Honestly before seeing your video i was leaning toward j drawers. They would have been a nightmare. So taken your advice and gone for real handleless. Since you offered what is your opinion on plynth (plinth) heating? All the space is taken up so we are losing the raidiator but have no room for a standing rail.
I love my cream gloss Handleless kitchen. You do need to wipe away fingerprints though. But that’s a good thing in this day and age, the cleaner the better
Thanks! (I add this part later on: thank you so much, industrial product design graduate here, first time I am going to build a kitchen, your video had a huge impact on my decisions, yours is the best handless options comparison video on the internet)
Thank you so much in making and sharing this great clip. We were in a dilemma of J Pull and the 1st option on this clip. We now will take the professional advice and avoid J Pull. Great stuff.
Hi, pleased we’ve helped. Two things I would say. First, this should be an exciting adventure for you, don’t get bogged down. If you’re feeling overwhelmed your not working with the right designers. Speaking of which. Point two, due to numerous requests, we offer a design only service now. If you’re interested get in touch and we can send you details. Good luck.
Great video. We’re having a bespoke kitchen made with Fenix white doors and oak for a Scandi minimalist look. I want handless but wasn’t sure how this was going to work.. I’ll be going for option 1, thanks so much!
Hi , considering a Stori Halbourne Kitchen ,handle less . Is this the same J door , worried that this will be hard to open on fridge suction or heavy roll out draws. Are the grooves just too shallow for grip ? Are there any alternatives that give you the same look but with deeper hold . Many thanks Rob and Sue , p s liked your video
Thanks for the like. I’m not sure about their range of kitchens but I see they do both J profile and true handleless. Irrespective of the depth of the J profile I would always go for the true handleless.
hiya, ive just found your channel and im planning a wheelchair accessible kitchen. i dont want it to look clinical, i only have the options of howdens and i really dont want wall units as i cant reach them. any tips or advice? there is an electric rise n fall hob going in and id like more drawer space but i like the handleless look. think it could work?
Lots of questions there. I presume you are having the rise n fall work top/hob as other people may be using the kitchen. This doesn’t stop you having a handleless kitchen everywhere else. If you are looking for units to be made to special sizes then you do have options. Most of the German kitchens are custom made but I appreciate they tend to be more expensive. However there are many kitchen studios who sell a product that they put together. ie. They have doors made to size by one company, of which there are many, and then make the cabinets to suit. Just ensure that the door isn’t a vinyl wrapped door.
I have just fitted a new kitchen with the J profile doors and we love it. The finger nail problem won't effect us my wife never has nails over 5mm long. Hopefully the durability issue isn't a problem. I do have a Q. about the corner posts on the J profile. My posts have the profile even though they are fixed, don't move with the doors. My nephew has the same kitchen but his corner posts do not have the profile and they look odd to me. Is it normal or have they fitted the wrong corner posts?
Hi Joe. First of all congrats on your new kitchen and I’m really pleased you are happy with the J profile. Regarding the corner posts. If you both had your kitchens from the same supplier then that would puzzle me. However, there are huge quality and attention to detail differences between suppliers. It could just be that your kitchen manufacturer has put a bit more effort into how the product looks. Yes, corner posts should match the door but not every manufacturer will do this.
I went to Ikea and came across a demonstration kitchen installer doing repairs. He discouraged me from getting the "Push Catch" aka "Push to Open". Ikea also has the "J Profile" but the style was not appealing to me. I didn't know what the alternative was till now. Thank you for this video! - Cindy from Canada. 🇨🇦
What do you think of the Blum systems which give you a push to open and a soft close, I was cobncidering this option as I do not like any of the 4 options you showed, (Ikea also do a simular option for drawers with their Exceptionell drawer range)
Hi Darren. Push catch. That men’s on all doors and drawers. Got to say I’m not keen. I actually have some of the Blum push drawers at home.. on some of them you have to virtually kick them to get them to open. Especially if they are low down as you don’t want to bend so far. If you go for this option make sure you have a durable front as it might take some stick. They do work a lot better when there is weight in them, especially when you are pushing them closed
Has the Blum brand most recent push to open option have problems with not closing and usability? Because they have the option to go push to open and soft close so I thought it would catch and close by itself. There are no reviews. And we have a fridge and dishwasher with push to open too.
Hi There. Yes Blum Tip on. They don't close themselves, you have to push them so that the catch locks in. Also you don't generally get a soft close hinge system with Tip on. If you have drawers the same thing applies you have to push the drawers right in so the mechanism locks.
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. Coming up soon will be a video on the self venting hobs after which we will follow that up with the alternative ways to extract from an island hob. That will include the down draft (pop up) type of extractor.
Hi Kim. Glad you liked the video. Thanks for your question. Obviously it’s always subjective when discussing styles and colours. But, although I have seen it done, I really don’t think handleless suits Shaker. Not even a modern Shaker. If you were my client I would be , subtly, be guiding you away from that choice.
Thank you very much for your question. Quite simply, yes, if it will fit properly. What I mean by that is an island requires a bare minimum of 1meter space, all around it. I find there are few kitchens that have the necessary space.
Good question and yes C&L cabinets re usually what we call, true handleless. It refers to the shape of the metal profile. All I would say is be wary that the L shaped profile that runs on top of the doors is continuous and not just attached to each individual door. Also,as we mentioned , don’t get these kitchens confused with J profile.
Do you have a handle less kitchen? What do you think?

That’s great. Thank you for your kind words. Good with your product design.

Hi, I think you have made the right decision. Thanks for the comment.
We are in the process of finding our new kitchen. Your video was extremely useful

Wow Fenix doors. We haven’t done a video on that yet but I’m sure you will love them. Thank you for your comment

Your videos have been invaluable for me figuring out my new kitchen. Thank you i probably would have chosen the wrong thing.
I am so pleased to hear this. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. If you need any more help just ask.

Hi Cindy, from Canada. Glad to of service. I'm sure that the better kitchen studios will be able to offer you the "true handleless" style.

Can u make a video about the different types of extractors (e.g pop up)
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. Coming up soon will be a video on the self venting hobs after which we will follow that up with the alternative ways to extract from an island hob. That will include the down draft (pop up) type of extractor.
Ok thanks, looking forward to it!
Would the strip handles you talk about here, work with a modern shaker style kitchen? Really enjoyed your video, thanks

Very useful inf. Thanks. Do you have your shop in Nottingham.
Hi Kam, sorry, no we don't have a showroom in Nottingham. We cover the NW of England but You're a little too far for us. Good luck with your project.
Which is the best handless doors for best quality
It’s not so much quality as appearance and functionality. The true handleless, as explained in our video, wins hands down on both counts.
Would u suggest having an island
Thank you very much for your question. Quite simply, yes, if it will fit properly. What I mean by that is an island requires a bare minimum of 1meter space, all around it. I find there are few kitchens that have the necessary space.
North facing kitchen no sunlight
Good point. Grill pans can be tricky, and hot!! Telescopic shelves can also help with this too.
Are C&L handles aka True Handleless? My kitchen guy doesn't seem to grab that name.
