During the events of Soulcalibur IV, Cervantes was killed by his daughter Ivy, who released all the souls he has collected through the years, transferring them in her, making her young and probably immortal. After that, he got absorbed in the Astral Chaos, where he got saved by Algol, turning him into a new pawn, even if he doesn't remember, and send it back on the mortal realm so he would prepare it for the coming of the Hero King. Cervantes does not remember what happened so he just think to have been able to overcome both the Soul Edge and Soul Calibur, starting once again his life as the dreadful pirate of the seas, using only his own strenght... :P
Freed from Battle Fantasia he's voiced by Daisuke Ishiwatari of Guilty Gear fame and has a Hook for a hand! Watch out for the devastating Magnum Jet Landing! It was a low key game that is on the 360 and PS3, if you get the chance play it!

Two of your videos I've watched lately have had Soul Calibur characters up around that top spot. Are you going to do a video on the top characters you'd like to see Soul Calibur VI?
The short answer is "Yes!" The longer answer is: I would like to do one in the near future, but I want to see more about the game with some trailers or breakdowns. Also, I generally like to discuss less likely characters rather than fan favorites for speculation lists so the list has some relevance once characters start getting announced, but a lot of the characters I want in the game are likely going to be in the game if they are going back to their roots, like Taki, Ivy, Cervantes, etc. So I may do a video on my favorite characters from the series to tie it in to SCVI, or find the obscure characters in the series the deserve a shot in the game, like Ashlotte or Li Long. I could also do a video about guest characters considering how creative Soul Calibur/Namco gets with their fighting game guests.
