Dude- this guy saved me HOURS OF WORK on getting this fucking wheel bearing off and changed. He could be speaking fluent hillbilly/ebonics, and I would still appreciate the video. Don't hate- appreciate!
@alexinter7 SO glad to have been of help! Your car I assume had a different type of bearing! Or was it? Because the bearings on some cars are on the spindle assembly all in one. On those cars the whole spindle needs to be removed and bearings need to be "pressed". Well anyway. On my car evidently the bearing. Its as a hub assembly rather than be the whole spindle. I think many of the modern cars are like this!
Did you protect the the threaded part of axle before pounding it off? Well, if I had a case like this. I would use a heavy duty puller. A good one! That sould gaurentee the axle to come loose.
@wall4xxx I had my 2002 Olds Intrigue (3.5 DOHC) for 7 years now & the only time a shop worked on it was to get new tires. Everything else I did myself over time. Rear struts, both hub assemblies, battery, thermostat, alternator, radiator, rear disc brake pads, both front rotors, brake pads & transmission filter fluid change. Some shops are bad not all, my gf's friend came over to look at her coolant & a heater hose was cut with bolts stuck on the ends she said a shop did it.
Im not sure if pep boys has one or not. But I seen axle pullers that attach to the lug bolts, Then you tighten the lug nuts on to it. Then the shaft of the tool pushes the axle out. Check out the youtube videos on axle puller.
A little PB Blaster and some heat from a blow torch can help loosen that hub nut. Also a wire brush is great for cleaning up those exposed threads outside of the nut. I use a dab of anti-seize on a ALL bolts when I put it back together, even on the back centre of the brake rotor where it touches the hub.
Putting the E-brake on will not do anything to the front wheels. The reason why the wheel didn't spin when you loosened the nut was because the transmission was in park with one wheel on the ground.
in need help, the wheel bearing hub is rusted and it wont let the axle come out when i pound on it, is their anything i can use to loosen it up so the axle could come out
I did a hub assembly on a 1988 Beretta 10 years ago & I had to take the bottom strut bolts out to get that part out of the way. On my 2002 Intrigue I didn't have to it was all there in the front.
@travr1131 Makes me very happy when I see I have been of help! Im SO glad Im doing this. Because its my way to COMBAT those prick mechanics to like to HIDE their SECRET on doing this job. I MEAN, it pisses me off when I ask some mechanic about a job I need help on. They DON'T want to tell anything, INSTEAD they tell me, "Well the only way to know is to BRING your car in... then I say... SO in other words, I have to pay 2 hours labor to look at it! THATS WHY I CHOOSE TO PASS OUT MY FREE SECRETS!
Obviously you don't know how to get the bearing out. SO WHY ARE YOU WATCHING THIS VIDEO ANYWAY??? The specific ways I know how to accomplish a task IS THE SECRET. And I giving it away to anyone who wants it. So I can help steer them CLEAR of those DISHONEST mechanics. FOR WHO I HATE! (their dishonesty)
@wall4xxx Im not insulting anybody but those ASS mechanics at the shop who HIDE their little secrets and CHARGE UP THE ASS because they take advantage of US who are so dependant on our cars and know nothing about them. I PAID FOR MY SECRETS ALRIGHT. but I dont see why I should charge to help people steer clear of those PESKY mechanics who MOST of the time are DISHONEST! Right???????
You replacing whole hub, no the bearing. I have only bearing in my hand, and I can't press out that damn hub.. and no video on whole youtube to show this.
Just GET OUT! I'm only SORRY your jealous that I CAN work on cars and you CAN'T. But I don't see why anybody should be jealous, I'm passing out free secrets!

Great video! Very useful thank you! :)

Man it looks super easy to change the wheel bearing on that car. On my car I need a shop press to change it out.

You a press machine. It's better imo to have got the whole assembly. So much easier
When a tweaker takes apart and assembles random shit jus cuz
you have to access the axle lol
Wow
You talk way to much and don't explain what people need to know
