There should also be a version with a bigger battery (98 kWh or so), which should improve the time quite a bit. The software issues are a problem though. Maybe wait a bit until they are fixed before buying.
It's Stellantis. Their software has always been super buggy. Heck, my 2009 Peugeot with no satnav or color screen also had random problems sometimes. The fix is always the same: Turn the car off, go away for an hour or two, done. Tho sometimes the issue only clears when disconnecting or replacing the 12V battery...
I agree but it's just the software. I actually like how it looks in and outside. So I think actually by now they fixed the software and it should be good.

If you're in a bad mood just watch Bjorn's video, this one is epic! Oh no french cars - kaput, kaput! Actually with saying that I really like the new Renault Scenic E-Tech and I wish I could afford it to buy as a family car (I'm with two girls).
Phew... Pretty sobering. I hope and assume that this frequency of errors was an exception due to some problems. I have been driving the Peugeot e-208 since 2021 and the new E-208 since June 2024. I drove almost 8000 km through Germany, Norway and France without any significant problems with the new E-208. The software also works reasonably smoothly. I was able to observe very good efficiency and charging performance considering the fact that this is a small car with a 51 kWh battery. All charging processes worked without problems. And it's not even an STLA platform, just the eCMP platform. I can absolutely understand the many negative comments after this video, but as a contrast I would like to make a positive comment based on my experience with the E-208 (facelift).
Ah! My corsa kept having faults, random faults, turned off and restarted all faults cleared but then the doors wouldn't lock... Well they would lock but then immediately unlocked then locked, then unlocked to such a manic level I had to open the door. All this turned out to be the positive connector on the battery wasn't bedded tight enough. Once cleaned and refitted it hasn't done any mad SheeeetT 🤗
My neighbor has had this same car for two months. He has sooo many weird bugs. More than once, the car started flashing hazard lights at night, with no way to turn it off. Then the boot wouldn't latch, he had to tape it shut. Range is also way off from expected. Guess it's Peugeot using early users as beta testers 😮
Yes and the range is off on other Peugeot EV's as well like the 3008 and 208 ev. Not just like 10% more like 50% of the range. If you barely make 130km on a charge with moderate driving then it's frustrating.
I thought it is a recently released car. I'm having a 1.2 5008 company car and I was considering switching to the e version. I hope these are "only" software bugs and will be fixed ASAP.
You don't know it's a true PEUGEOT until you don't get a check engine light on and a message to get near the closest repair shop. That's exactly how all BlueHDI and Puretech engined owners get welcomed every morning until the car get full Kaput.
I suspect the 12v battery is low (possibly faulty) and causing the warnings and errors. Also, I read somewhere the Stellantis cars don't charge the 12v battery during charging of the traction battery, other than a small trickle charge.
OMG…it reminds me of my previous car (DS 7). Soooo comfortable but a technology from 20 years ago! So buggy! Sometimes the screen didn’t even work or remained black. I reported all this to the concession but it was like they didn’t give a sheeeeeet. Now I have a German car and it never bugs. Never.

Or maybe you are :) I see stator and min/max cell voltages on your dashboard as well, it just looks a little different compared to default dash I see on Citroen
I own the 2nd gen (2018 year) Peugeot 5008, petrol. It is awesome and very practical car. I've tested the new E-5008. It's complete disaster. I can't understand how come they've broke absolutely everything that was perfect in the previous generation ...
I had a Jeep Avenger EV rental in the UK and from very low SOC charges I would get the same warnings “service traction HV system” “repair needed reduced output” for 10-15 mins after charging
I had such a good laugh watching this! I also had Electrical traction system fault on my e-Corsa. It actually means a problem with the traction battery (the battery that powers the wheels), which is a much more serious error. In my case, it turned out that the AC fan that also cools the battery wasn't spinning and my battery was getting cooked! Just like in your case, the error would disappear whenever the car was left to rest. I went to Opel several times to get this fixed, and each time they'd come up with a different excuse, saying no error was saved. After several times, I just demanded that the seller waits until the error pops up and since it was 30 degrees outside, we only had to wait like 5 minutes and he had no choice but to get this properly fixed. Guess what it was? Someone in production didn't install the AC fan fuse properly! It only took them several times and software updates to figure this out, wasting many hours of my time driving and arguing back and forth. In the end, I think it permanently lowered my battery performance and Opel refuses to take responsibility. The car is still leased and the only option I have now (if I want the battery replaced) is a lawsuit. I just can't wait until I get rid of this car - it was my first EV and such a horrible experience. Unless something radically changes, I will never buy a PSA group car again. I feel like they took Opel and deliberately ruined the brand, which is a huge shame because I loved their cars.

It’s a Stellantis EV. I know a few family members who bought Vauxhall, Peugeot and Citroen EV’s. They have all had hellish problems - with Onboard Chargers failing, dodgy software, electrical issues. I would never buy a Stellantis EV.
@@BrandofvitiRenault really do seem to have it together with their new EV’s - the Megane is excellent and I really like the new Renault 5. I ended up buying a Polestar 2 as seeing all the challenges my family had with their Stellantis cars I just went Volvo / Polestar.
After seeing this i am just really happy with my model y. Did a road trip and visit our son in the south of Spain from the Netherlands. Just owning the car 9 days and did 5300km in total in 6 days without any hassle. just effortlessly from supercharger to supercharger across Belgium/France/Spain and visited Gibraltar to. perfect.👌🏻
Another automotive channel recently did a 1,000mi/1,600km test trip, which included the Peugeot E5008. Using eight public charges along the way, in +1°C and they rarely if ever got 100kW while charging. So 160kW is a rather optimistic hype.
Imagine all the brands and models with the same awfully quality/experience... European car industry (and French especially) was resting too long... It's now over.
I mean everybody in the comments just assuming that this is a massive problem affecting every car. People you just don’t know. Still Bjorn thanks for the test as always, 10:35 seems good although something in the 10:00 or 10:10 would have been ideal for future proofing
For me, my citroen turned on the yellow key for service at 20,000 km without any error and that I have to go to the service. I look in the instructions, service is mandatory at 25,000 km, and at 20,000 km, diesels must come to change the adblue fluid. So, on an electric car, the light to change the adblue fluid comes on.. eh stellantis :)
11:57 they're nisse, why do you care do they like it or not. They decide to camp in the lane, let them face consequences. I think there's no reason to not flash them.
14:45 It appears that when you did the facepalm here, you didn't yet know how accurate it would be for the rest of the ride! Considering that the car fixed itself in warm carage suggests that the issue is broken sealing somewhere and water gets into wrong place and possibly froze.
As an owner of an ID.3 that constantly gets slated in the press for the rubbish infotainment system, this heartens me. At least my ID.3 screen works, albeit a bit slowly. I bet this car won't get criticised as much though.
I don't deny the car may have bugs but this review is biased to say the least. Funny how almost all the EV freaks keep blasting legacy manufacturers and totally forget all the issues with they dear lovely Teslas and Chinese car makers. As an automotive industry guy, I can tell you currently all car manufacturer have software issues so that's funny to see how this is presented there, I'm quite sure there was a low service battery issue on the car that was responsible of most of the issues. Additionnaly I'm sorry but zero effort was made to understand the infotainement system of this car. Like the charge station GPS joke when he only had to press home button to be able to enter another destination. Every system has his pros and cons and it takes normally a few days to get the logic behind, and probably even more without reading manual... But keep blasting "legacies" without trying to understand the industry and you'll be happy when million peoples will lose their jobs across Europe (this started already). Tesla and China Friends were moving faster because they did not have to manage a petrol industrial heritage and don't have a real dealer network. But even with this, legacies are already catching up. When people will realise they are completly left alone with their cheap toys after the purchase, they'll realise the good old makers were not so bad after all even if it is clear at the moment, they still need to improve a lot.
@@juliendormoy4711 Thank you for a well reasoned and sensible comment. I main point is that VW seems to be slated a lot in the motoring press for issues that all the manufacturers seem to be suffering from. I'm not VW fan boy, but most owners of ID.3s tend to really like them despite the slow infortainment.
That software has issues. Im just getting rid of sn ioniq for a born, but the ioniq has had about 3 software hickups say 5 times over 3 years. Do Stellantis test their cars before production ?
Wieso spricht du so gut deutsch? Sounds good!! alwaays nice Videos!!! Danke
germanische Sprache 😊
It’s a Stellantis EV. I know a few family members who bought Vauxhall, Peugeot and Citroen EV’s. They have all had hellish problems - with Onboard Chargers failing, dodgy software, electrical issues. I would never buy a Stellantis EV.
@@TheMrMarkW I did. Sold it before a year . Bought a renault megane e tech and have been extremely happy for years now
What about the Citroën e-C4?
@@nakfan That was the one I sold.Great comfort but could not make friends with the infotainment.

Just genius: no charging curve needed, power flows straight into the tank 😅 14:00
Buggs, a good buggspray should help 🤣🤣🤣
As a french, I wouldn't recommand french EVs. The only ones that don't suck totally are the Megane et the Scenic. Others should not be considered
I'm sticking to my reliable Ariya, both in hardware and software, no failures so far in 2 years.
Imagine all the brands and models with the same awfully quality/experience...
European car industry (and French especially) was resting too long... It's now over.
*Stellantis
Your car service subscription has expired - report to a service station immediately !
I mean everybody in the comments just assuming that this is a massive problem affecting every car. People you just don’t know.
Still Bjorn thanks for the test as always, 10:35 seems good although something in the 10:00 or 10:10 would have been ideal for future proofing
Yeah, people swarming like moths to light with their anecdotes about the french car the friend of an uncle once had. #echochamber
Was the fault found? Could it be the OBD reader?
For me, my citroen turned on the yellow key for service at 20,000 km without any error and that I have to go to the service. I look in the instructions, service is mandatory at 25,000 km, and at 20,000 km, diesels must come to change the adblue fluid. So, on an electric car, the light to change the adblue fluid comes on.. eh stellantis :)
11:57 they're nisse, why do you care do they like it or not. They decide to camp in the lane, let them face consequences. I think there's no reason to not flash them.
Those noises would drive me insane.
That handshake fail is a design problem on the car charger?
More errors than an MG
Facepalm thumbnail means The Sun will be all over this video
Imagine this adventure with a -25°C...
😂
Was that a ”low oil”-symbol flashing in the dash at 17:42 ?🤣🤣😢
14:45 It appears that when you did the facepalm here, you didn't yet know how accurate it would be for the rest of the ride!
Considering that the car fixed itself in warm carage suggests that the issue is broken sealing somewhere and water gets into wrong place and possibly froze.
Even not beta status of the CarOS
Hej Bjørn, laver du en anmeldelse af KIA EV3, jeg er meget spændt på at høre din mening omkring den.
Holly shit 😱 . Never stellantis cars
After the scandal of puretech, the scandal of DV5, here is the scandal of electric Stellantis. The Titanic
Don't forget adBlue :)
The French car has electrical issues, news at eleven!
That's nuts, you live in a parallel universe to me with my leaf 19kwh . Maybe the car is going nuts because there's dirt on the sensors ?
😂😂😂 Wanted a Click bait and the car gave him an original one
How it compares to ev9?
Stellantis quality. Yeah.. I expect they will go bankrupt within the next years if they don't step up.
Is the car camera placed where your passport is placed?
no, it's just the speedo under the passport
I bought an EV9 to replace my diesel 5008. I’m glad I didn’t hang on for the e-5008
You succeeded doing 1000km in a 5008? This is already a success! ;-) Hopefully, you did not compare it with the Xpeng G9... 😀
What is French comfort? As are french swimsuit for nudist vacation?
what battery size is this. I thought there was only a 73kwh battery on the market right now. But that doesn't fit with the range shown in the video
the weirdest UI is the small touchscreen below. Already touch only climate is a disaster
La honte ! J'aimerais savoir ce que vous a répondu le concessionnaire Peugeot au retour du véhicule !
That software has issues. Im just getting rid of sn ioniq for a born, but the ioniq has had about 3 software hickups say 5 times over 3 years.
My solution rvery time wad to just long press the start stop button and it turns the vehicle off, then hit the button again and it reboots itself and everthign is back to normal. You dont even have to stop to do this. Ive ond it at 80mph, and ive done it pootleing around town. Sorted thr issue each time.
This is a big car without preconditioning and still managed to be as fast as an ID4 and BMW i5 at lower temperatures. Pretty good. The long range models are coming and should have battery pre-conditioning. Terrible software though.
Soooo many design issues... I don't get why most cars have these super stupid design flaws and they decide to release it like this.
