Barcelona’s modern success has been achieved via a unique native style. The primacy of attacking, possession-based football remains the club’s hallmark and their most distinguishable characteristic.
Barcelona have also become synonymous with academy production, developing players not just fit for first team use, but who are also bred to perpetuate that on-field identity. La Masia, the club’s youth academy, lies at its heart.

11 youth academy players i cant even do that in fifa
Try playing football manager.
Y2Jgrave yes yes
I did it with Valencia and Real Madrid, you just need patience with their development and training but it’ll eventually work out and it makes career mode more fun
@@momelendez9691 after 2 or 3 seasons career mode gets pretty boring
I don't even know why I brought FIFA 19 I don't ever play it
Best football channel on UA-cam.
Messi, Xavi, Iniesta - no other academy will ever produce such legendary world class players. Not even Barca themselves can repeat that.
3 years later and they have Pedri and gavi
@@williamtran6295 Pedri and Gavi are good but not on the same level as Xavi and Iniesta. And Pedri is not actually from Barca's academy.
Wouldn't say they're on par, but what about the class of '92?
@@williamtran6295pedri not from la masia
Lamine? Balde?
this was weirdly emotional
Why weirdly? I mean after video that "proves" Zidane is overrated, and 3 UCL from RM was lucky, there is nothing weirdly with this video, including not spekaing of lack of any sukcess for la masia in last years.
it is common for journalist to like Barca so much, cause they know what journalist like - nice stories that can be: ctrl+v;ctrl+c.
@@Innersoulwithinme Weirdly as a guy who has no emotional attachment as a fan to the club, weirdly.
It’s the music and narration style-both imitate the style used in other emotion-inducing videos you’ve probably seen and so it elicits a similarly emotional response

Mapuia Pachuau and I should add, I’m not sure if my comment came across as critical of Tifo’s style, but that’s not what I intended at all-I absolutely loved the video! Tifo really excels at the nuance and details in almost all of their videos : )
Awesome as always! Maybe you could do an Ajax academy history too? Would love to see that!
That 2010/11 Barcelona team may be the greatest team of all time, certainly the best I've seen in my lifetime.
As a Bayern fan, no matter how much I enjoy winning - actually destroying teams, at the same time I feel pretty bad for Barcelona. They are European royalty with us and Madrid, so I hope they will return to the top, and it'll be even better if there's a lot of La Masia players leading the way.
Bayern is great team.
But I don't think they are in royalty bracket.
I didn't hear any single player (except from born in Germany) wanted to play for Bayern.
Instead of Bayern I think it is Man U!
European royalty? When? Delusional Payern Punich fan
It may be to early to say, but it does seem like barca is back on the right course with la masia being crucial now and poetically with hansi flick on the helm
@@Blaziken0017 I’ve got to admit Lamine Yamal is probably going to end up even better than Musiala, though in this upcoming generation Musiala’s definitely the 2nd most talented
@@schnitzelfilmmaker1130 yamal and musiala gives me hope that technical players are not extinct yet in a landscape that favor physicality more, the football world is better if they both flourish instead of only one of them
Such an amazing team. Only one man can stop them: Ernesto Valverde
he was good tho for athletic bilbao
Big Chungus Barca isn’t for him though
Big Chungus he is actually a good coach but he still has a mid table mentality
Pep Segura and Luis Enrique has entered the chat
Valverde actually promotes youth just like any Barcelona coach it's his tactical flexibility which is a real problem
La Masia saving Barcelona again.
There has been a lot of publicity about the Barcelona golden generation and Manchester United’s ‘Fergie’s fledglings’ but there has never been really any coverage of the 90s Liverpool academy graduates.
McManaman, Fowler, Owen, Carragher and Gerrard all essentially came through their youth system in the space of a few years. Obviously they didn’t have the same success but the level of talent that came out together is amazing and worth highlighting.
Maybe the “spice boys” needed a coach like Alex Ferguson, but yeah, I’ve always thought that

La Masia really exceeded my expectations , Ansu Fati is a beast at the age of 16 , goals and assists at his first match, People really underestimate La Masia's potential
yes . la masia is a huge powerhouse of producing raw talents . but we always give them credit .. teams like Vitesse , Genk and Molde are known to produce the same amount of talents but they get very less attention
@@celestialrex551 What about La Fabrica (Real madrid academy)? Right now, most players playing in top 5 leagues are from La fabrica. They are also underrated. They make good defenders for sure.
Not gonna lie, been anticipating this video for a minute
This is the best football channel no doubt about it. No clickbaits and original content
Ansu Fati will not be the second coming of Messi.
He’ll be the first Fati
no one can be messi.

Amazing, and today we have Fati, Araújo, Gavi, Pedri, Nico, Eric García, Puig. A real machine of talents.
It's really rare and amazing that an academy produced such talented and skillful players at the same era/generation. I think even Barca can't repeat that now.
Fantastic video as always, I'd love to see a video on why Berlin doesn't have a successful football team compared to other capital cities in Europe (Madrid, Rome, London, Paris all have top level teams)
Amsterdam?
"Because of the Berlin wall" sums it up pretty much :P
There’s a video about that on a Chanel called D.W kick off
wtf , London , roma , madrid and even paris doesn't have top teams they just have alot of money , to buy anything they want.
amsterdam for example has a great team with great football style but they need money .
btw liverpool and Man city are the real great team with great football style in england
Btw; London has several, Madrid has two, Rome has one, Paris has zero, and Union Berlin would beat Manchester United right now.
thank you so much tifo to remind me the fact that all 3 ballon d'or finalist are from la masia.
i never really aknowledge that or remember how significant that is.
and iam a Barca fan ffs
And a man shitty fan (your subscriptions)
Can we get a video on what is going on at Arsenal and with Unai Emery’s tactics
Rest in peace Tito
We miss you
Johan Cruyff legacy shall not be tarnished , lets win the treble this year !!!
Haha
I don't. Want valverde to sin anytthing untyil he plays he barca way
Not with Valverde
The picture portrays the 3-4-3 as having wingbacks when in reality it was a 3-4-3 diamond. Good video as usual though 👍
Oh my goal : What the hell happened to la masia😂
Deivan Raj looooooool can’t wait
La masia is working great as always, but the players are not given any minutes nowadays
If u make something on La Masia now is the turn of De Toekomst(Ajax's Academy).Cuz today's La Masia is nothin without Cryuff
Wow.. brilliant video, thank you!
players promoted from Academy to first team and then end up with 11 on the pitch, fulfilling the bravest of dreams by the founders and influencers.
This was beautiful, well done tifo
Kudos to Koeman for giving regular minutes to the Barca B gems !!
Wonderful video Tifo! Great job with the narration, the writing, the scrpit, pacing. It was all wonderful and the end perfectly encapsulated all those years of work and ideas instilled in La Macia finally coming to fruition to the first team and the Spanish international squad.
However, and this is totally off topic, I was wondering how is it possible that you guys have done over 20 videos about Barcelona FC's history and not 1 is about that brazilian player that resurrected the club from turmoil and unsuccesful results in the early 2000s, of course I am talking about the great Ronaldinho. Hopefully this comment is seen and sparks interest. I'd love to see a video made from you guys talking about R10, his legacy and his football skills alongside his charisma and talent, just as you guys did with Iniesta and Messi.
No players under 1.8m? Could you imagine if that actually remained? No Messi, No Xavi, No Iniesta, No Puyol!
All thanks to cruyff. If not, all those players would have never played at Barca.
Barcelona could not win the champions league until Xavi becomes the manager.
La Masia product: “Hello I’m a young talented player from La Masia who can strengthen the team”

Please do a video on why Arsenal are struggling?
Nothing much. Luiz and Mustafi being lords in their game. The midfield just can't control the game and only forwards are firing them to something than nothing
Nithilan Amudhan it’s more than that. A lack of fluidity in tactics makes Arsenal easy to counter due to their predictability, causing tams like Watford to completely dominate them despite picking up 1 point from 4 games. There’s a centre back problem obviously but apart from Xhaka the midfield is good. I’m blaming mainly Emery for his lack of fluidity and poor transfers, with David Luiz and Mustafi not preforming at all
@@matthaeus5373 agree to that a bit. But emery was not given full freedom in the window nor had the budget to get the players he wanted. Lack of team cohesiveness is also looking like a problem. No proper midfielder to help xhaka were bought too to make anything happen
@@nithilanamudhan6260 He bought Nicolas Pepe and Kieran Tierney. He couldn't buy a capable defender when he was handed the chance?
You guys should make a video about Steaua Bucurest, the club which became 2
Its sad to see Bartomeu and co destroying an entire generation's hardwork
Football is one of the few reasons I want the economy to go in recession, there is to much money in football and people who don't have football in their agenda are making decisions its like South Africa there is no pride in representing yourself cause if you do that you bolster the collective now football has been so overwhelmed with commercial objectives frankly I wonder if Alex Ferguson could have survived in this Era of no accountability

To you poor souls who have faulty memory, I am talking about one game in which this occurred. The fact that it happened says a lot about the direction Barça has been moving in recent years, and I clearly overestimated the intelligence of youtube comments when I thought that was obviously what I was implying.

Its a big shame Barcelona have turned to buying players.
Jordi Alba was not a La Masia graduate, he was bought from Valencia.
Neither was Thiago Motta, he was bought when he was 17-18. If he is a La Masia graduate then Vinicius would be a Castilla graduate..
Rome1017 i guess you’re right about Motta, but I’m pretty sure Alba was from the Masia

Forca Barca
Love this video (and all your videos) for how well they break down the impact of small moves and the wider game. This video also made me feel better about Man Utds position (as long as the Glazer's are out in the long term).
He's not the best player ever neither the best coach ever but Cruiff is the most influential person in football history,
What's happened to La Masia since, though? With Barcelona being as active in the international transfer market as any other big club, one surely must question La Masia's recent efficacy.
Recently may rooms meant to house players have been turned to offices. New coaches who never had any prior association with Barca are in charge. And they no longer have any nutritional standards
Babolat92 part two out Monday
have you seen the talent coming out of la masia recently, puig, aleña, fati, perez, oriol and abel. give it some time, illaix will also make it. louie barry also looks a real good prospect.

Let's go back to our roots. Forca Barca.
from future of Barcelona to past in 10 years !!! That escalated quickly
You missed the part where Valverde enters with a jackhammer
All that hard work creating a philosophy for Valverde to come and blow it all away.
That was a problem long before valverde infact valverde is the one that is trying to bring it back somewhat
Valverde Vs LA Masia..
Just thinking what a difference the likes of Dani Olmo and Alex Grimaldo would have made if Barca kept faith in their system…

I'll agree with you if Molde win a champions league game in the next 30 years
These clubs generally sell their highly valued academy players as they are not as financially strong as clubs like Barca. And hence most of these players are in different clubs when they are in the prime.
@@Colby_0-3_IRL_and_title_fights how can they win a Champions league these days? Money always matered in football, but not like today, today you have teams paying 60M for a player who hasnt prove much, clubs cant compete with that.
Even La Masia is strugling with that, Barcelona is a club who can buy the best players in the world, is very hard for a youngster do stay in the first team. The phylosophy talk today is mostly that, talk. People want results, if Barca doesnt win, they want top players playing, there is no patience to wait for young players.
@@Colby_0-3_IRL_and_title_fights mate money is a key factor.. players like de bruyne , lukaku , haland , etcall came from this clubs and were raw talent

They are famous for producing talents for other teams.
Nuñez did it because Cruyff told him it was a good way to save money and make stars . You forgot to mention Cruyff's influence.
La Masia is no longer producing the same quality, or the philosophy of promoting them to the A side has stopped, Roberto is the youngest in the current squad at age 27.
That is Ansu Fati actually.
Awesome!
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, Virgil Van Dijk - what do these world class players have in common? Nothing. There's no such thing as a superior player development model.

Amazing. Can we see something on the Busby Babes please.. Man United was truly the first to put out a young team of academy players.. that was back in the early 50s when players under 23-24 just weren’t considered mature enough

With Valverde and Bartomeu La Masía doesn’t exist
The huge success led to huge expectations. So now they try to buy the best players, which is ironically what real Madrid was doing.
