Dennis, I have been a subscriber for some time now and really enjoy your videos. I can not thank you enough for turning on to Banggood, A real woodworkers toy store. I have been woodworking for over forty years and the products that you have shown from Bangggod not only improves my woodworking , but my enjoyment of my shop. I can not get colored MDF anywhere near me, so I am very jealous of how colorful your shop projects are. Keep up the great videos and I'll hope to be watching for many years to come.

I'm happy you're reviewing these Chinese made products. The name/origin of manufacturing has a negative connotation to it, but clearly you're displaying that most of their products have a decent amount of quality to them. Maybe a few things have been overlooked, like the size of the T track and the clamp being able to work together, but thanks to you we can avoid those mishaps. I'm definitely adding making a list for my workshop and will use your links :)

The more I see on channels like yours, the more I realise how much there is to learn! I've just ordered track, clamps, measuring tapes and mitre stops (using your affiliate links). Thanks for your continued high quality output.

    Hello,
I would like to take part in the competition and would also like to explain why: I have been following your channel for several months and have also viewed all the videos retrospectively and I am simply thrilled. I only made many of my purchase decisions for setting up my new small workshop with your videos (e.g. Atomstack A5, angle stop ...). I also found the stunning design with black MDF so exciting that I got some and used it to redesign my new workbench. I am very inspired by your channel and I always look forward to your new high-quality videos, for which I always take a lot of time and enjoy. Keep it up!!!!

My suggestion: when I made my t-track bench top I attached my t-track with with bolts with nuts on the backside instead of just screws in the wood. That gives it plenty of strength for clamping.

Dennis -- Thank you for making these videos; by which I mean all your videos, not just your China Tools series. The time you take shows in the quality of the video.
Question: Have you considered comparing aluminium T-tracks to T-slots cut into the wood itself? I'm not sure how well T-slots would work with MDF, but they seem to work very well with Baltic birch plywood or solid wood. The advantages of T-slots are they are stronger (unless the T-track is held in with long screws into material that holds screws well). They seem to be quicker and easier to install. (With a T-slot, once you've used your router to cut the slot, you're done. With a T-track, you need to cut a slot into the wood for the track and then cut the track to fit, and glue/screw it into place.) And, finally, T-slots are less expensive. The disadvantage of T-slots is that they would seem to wear out over time.
I ask because I think you could make an interesting and informative video addressing when and why you'd use one solution over the other.

    • @HookedonWood
      @HookedonWood  3 роки тому

Hi David, No I did not compare them. On this moment I can not compare them. I hoped my rail guide clamps would fit the T-tracks but this was not the case. Otherwise I would compare them. These smalle clamps do not fit the Micro Jig grooves. So, I did not have the opportunity yet.

Excellent and informative video - but - BEWARE IF YOU ARE IN THE UK - from my selections quite a few didn't ship to the UK (from China or UK warehouse) - and a couple of items I put in my basket then had very high carriage charges added without telling you at the payment stage (I deleted them and started again)
I did order 4 lengths of track and a couple of other items at very good prices, with "free" - or in other words included shipping cost.

@@HookedonWood it looks like just the longer lengths (>500mm) have the much higher postage charge

Another great video Denis. Thank you so much. Do you know if the Miter Track Stopper for Fence will work in Incra T-tracks? I want to know both if the locking blue piece will fit in and lock in the internal slot in Incra track and also if the part of the base meant to slide in the top opening of the track will fit in that part of the Incra track and slide nicely.

As I watch your videos I was wondering what is that black material you are using for some of your tables.
    Thanks

Woah Dennis that is a ridiculously fancy drillpress platform! Thanks for all the info, so many ideas now. Will of course use your links, again, to get the tracks and clamps :)
I see Hongdui also has micro adjusters for the flip stops, but they are a bit pricey. Do you think you can test those some time? :) Also the clear cut stock guides (Jessem clones) look pretty dam nice! And you could give those away when you’re done with them ;)

3 different sized T tracks. How do Banggood 'name' them please? Is it by external dimension?
And how do these sizes relate to accessories please?

Hey there. Since you have reviewed and used so much tools in your workshop AND you're a Domino owner. Do you have any idea how one could build a portable crossstop jig for the Domino. The systems that are on the market right now are either super expensive or not well thought-through. There has to be a good DIY way... Curious if you have any idea. What do you think about the original Festool crosscut stops? I hear a lot of negative reviews.

Great video! Very informative and useful!
Are you maybe planing on making a review video about your drillpress? I am very interested in getting one and I would love to hear your opinion! Also why did you change from Makita to Festool?

I will keep it in mind. The idea to change from Makita to Festool was always there. But the first accupack is always so expansive. When you have it, adding extra products asked smaller steps financially. But it is just that it is such a pleasure to work with Festool. There is almost nothing you can not do with a Makita, but it works so smooth with Festool. So, definitely not necessary, but just for pleasure.
