction with your loved ones in the back when a car comes at the side of you and hits your car hard. Is that moment the time you want to find out that something rattled loose or didn't work properly so the side airbags didn't deploy? Or that the door handles no longer work because "design" was prioritised over safety?
Hopefully it never happens but you really don't want to find out the hard way.

Thank you for a very interesting report. I currently have a Q8 50 TDI. We are considering changing to an EV so the Q6 / SQ6 is of particular interest to us. We live in a warm climate, in Cyprus, though our village is at 474m above sea level so gets quite cold in the winter evenings though rarely below 10c at the times of day I would be driving, and obviously can be very warm at the peak of summer. We have PV panels and a net metering systems with our local energy provider. We travel approximately 11,000km per year, most round trips of 50km to our nearest major town - at sea level - on roads with a maximum limit of 80 KMPH. Ww rarely use the highway, if we do, its limit is 100kmph.
Accounting how much energy our PV panels produce per annum, how much the house uses per annum and our current net metering credit balance, I have calculated that an EV that achieves 3miles per KW or better, would mean we would problem be self sufficient in fuel for the rest of my life.
Realistically, would the Q6 / SQ6 achieve 3 miles per kw with that kind of use?

I agree. Bjorn should do 1000km challenge on the German autobahn. But I can see it can be difficult due to many reasons. Realistically he would need to achive a much higher average speed on a good route with no speed limits, that is not easy due to roadworks, lack of good high power charging stations. Another problem is that not all EV cars can go faster than 200km/h. So he would need to find the optimal speed faster than 130km/h which can be used for testing. He will definetly spend more time charging and more often. I look forward one day when we get the 1000km range car that can do 1000km on one charge when the speed is 130km/h. Of course that means the car can do even higher at 120, 100, 90,80 etc.

One of my biggest concern with cars made after last year is the ISA speed warning:
    - How annoying is it?
    - Can it be switched off with a button or a fast key somewhere?
This is unfortunate enough to have become one of my main car buying arguments nowadays after seeing nightmarish examples of 5-7 steps in the touch screen every time you start the car.
Please report this back in your reviews (since I know you exceed the speed limit on your tests)…

      How would one “test” depreciation?
Depreciation is going to happen. It’s worse on luxury cars, and even worse on luxury cars fitted with lots of options. BEVs in the EU seem to be depreciating faster than their ICEV equivalents… and probably will continue to do so for a while until the market and tech stabilises a bit.

The Model X will most likely win since the Model Y with a much smaller battery was only 15 minutes behind this e-Tron.
Even a Model Y long range RWD would smoke the Audi

Has Audi said that the Q6 E-Tron will replace the Q8 E-Tron? I'm pretty sure it hasn't because the new Q6 E-Tron came in between the Q4 E-Tron and Q8 E-Tron.
