Cleo, what impresses me the most is the quality of your work without the latest gadget. Now you may say, the projector, the new iron, and so on...but those are not gadgets if they are used continuously.
Your room is airy, comfortable and peaceful. It inspires me to look at my space and begin to work towards a calm, peaceful room where I can create, without having to clean before hand .
Keeping our floors clear is so obvious, one doesn't think of it right away. Thank you for reminding us 😊

Love your sewing room. I am fortunate enough to have a rather large room for my sewing studio. It was originally designed just for sewing but I added an 8ft long arm machine. I have to keep reminding myself to keep all flat surfaces from so as much clutter as possible. If I don’t it gets overwhelming and I back away from sewing. I am a fabric hoarder. A proud liberator of fabric from both online and brick and mortar stores. Nothing junky. I have each planned complete with pattern and notions. So I pick up a package and begin. I do get bored with only one project. Go figure! I have set a goal of one quilt per month and for clothing 4 items per month. Lined and couture are the exception. So far, so good and I am pushing to keep flat surfaces usable, i.e. clutter free. I have the Rowenta iron as well. An older model but I highly recommend using distilled water and keeping it clean…the heating unit.
I strive to have such a beautiful room as yours. So clean and stress free. Love it!!! Love your channel. We won’t mention how much linen I have.😉

Thanks for the sewing spaces tour - really lovely. I keep a microfiber cloth and a hand-held microfiber swiffer-type tool in a basket on a shelf near my sewing space for quick dusting of sewing machines and surfaces after a project.

Holy cow a cutting room with a fireplace!! How beautiful!!
I needed to hear your philosophy! I went to a quilters estate sale the past 2 Saturdays! The first weekend I found $220 of necessary purchases. The prices were phenomenal!! Went yesterday thinking I didn’t need anything. But managed to find $240 more!! But they had the small triangular iron for $2, and a darling music box for $3!! So what was I to do. Lol I’m saying jelly rolls for $16!!
NOW I have to organize and store all of this. And true confession my sewing room and my fabric storage room needed a major overhaul anyway!!
But I appreciate you idea of nothing on the floor!! Thx.
    Take care!!

I love the Viki Sews pattern. Very detailed explanation which makes it easy and the fit is amazing. I made the Felicia dress and am inspired to sew more of her patterns.

Great approach to keep the floor clear! For your rolls, there are great ideas for wrapping paper laid on wire/tension rods, akin to shelving--though likely the patterns are too long for that in your closet.... But I love using walls and in a closet, using that vertical space & moving least used items furthest away... I WFH on my leather business, and have large rolls of leather--got a pipe "shelf" system for one wall that is high enough to be out of the way of my work area there & goes up to the ceiling. Also have a tall 8" wide "metro" shelving unit for other rolls & lots of shelves so easier to access/remove rolls from each shelf end--maybe something like that but short to fit under your cutting table for the pattern paper rolls!? Loads of volume under the top to add shelves (if wood top, screw into from below) and can still keep off the floor... Though a wheeled rack easier as can pull out to access all items...).
Gorgeous space, love the wall paper! (And one of those steam iron units is on my wish list)!

Wonderful work space! I do love an organizational space to work in. I try to vacuum my workspace every day or every other day. I also have a large German Shepard who likes to hang out in my sewing area. 😊

Cleo, I love your crafting/work/guest space! Especially how you keep it so tidy and organized that’s best for you! I’m inspired to go home and finish the projects I have on the floor haha. I am also looking forward to your future videos! Ever since finding your channel on a UA-cam sewing rabbit hole, I watch every single one! You really inspire me to slow down when sewing and create a cozy space in which I can thrive creatively.

Omg, Cleo, I love your sewing space even more! I’m still not ready for projectors, but I love that folks are leaning that way!
I also work and sew in the same space, and I have to vacuum and dust mop often and my HVAC uses filters.

I ❤ your philosophy of nothing on the floor. Your space is so lovely and calm. I carry my machine to quilt retreats, and those rolling cases take up room. Plus, I evidently shop faster than I sew, so while my fabric stash is manageable, it’s still pretty impressive. I guess I’ll be satisfied by keeping my stash contained and organized. Thank you for this well thought out and clearly executed video. Your calm thoughtful manner is so soothing.

Kudos to you for toting all your equipment to retreats! I'm still figuring out a way to bring my machine to classes. Do you have a favorite rolling case?

@@cleow I just purchased a Tutto case for my Husqvarna Sapphire 935, and it’s absolutely fantastic. I bought directly from the Tutto website, as theres been an update in the quality of wheels, & Amazon didn’t have them (yet). Customer service was superb.

Love your sewing space. What is the brand of long skinny light in your main sewing station? Looks like it provides a lot on light over the entire area.

    • @cleow
      @cleow  Рік тому

Thanks! This is the task light I use over my machine: amzn.to/3qqVxN9. I actually have one regular bulb overhead and a large light behind me when I record videos, which is what gives the look of lots of light. The task lamp definitely helps though-I can angle it at the presser foot and helps for dark fabrics. 😉
