  • The Smallrig RC450D LED is a powerful lighting tool. It has a 5600K daylight light temperature and a CRI of 95+. Shining bright is where the RC450D shines brightest, as it's unique 500w LED chip design performs 30-50% brighter than similarly powered lights. The RC450D LED has an optional remote, so you can quickly and easily adjust settings from a distance. In addition to the RC450D, there is an RC450B version with BiColor control, as well as 400w versions of each (RC350D and RC350B). The light has a Bowens mount so it can be used with a wide variety of modifiers from Smallrig or third parties.

    I have the 450B, was a bit scheptical before ordering but once Igot it, it replaced my Aputure 300d and 600d.
    For me the big plus is that it’s mich lighter than both the 300d and 600d so it’s more portable, and I don’t do run and gun so i’m ok with needing an outlet to power it :)

      I got the 450b as well. Can I please ask, just in case you might know. Is the Godox FLS8 Fresenl compatible with it. I am sure it will fit what I want to find out is if it is compatible in terms of heat. I don't want to get the FLS10 as it won't fit in my case but I don't to buy the FLS8 if the 450b will cook it or vice versa.

      @@marcusavanti902 You can get the Nanlite FL-20G, that one works well and doesnt have any heat issues, HOWEVER you have to deal with some back spill (for me it`s not a problem at all, but worth mentioning). :)

    Anyone else notice the design of the light head looks like the alien machines in "War of the Worlds"?

    Smallrig have created some really interesting products lately. I own the 120 bicolour cob light and two RM75 panels. They are all fantastic quality and extremely reliable. Quality kit at an affordable price, what more can you ask?

    Thanks Rob!
    The competition really needs to take a lesson from that mount and grip handle… I’m looking at you Godox.

    Any chance of a follow up video with different Fresnel comparisons. For me personally I want to know if the Godox FLS8 is compatible with my Smallrig 450b in terms of heat but lots of people who buy one of these will be interested in what different Fresnels are compatible, light fall off etc

    Thanks for this! How far was the light from your meter when you made your reading?

    If you can use this mount with the AdD300 pro I would love to know about it. The only thing I don’t like about those lights …

    does the light output drop 10% if you put the Godox reflector on it? And does the Godox light gain 10% if you put the Smallrig reflector on it?

      Yes. That’s exactly how I identified that 10% of the difference was reflector design.

    Is this compatible with godox spotlight vsa 39? Does the light look well?

    Robert this question has nothing to do with this video but, since you are an expert in Godox and Flashpoint products, could you be kind enough to tell me if the is any difference between the Godox XPro II and the Flashpoint R2 Mk II. Many thanks. Some UA-camrs want to make you think that there is. I already have the Flashpoint so is there any logic in upgrading? Many thanks.

      @robhallphoto  Рік тому

      Yes it's a different design, but no there's probably no gain in switching. I'll have a video out on the XPro II this week that goes over the differences.

    so this light is more the twice the brightest of my godox ad200 at full power?

    • @robhallphoto
      @robhallphoto  Рік тому +2

      No. The small rig RC450D is an LED - a constant light source. The AD200 is a flash. W/s (watt-seconds) ratings of flash and watts of LED are not relative comparisons of brightness. Both are measures of power draw, not light output. And while this is a gross simplification, you can assume flash to be 30-100x brighter than LED when the watt-seconds of a flash are the same as the watts of the LED.
