When this video first came out, I said it would be nice to be able to just buy this and Tamar hinted that something might be coming. When it was announced I immediately pre-ordered it. It arrived a few days ago and it is everything I hoped it would be. My router work is going to make a giant keep forward. Just fabulous!
@@Bay444444 I have the Dewalt dwp611 and it fits perfectly. I didn't try the plunge base but I have no doubt it would fit perfectly. Did you print the colored template? Be sure you set the template at the correct size before printing.
@@Bay444444 did you hold up the template to the jig? Are there wholes on the template that are not on the jig?
@@patsipes6561 just wanted to let you know problem resolved - the template I printed has been changed/updated from the one that was first available on the day it was released for sale (when I purchased) to the one now available. Using current works with my Dewalt. Thanks for your comments.

I've thought many times before "she is really creative when it comes to designing jigs" but this one impresses me even more than usual. I salute you on your talent.
So awesome to hear ☺️
😊😊
I’m new and I can’t stop rewatching these videos she has made. The explanations and the use of the tools are so innovative. I mean it’s like “a-ha” and “oh I see” over and over again. Such a great series of videos. 👍🏽
@@reid211 Qi I wish all my teachers were as good at teaching and as attractive as her. Thanks for everything. Jim
@@reid211 I agreed 👍🏼
I don't think I've ever watched a video of yours that disappointed me. Good teacher, clear and to the point. I always seem to learn something from you. Nice work!
Wow, thank you!
First, this is the coolest, most "why didn't I think of that" jig I've seen. It should be patented and brought to market. Second, your "I'm not a professional and don't pretend to be" presentation is refreshing. Your willingness to experiment and try something new on camera regardless of the outcome is inspiring to the rest of us. You are fearless. Keep up the great work and look forward to the next video.
So awesome to hear! Glad you like it and my videos ☺️
This one seriously should be brought to market. It’s incredible
I’ll invest
“Dishes are done man!” From “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead”. Love it. Great jig.
One day your kids when your get old enough to realuze it, they are going to be amazed with you as we are. Holy Crap Tamar. You made something so difficult to be super easy. Thanks.
☺️☺️ I’ll show this to them when they are teenagers. Ha!
this is by far one of the best home-designed jigs ive ever seen. very well thought out. great job!
Glad I watched this video. Bought the bundle router table and 6-in-one from JKM and wondered what all the extra acrylic was for. You made it easy to understand. Thanks.
Love the enthusiasm and passion you have for your art. Thank you for sharing.
Another brilliant and ingenuitive creation from one of my favorite creative and inspirational wood workers!
So awesome to hear! Glad you liked it!
Wow, this is one of the coolest jigs I’ve ever seen!!! Can’t wait to make it & use it on future projects! Thanks so much for helping out novice woodworkers like myself! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome to hear! Hope it works out for you!
Tamar is helping more than novices. She is easily one of the best I've ever seen as she simplifies difficult things.
Haha “Don’t tell Mom the Babysitter’s dead”. Great video and jig.
You got it. Ha Thanks!!
Your creativity and workmanship never cease to amaze me. Good for you!
So amazing that you conceptualized all of these features in your head, figured out how to integrate everything and built it too. I really love this.
I will make this if I can source some fairly priced acrylic.
It was definitely fun to figure out 👍
Amazing on two fronts. 1 brilliant jig. 2 best sponsor placement I’ve ever seen 😂
Much better than the WD-40 garage door grease. 😂 But that was fun to watch too.
Hahaha! Thanks so much! 😂😂

WOW!!! I am astounded, commercial jigs don't come even close to the versatility of your design. Beautiful work, well presented, I am speechless at how nice it is.
So glad you like it!
I'm in a hurry so this is the only thing I'm going to say: I've been watching your videos and I love you. Greetings from an argentinian woodworker. You are an inspiration!

Extremely useful and awesome! I can see adding various strips on one side to make relative size and spacing dado's at the same time. I have been thinking about how to build a flush trim jig for edge banding for some time- now I have a plan! Many thanks!

I appreciate the time, money, and energy that goes into these videos. Being a parent is hard enough, let alone making instructional videos. This is one of the very few wood working channels that I watch. Clearly stands apart from other how to videos.
That’s so awesome to hear. I’m glad you appreciate and understand all the hard work that goes into it. It’s a lot! I really appreciate you taking Time out of your day to let me know!
This is brilliant, and that straight edge guide was a winner too.

This is very timely because my wife (bless her!) noticed that a local cabinet shop had some 1/4” acrylic scrap for sale. I got five ~4’X4’ sheets for $20 and had a nice chat with the owner. Nice guy.
Oh wow! That's awesome!
Simply Awesome!
Keep inspiring with such innovative ideas!
Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead. I love that line and my kids think I'm crazy.
Hahah! You got it! I loved that movie so much as a kid...
“Right on top of that Rose!”
I've been binge watching jig creation videos for some days and find that yours is elegantly simple, highly functional and the best.
Many videos create great jigs but they are non-versatile monstrosities.
Thank you for another great idea!
So awesome to hear! Thanks!
I purchased the plans and printed them out. For everyone out there,, they are excellent, and very detailed. Between them and the video, I'm sure my jig will come out right. I also bought a 24" piano hinge on Amazon for $8.99 to make the edge guide. Can't wait to make the jig and the edge guide and see what I can do with them. Tamar, I am now going to watch all your videos, except the guitar builds. I'm sure I am going to learn countless things that will help take my woodworking to the next level.
Awesome to hear! Good luck!

Thanks! Then I guess you’ll like the video I posted today.... the whole project is a fail and a mistake. Ha
Been subscribed for a little while now Tamar and really love your enthusiasm and ability to communicate during your videos. This one on the other hand takes these aspects to a new level, why? You start with the plans done, you then head straight into the cutting etc. and before we know it the jobs done and he practical applications of said begins. First class from start to finish, wonderful.

This is amazing. The router is one of the tools I'm the most scared of using because I always mess up. I am going to try this....once I buy myself a battery palm router. Thank you for sharing
Have fun with it! The router is the most versatile in my opinion. Use it on EVERYTHING
Doesn't have to be battery powered. A router on a cable is just as good.

Isn't that a makita she is using. I'm going by the colour.
Great vid!! A tip I heard a while back is to take a photocopy the underside of things (like the router) this will give you a template you can use for drilling holes - also great for mounting extension leads to the wall...
Thanks! That’s a cool tip!
I've used that trick many times. Just make sure that you're not getting any scale changes between the pic and the print. I will place a ruler next to what I'm photographing for reference.
Copiers are specifically designed to NOT copy at 100%, so that one can't copy money well enough to use in a vending machine. But, sometimes it's close enough.
@kieran finney Huh, guess I'm out of date. Thanks.

That jig is awesome. That said, the star of the show here is the folding offset router straightedge!!! Damn!!! That is a super clever solution to an age old problem. Thanks for the great ideas... Oh, and the movie is Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead. Love that scene and often use that line here at home.
Hahah! Glad you liked it!
thats an awesome expansion on your previous router base/jig. Very comprehensive! Actually love the idea of the double base for the circle jig, so much better than drilling a hole !
Glad you like it! Thanks!
Just purchased your plans, can't wait to make this. Thanks! Btw if you want to make a 4" hole, measure 2" from the center.....not 4 lol
Just curious, how did building her jig work out 4 you?
@@wilfredoreyes4617 It's come in very handy and a great addition to my workshop. Takes a bit of getting used to for certain uses though. For instance, it's much easier to route grooves with a circular guide than a straight one, the slightest shift and everything's messed up.
@@RealMangaAddict Hey thanks for replying to my question. It's very difficult to aquire certain materials here on the island. May I ask if you feel this jig is cost affective?
@@wilfredoreyes4617 I can relate, I live in the Caribbean and it’s impossible to find the acrylic here, I ordered it from the US. I do find it very helpful, but it definitely depends on whether you have uses for it or not. In my case, I have a small wood working shop and no router table so it helps alot. Especially when I can set the jig and make repeat cuts
Ingenious and well thought-out! I’ll be ordering the plans, for sure! Also - the integration of the ad was excellent. I hope Hello Fresh appreciated it. 😉
Thanks! And awesome! Hope it works out for you you 😉
I ordered the plans as soon as she said they were available on the website.
Just found an 8x4 piece of discarded acrylic sign tha is mostly clear and I’m in the process of makin sets of this jig for all of my fiscally challenged woodworking friends. Bough the plans and that jig set from Woodcaft. (They sure are proud of it but it IS convenient) and since I’ll be using it back and forth on several jigs it isn’t too painful. Helpful.
Thanks for your posts, they are always both informative and helpful.
Why do I always come back to you and why do I always settle on your approach amongst all the other variations on every theme/jig on youtube? For several reasons. First is research. You always make yourself familiar with what is out there. Second is thoroughness. You always completely master the topic before you present it. Third is completeness. The videos always finish with a clear demonstration of how you use the jig in the real world. Fourth, plans! Almost without fail you put together well documented instructions. The perspiration that you give to everything is amazing. So easy to talk about, so damn hard to execute. Good lord Tamar. They are so easy to follow and so succinct. It almost makes me forgive your funny accent(jkaaaaaaay!!!!). Fifth is you always find a way to add your own special touch and raise the bar for everyone else. I made your crosscut jig. To this day I have not seen it eclipsed. Sixth is presentation. Flawless. You show your mistakes as well. At least the ones that you feel some needs to be aware of. And finally you just being you. We have all watched you grow. I raised 5 children. I know what it is to split time between your passion and the things you hold most dear. Good luck to you. Noone wants to lose you here but you know what comes first.
That was really so awesome to hear. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It’s a ton of work. Glad to know it’s appreciated!
Gosto muito do seu canal, é show!!
The only drawback I see to this jig is using Acrylic. Acrylic is easy to crack. Lexan (polycarbonate) would be a better option. Though slightly more expensive.
I thought the same thing when she said acrylic. Lexan (brand name) or similar product would be a better choice. The difference in price you won't even think about when that acrylic goes flying all over the shop.
@@bobd. I chose polycarbonate because I had just bought and cut a bunch of it for security windows. I had a 1" strip 72" long and thought I would just bend and snap it into small pieces to discard. I bent it 180 degrees and it still didn't snap. It is very tough stuff. So, when it came to making this jig, it was a no brainer what I would use. Acrylic is good for picture frames, polycarbonate for anything that is going to be "used and abused and might crack.
@@russmartin4189 why are you directing your comment at me? Acrylic and polycarbonate are different animals. Your comments makes no sense with respect to me.
@@bobd. I was agreeing with you! Polycarbonate is Lexan.
@@bobd. Where in the hell is your logic? He's backing up you and your comment!

Awesome router jig. I'm new to woodworking and I recently bought a trim router and as a after thought I was wondering how I would be able to make a straight line free hand. Thank you answering that question
Gotta know... what was for dinner? Ha!
I am absolutely new, doing my first project - putting a wood top on an MDF desk and converting it to a vanity. Do any of you guys who know what you're doing remember how confusing it was hearing for the first time words and terms like "edge -banding", "designing a custom jig", "free hand routing"? Very much appreciate this lady Tamar, her patient, measured pacing and simple yet complete directions take the mystery out of much of this and instill confidence. I'm now very confident my first project will come out very nice and be the first of many. I've put a piece of plywood with a very pretty grain pattern on top and plan to edge band some hard wood and create a beveled edge.
That’s so awesome to hear. I definitely remember being very confused and frustrated. So I’m happy to hear my videos are helping with that
Nice jig, Tamar! Instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
For all you DIYers on a budget. I have bought a lot of tools using credit card sign up bonuses and cash rewards. Wells Fargo is giving $200 cash back on your first $1000. I used it to buy food and gas! There are many others. I just bought a Makita 3 base corded trim router kit, like Tamar's, but with a cord and more powerful motor. Cost over $200, but was completely free! Should last a lifetime. Happy Routing!

Young Lady your work is second to none God continue to bless you and your family outstanding work. Bottom line
Thank you so much!
I recently completed building your router jig. Within one week I needed to modify a cake plate that I made to fit my daughter-in-law's glass come. Somehow the grove within the circular wooden plate was approximately 1/6th" too small. Since they live on the west coast I could not try it with the glass dome. They are here now visiting us for the holidays so I had them bring the wooden plate so I could modify it. The piece has a butterfly inlay so I did not want to put a pivot point into the surface and that is where I was able to utilize your jig to open the circular slot. It worked better than I expected. If I could I would attach a photo.. Happy New Year.
It is so very kind of you to share your knowledge. This to me is what the Internet is for. I love that you share your knowledge with such great detail and enthusiasm.❤️

Tara! You are indeed a revelation. Love your work, skills, ingenuity and humility. Need a few more guys to follow your lead.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for NOT making this on the router table! I have minimal tools, and it leads frustrated me when people do how-tos for jigs using a tool that’s more powerful than the tool it will be for. Like, I don’t have a table saw; that’s why I need a jig for a circular saw.
And I don’t have a router table; I only have t rim router, so thank you for showing how to make it using the trim router.
And this is simply brilliant. So ingenious. You’re my hero.

Ha! Thanks so much!
OMG! Your build is truly awesome! So spot on with what I want in a jig packed with so many features! Especially the extensions and how to cut a circle without making a pilot hole like all the other jig makers have to do. Their jigs they made are great, but yours fits what I'd love to do. I have the Ryobi trim router. I was sitting here like how is she going to make a circle without drilling a pilot hole. You blow me away! You rock! Definitely gonna make this soon. Thank you to the moon and back. Love this!
Awesome
much better than the junk router kits showing up from you know where !!!!!!
This is a very well thought out system! And this is coming from a guy who'd rather spend more time dreaming up and making jigs than doing the actual job its self! My only critique isn't about the jig its self but about the way you measured the set up for cutting the circles. When cutting circles you actually have to divide by two when setting up the bit because the pivot point is in the middle of the circle. In other words to cut a 4" circle you'd measure out 2" from the pivot point.
Yeah. People misspeak sometimes. Realized that after I posted.
@@3x3CustomTamar Yeah when you said 4" circle I was surprised when you set the radius at 4". It sure looked like an 8" circle when you got done! Building drums as a side line "hobby" I'm very familiar with circle layout, so I noticed that right away! Whatever! My intention wasn't so much about busting your ass as just pointing it out for any "beginners" out there watching this. I've been there and done that myself! That aside... Big thumbs up 👍 for this very well thought out jig!! And for making the plans available. Another thing I really liked was your "trick" router guide! Seeing that was one of those "Why didn't I think of that!?" moments! I've been doing carpentry/woodworking for 40+ years and still there's always something new to learn! Subscribed....
LOL I could not figure why I was not getting projects from you I forgot to click the bell.
That window trick is brilliant.
Wow! I’ve been a subscriber for a year now. Why am I now just watching this video? Lol! I’ve been procrastinating on making a custom trim router base for a while. I even already have the acrylic. I was just waiting for the right inspiration and you thought of many of the uses that I would also need. Fantastic tutorial on 6 jigs!! I am excited to try all this in my very modest woodshop. Thank you!

Very cool. I like the fact that you can see through the jig. I made one out of Baltic Birch, using t-track for the slides, rather than slots cut into the wood. I had an old micro-adjuster laying around that I was able to incorporate. A jig like this is very, very useful.
